    In this video I describe a focused plan I used to get started in sync licensing and find success getting signed to THREE exclusive sync libraries in 2021. I talk about the specific things I did from the moment I heard about sync licensing and how it could help me make music income.
    I talk about what kinds of songs I wrote, how I produced them for success in sync licensing, who I listened to and learned from as I studied sync licensing, what kinds of exclusive libraries signed my music, and share a lot of tidbits and ideas along the way.

    Hey I found the same thing one of my libraries likes albums and single songs for custom briefs and albums. And another library takes single cues on a case by case basis especially for custom briefs. Thanks for the great content!

      Each contract with each company is completely different, so that would be a hard one to make.

    Hi, What' s definition for "stock music" licensing? I enjoy your videos very much. I'm envious of your success. I can't crack this nut at any door. Really hard to keep going.

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, "stock music" is not different than "stock photos" or "stock video". It's music people pay for or subscribe to download what they want, mostly for music behind TH-cam or corporate presentations. I think the easiest way in is Pond5, but I have only made about $175 there in twelve months. But it is a place to get your feet wet. Motion Array is about the only place to make real money (or Artlist if you're an artist under 40 imo.) But both of those require pretty high quality music. Check out my next video. There just might be an offer near the end you'll like.

    Hi there, I’ve really been enjoying your videos since I am on the verge of starting up with a sync library. I make all my songs on GarageBand and since I’m on a low budget, and I like to work fast, I have not been able to hire a studio or musicians etc. and have actually really enjoyed doing the whole process myself. I’m wandering if I can pitch my tracks made in GarageBand. Perhaps I could send you a couple and you can give me your opinion?

    What are the best libraries for dark ambient music?

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that will take some research on your part. Seek out libraries that you like and see if they have this kind of music in their catalogs. if they do, they may need more. If they don’t they might like some.

  • @cedricsimonakafrozenjazz
    @cedricsimonakafrozenjazz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, I would have a question: when you "pitch", you showed us an exemple where you send a link with your music.
    I guess you cannot send the same link to different libraries, as they are exclusive, so what if they are interested in the same music?
    Do you send different "albums" or music selection to each one?
    Or do you simply wait to have answer from one lib to proceed to the next one?
    I had a bad experience a few years ago where I sent one track to two different customers, and it happened that both were interested: as a result, I lost both customers.

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, what I did was risky. I sent 5 or 6 emails with the same SoundCloud link. That can be risky as you well found out! Jesse talks about this in many videos how you have to be really careful. Conversely, you can send an email to one library and not hear back for months, so sending one by one could take months or years…
      What I more likely do is approach new libraries with stuff they can have exclusively, but if they don’t get back to me in a few days or a week, I have to move on. Now that I have three libraries I usually send new stuff to one first, then if they don’t want it I send to the next, and then the next, and then post to non-exclusive stock. I can always pull from stock libraries if a company changes its mind or I find another exclusive use. Meanwhile it can make money in stock.

      @@MakeMusicIncome thanks for the video! Why do you prefer exclusive libraries instead of non-exclusive libraries? Is one exclusive more profitable than several non-exclusive?

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-cp8wn3oc1n Well, in general licensing to film and TV and Ads can be MORE profitable. But I do know some people making pretty good $ with stock. But it's a low percentage. I prefer to make high end tracks that are focused for higher end uses. That said, places like Artlist are "non-exclusive" but higher quality.
