We can't get Long Hots in the UK, so I made these with sweet pointy peppers and used a couple habanero chillies in the filling instead for the kick. turned out incredible! Also served it with a bit of crusty bread!

I didn't get many of my long hots from my garden this year. For some reason my bell peppers, serranos and tobasco peppers made a ton. Wish I had more long hots to stuff but you get what you get from the garden.
Made this with banana peppers instead of long hots, turned out soooooo effing DELICIOUS! my partner is crazy about this dish too. We have to make it every week for like 3 weeks straight now. Thank you for the recipe Laura.
Hey Laura! Another winner! In answer tomorrow folks that can't take really spicy 🔥 food I Suggest you make them this way. Cut at the top on the basis and de vain and de seed. Submerge in boiling water for 20 mins. Let cool squeeze filling (I used Italian sausage onion cream cheese) refrigerate over night. Follow Laura's instructions to cook. I finished with Italian herbs the rest of the breadcrumbs and parm. At final I scraped the red sauce on top of the finished dish with Parm over that. Sooooo good folks try to it super easy and yes as Laura said your house will smell amazing. Can't wait to try them cold. I can remember my Nonno making something very similar to this, but he’d close them with toothpicks and cook them on the grill. I can’t remember exactly what they were stuffed with, but I want to say it involved guanciale. Thank you for this recipe!
love the way the sous chef photobombs at the end, lol! not sure what you call those peppers though. i think out here on the left coast we call them "anaheim peppers," but they don't quite look the same. i think that's what i'd get out here, cuz usually the smaller the pepper the hotter.
Those peppers look like the Portuguese peppers I use to when canning my portugese crushed pepper. We let them grow until they are a beautiful bright red.
I bought an Italian Long Hot Pepper plant just so I could make this recipe. A lot of the peppers are red now so they are going to be extra spicy. Thanks Laura!

I would never have the patients to stuff those "long hots", hat's off to you! I wished I lived next door to you, because I would ask for a tray of the stuffed long hot's - I using your the stuffing portion of the recipe; don't know what I am stuffing, but it will be something shaped different? Wish you and your family, your channel is amazing and I enjoy everthing you share!
One adjustment might be to put a little tomato paste in with the beef once it's got a good brown on it and let it catch some of the fond and the fat off the pan before mixing it for some extra f l a v o r

The "long hots" I grew in the garden came out over twice as thick as these and not quite as long.. I don't know why or what that means but I thought it was strange.
