  • Homeschooling has exploded in recent years! There are a TON of reasons for this exponential growth…
    ** One-On-One Remote Tutoring; specialedresource.com/free-co...
    More and more parents are finding jobs that allow them to be remote, so they travel and bring their family along.
    Many parents are simply taking their child’s education into their own hands…
    Why?
    Well… some of the reasons I’ve heard from parents are;
    ● Remote Jobs
    ● Parent’s Taking Education Into Their Own Hands;
    ○ School system resources decreasing
    ○ Teacher Burnout
    ○ Less one-on-one help available
    ● Dissatisfaction with the rate of school system advance
    If you have ever thought of making this transition or are interested in knowing some of the secrets… you won’t want to miss what I’m about to show you!

    **Here’s the secret to all of this…
    There are ZERO signs that the education system will improve during your child’s school years.
    That’s a hard pill to swallow… for sure. But it’s true. While there are pockets of great districts… or rooms filled with extraordinary teachers, they are the exception.
    If your child is falling behind… you can’t wait for the school system to come to the rescue. The lack of resources will not allow it anytime soon!
    If your child is excelling in school… it’s most likely due to the fact that they have an incredible teacher who spends a lot of her personal time building, creating, and implementing the resources necessary for children to reach maximum success.
    So while you may not want to make the jump from traditional school to fulltime homeschool… there’s a happy medium that millions of parents have latched onto.
    We have…
    Our daughter is 7 years old. She’s gifted in many areas, and we’ve found that traditional school is too easy for her.
    Instead of pulling her out of school and bringing her into a fulltime homeschool environment… We have her work with one of our special education experts 3 times per week.
    She focuses on her gifted areas… which, for her, includes Math and reading.
    She absolutely LOVES this process and tells her teacher all about her sessions the day after they take place.
    At a minimal cost and zero family interruption… this is the direction hundreds of families have gone…

    With current school building closures, you have a great opportunity to provide guidance to Traditional Special Education Teachers. I'd like to know how your tutoring sessions are structured, what platforms work well, what IEP objectives are not suited to online instructions and which work well, what interventions translate online easily etc. Have you designed a course?

    I know a child who graduated out of iep then 504 now with no assistance and his mother brags about that, I babysit him he cant read nor does he know his colors. My daughter who they will not put on an iep or 504 despite being ADHD and diagnosed with a mood disorder spends 2 to 3 days a week in the office of her school for being a disruption, finally another friend her daughter was also a minor disruptive person just refused to listen or learn also diagnosed with adhd we found she could read in 5th grade and pulled her. I am afraid (my autistic son being 3 in ecse and the teacher remarking on great strides) he may improve to much over the years and be left with a gap in his education. I supplement as much as I can at home already with life skills. He is scheduled to go at age six to an underperforming school (technically most schools around here are but this one is by far one of the worst) is my only option to homeschool. I have called many sources about hardships and the school board, they won't officially say it but there is one race in the school and I have been advised by advocacy groups that they will do whatever possible to diversity schools, they went as far as when my friend moved school districts over the summer they kept his kids at the old school till an attorney was hired. I have time to think about my options but I am really running out of ideas.

      Sarah... This is a scenario where it could make sense to bring in an advocate. This is someone who specializes in the exact scenario you described.
      Since you do have some time before a change will need to be made, I would start by reaching out to some local advocates to gain their feedback.
      Perhaps there are some things they'll recommend you do now within the district that will set your son up for success when he enters Kinder.

      Homeschooling is an opportunity to provide one-on-one support for your child. One-on-one learning with my child has been a blessing. I try to make it fun and give her breaks whenever she needs them. Sometimes our school day ends at a later time than regular school because we tend to take walks. I didn't enjoy sitting for long periods of time as a child😉

    I personally don't believe the stereotype that homeschoolers all have bad social skills. I went to Public School and know homeschool graduates with better social skills than me.

      I used to make fun on them.
      1. Because of the stereotype
      2. I was jealous of them because they ended school early
      Now because of the pandemic I’m looking to them for help. Luckily many of the parents of my church homeschool and they have provided me with some tips on how to do my studies.

    This video is really scattered. I wish you provided resources. This Video is ultimately an ad. :/ Wish I didn't waste my time.
