    As an owner I can say this review pointed out a number of things that most reviews miss. Great work.

    It’s exactly what we need in the states. Quality, decent size, and fun to drive. This country is full of mall crawlers. With the cost of gas ever increasing, a 3 cylinder would be just fine. Thanks, RickGTI…..🇺🇸🌴

      Love the good old USA, but I'm sorry I hate your cars, they are all too big square and wide.😢

    Great review JJ - I’ve got one on order in the Elixir Red you drove and it looks fabulous. Mines the electric version due to it being a company car and cheaper for me to lease than a petrol! (And no ownership issues as fully maintained). I thought it was a great car in the test drive, comfortable, quick and just the right amount of tech. Both myself and the wife had no problems with the tiny steering wheel in fact I loved it.

      Thanks Ian. You're right, it's a great colour! They do do the 208 in some really striking colours, like the green or yellow, if you can stomach those. But the red is probably best.

    The one and only Peugeot I've ever owned was a 1995 Peugeot 406 - it was, at the time, a great looking car, and lovely to drive. I enjoyed my very brief ownership, until . . . one day at work, just nipping out at lunchtime, jumped in, and to start the car you had to punch in a code in the keypad immobilizer. Unfortunately, the keypad wouldn't work and so the car wouldn't start - cue a phone call to the dealer and the car was taken away on a low-loader! Fast forward a few months, and I'd just returned from a driving holiday in France and Belgium. The very next day after I'd arrived back home, guess what - the keypad immobilizer failed again! Yet another phone call to the dealer and the low-loader returned! A few weeks later, I got rid! 😡

      I have a soft spot for the 406 :) I agree that it was a great looking car, designed by Pininfarina no less - and the 406 coupe was stunning! My friends dad had a saloon when I was a kid and it was almost new - very fancy as far as I was concerned as my parents drove an ancient Volvo 240. I remember the ride was incredibly comfortable.
      But that doesn't surprise me, they are still struggling with their electrical reliability lol! So not surprised you canned it. Cheers Fred!

      I’ve had a few - 405, 406, 2 306’s all pretty reliable and all lovely cars to drive. 406 in particular was so refined in it’s day - still remember how quiet it was to drive.

    I do like the look of this Peugeot and particularly the looks of it's bigger brother the 508, which I'm a big fan of. As you said though, the reliability aspect of owning a Peugeot puts me off immediately, shame really! BJJ looked like he was having a ruddy good time 🤣🤣🤣

    • @JJonCars
      @JJonCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yep, they're looking really good these days, and totally agree about the 508. He sure was 😂

      Peugeot are near the top in many reliability surveys so the reputation of being unreliable is really misleading. I have had 4 in a row with no issues what so ever and will be picking up my 5th in a day or so.
      Can't wait.

      I had a 208 GT Line until recently. It didn't have a single fault from delivery until the day I traded it in for a bigger car. It was superb and a joy to own. Peugeot's have improved their reliability in recent years and are no longer a risky buy. Don't judge new models by the reliability of the older ones.

    This is a really nice car I do prefer the one before this one the first generation, especially that 1.4hdi engine. I like how peugeot do things differently, many new cars these days are mostly the same. Great video jj some good shots of the car

      A friend of mine had a first get 208 GTi when it came out, I remember thinking the dashboard was pretty cool.They're definitely different :) Thanks Dan! I've probably asked you before, but is that a Starlet in your TH-cam pic?

    You glanced over it but after owning this car for several months now the wireless charger has been so nice to have , you only need to plug it in to phone when using sat nah so when your doing your usual journeys just putting your phone down and gaining some extra charge is so handy I've gone to work leaving home with 65% battery thinking I'm going to be running low but then coming home with over 80% battery it can be quite surprising just half hour to 45 mins of driving going from feeling to battery's a bit low to oh battery's quite full

    • @JJonCars
      @JJonCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can imagine it being really useful! And not having to remember to plug it in :)

    A bit slow watching this but nice video!
    How do you think the interior quality compares to the new Audi A1 for example? And is it above the Seat Ibiza/Renault Clio

    • @JJonCars
      @JJonCars  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries haha! I am yet to drive any of those newer A1/Ibiza/Clio. I suspect that it has a better quality interior than the Clio, and not quite at Audi levels. But I was impressed with this Peugeot for sure.

    Don’t know if you have tested the new e208 GT , I love it, great car, didn’t like the shape of the old one but if you haven’t tested the new one out let me know and you can make a video with mine, it’s got a lot of pull on it, and you get a load more NMOT, pretty quick, I only picked it up last week, the interior is at better now with the green stitching on the seats, there nothing like the interior of the car your driving, my screen as not stopped working or drop out it’s been fine so far

    Just brought a 2020 model of this, but with the auto box. So far I agree with the review, but yet to get fully comfortable with the new screens, coming as I have from a late 2012 308 HDi manual.

      Bit of a step change isn't it. The screens are quite strange but cool

  • @SirMrMoon
    @SirMrMoon ปีที่แล้ว

    All I will say is, a friend of mine had a 208 and the touch screen doesn't work particularly well if your hands are prone to getting sweaty/clammy. Bit grim but I think its a valuable bit of info.

    The previous 208 shape incarnation look much more modern and sporty. This new shape looks more like a classic Rover 200.😮

    The EV ie E 208 is Great car sadly let down by the number of cars that are going faulty with On board charger faults and the rear Wiring loom issues which renders the car undriveble, i worry about the reliability

  • @MotorTorq_ZA
    @MotorTorq_ZA ปีที่แล้ว

    But this 208 is still cool. However i slightly prefer the look of the original 208 and the new corsa

    • @JJonCars
