Ive just bought a used, but still boxed & never played krome EX about a month ago.. absolutely fantastic workstation, great semi weighted keybed, beautiful sounding pianos, eps and organs, full 16track sequencer and great guitars and Arpeggiators.. 100s of great sounds. While the EX doesn't have the sampler, inputs and outputs of the Nautilus or the karma engine of the kronos.. Its perfect for someone like myself compsing.. Also, the krome and the updated EX are fully featured Workstations and were quite expensive on release.. Over $/ £1000.. So, your not buying a cheap "budget"synth, but just like the M3 and the Kronos, Only age and updated technology has reduced theyre prices..

Trying to get through some of the easy set up stuff, and your video is awesome,, I’m a guitar player by profession, keyboard player, by recent fun endeavor,, just play well enough to hear and feel the difference. Not sure if there’s other keyboards that were worth looking at, but this Korg seems pretty amazing…!
I have few queries related to sampling & Midi.First of all is there any possibility to play Mp3 or wave file directly on Krome or on a sequencer mode.2) Why Midi files don't sound properly after rendering out as it sounds properly while recording software tracks on any DAW. I mean what's the use of midi files when am unable to get the proper sounds as we hear during the recoding of any midi track on a Daw like Logic pro but when I export to .midi files the sound gets muffled then what's the use of midi when am unable to store my Midi backing track using software instruments which is same as midi only on Logic pro. 3) Is it possible to play the Wave or mp3 format of loop on Krome. Pl help us out will grateful to you.
at the 12.19 mark you are using the 2vco saw and you play some notes and they keep playing. How did you do that? i followed step by step but mine stops when i stop playing. please explain
Just waiting to pick up the new 73 key for my family. I looked into the Roland FA06, also, which is two generations newer than my old (and I mean old!) Roland E-86, but was surprised to discover that the quality of digital samplings in saxes, flutes, and guitars, had deteriorated markedly between my old one and the FA06. Don't see a reason for that, but it is why I recommended the Korg instead, despite my familiarity with and respect for the Roland system.
05:54 you have the instructions here, also bear in mind you have to plug in the sustain pedal in the DAMPER input (not PEDAL one), this sometimes is very confusing. Also make sure your pedal doesn't have a switch to invert the polarity.
Question. Are there tutorials available for the Krome EX that actually match the various programs I might find on my new EX? For example, in this video, we are instructed to key in B27, press enter, and on the keyboard screen he is using "Platinum Strings" appears. On my EX, "Wide 80s Polysynth" appears. This tutorial is full of discrepancies like this which makes it kind of useless to me. Ideas? Am I missing something or has Korg once again made things twice as hard as they should be?
KromeEX has more instruments than Krome, also more blank Banks for saving created instruments, that section will be different from the original Krome banks, you should download the PDF containing all the instruments (I think you can download it from their website) or just picking them up from the Sections panel 02:38 (guitar, strings, drums etc)
No, combi sounds are combi sounds. What you can do is if you want to create ie. a string with a chorus you should create it as a new instrument using 2 or 3 layers (ie. strings, chorus and violin), save it as a new instrument and then you can use that new "instrument" (a kind of combi) on the program and the sequencer section.

GM means general midi, it is the generic midi bank that is compatible with all Pc's, mac's, other keyboards etc, in which has 128 instrument (drum, guitar, piano, string) usually just 1 instrument of each, so if you create a song using that GM bank it means you can reproduce it practically the same playing it in any other compatible device. (pc, mac, etc)
Eric Filsinger if you are a pianist get the Nord, if you are more imto synth and manipulation of sound get the Krome. If you have money for a Nord, i would rather get a Kronos
I was never knew this keyboard did so much. it has better sounds than Roland FA08. Using Korg 1st then Yamaha modx8 then Rolands Will be using all 3 but korg user friendly. i cant be stressed out w/ what level of user friendly Andrew Brandon Christian Contempary Artist
There is incorrect information on this and oyher videos and the manual is a nightmare . Very un happy about it might have to get rid of the korg krome i have just bought.

I don't know how long this keyboard has been on the market but I have to say this is the worst roll-out I've ever heard of. I bought my EX two weeks ago and this is the most labor intensive, complicated piece of machinery I've ever seen. I was debating between the Yamaha MODX and the Krome EX. Much to my chagrin I chose the EX. No support beyond a bunch of videos and badly written manuals that lead you to the door, so to speak, but don't show you where the key is. The explanations for programming, sequencing and any other function seem to be written for people who already know how they work. I wouldn't be poring through the manual so keenly if I already knew how it works! Poorly executed roll-out Korg!
Actually its overall system is pretty archaic, once you know 2 or 3 things you will get used to it, in my opinion Modx has a more complex panel than Krome.

cool trick with lowering the amount of steps in the arp for a kind of 'beat repeat' effect. Helps cause I can apply it to the radias just as easily

In global mode, there is a switch in controllers to change the polarity if your pedal does not have a switch on it
