After distributing my music through identify,LANDR, RouteNote, or other platforms, if someone uses my music on their channel, which is not monetized (e.g., 500 subscribers), but ads are shown on their videos due to high views, will I still earn money or royalties from my music?

The answer is no, not anymore. I have hundreds of tracks in Pond5 and other sites and maybe meet the threshold once per quarter. Exclusive libraries are where the money is.

I’m new to licensing joined audiosparx had two sales and 53 playlist placements in only 5 months. I’m exclusive, featured, and hot new artist. 310 tracks all metadata done. Working really well for me now thanks mate

Eric, thank you for you video! Thankfully to your course I've found a library and for the last 3 months I was writing an album for them. Ten songs are ready now and approved. Currently I am waiting for contract details. All that became possible after your course. Thank you one more time! Speaking on the Sweetwater monitors segment: I've had Adam Audio, Focal, Yamaha and Dynaudio. Not cheap. And my favorite monitors have been the Mackie MR624 $300. So so good. Put that together yall. You don't need to spend through the roof.

$596.00 for me in October and another $117 here in November. I have been plugging away on Pond5 (only) for 10 years and have made some sales, but nothing like this. This may sound silly but when I earned my 1st $100 bucks in 2014, I was so happy I requested a check instead of PayPal and I framed that check stub! It is proudly displayed on the wall in my studio space! I have 244 clips at present with more on the way. My question is this....why is the Dataset payout shown as 1 sale with no mention of the clips used? Thanks. Just found your channel and subscribed. Great content!

Not a great BMI this quarter, but I've probably made almost 40k on same 6 songs over last 20 years! Just wish I had more of them placed. Pitching mostly sync libraries this year, instead of royalty free libraries, here's hoping!! Hang in there everyone.

This is great! I’m on the verge of submitting a few songs to them. When you say they aren’t interested in “stock music” are you referring to bland instrumental background music that’s primarily filler/elevator music? The reason I ask is because my music is instrumental but they are songs with character and originality.

Good advice Uncle! I've been told this my whole life, can't say that people telling me this were wrong...but everything in the world is hard. Even getting a well paid "safe" job. Making music is no different from opening whatever business, like a supermarket. A business needs care and dedication. Let's just not give up!

Just a quick thank you for two things you said that really resonated with me: 1. Do the dang music and 2. Get back to work. Good advice.

For 99% of the people creating music it is a complete waste of time it is a drug just as addicting as cocaine heroin fentanyl or anything else but it is a complete waste of time that's why most musicians wind up old and mentally disturbed🤣

I am live on stage with my Black Metal Band. I dont earn a lot with that but when i get my costs back it´s fine. This is just my passion beeing on stage ;) And it´s a great variety to sitting at home and make sync music 🤘 great episode btw

I'm a newbie in the Sync business, so I can't really speak too loudly about it, but what concerns me about Taxi is that they charge so much money for every single thing. Many other libraries I'm checking and applying to are free for submissions and pitches, then if you get rejected ok and if you get accepted and placed they take their fee out of your fee and that's it but they don't charge you money to put your music there or to pitch. Why do these guys charge you for every single operation? When so much money is charged, I smell scams.

As part of my research at the University of Portsmouth, I’m investigating the ethical implications of AI in music. I’m continuously discovering both surprising and innovative ways in which AI is reshaping music production. The biggest issue with AI is that it works on algorithms and algorithms can be biased depending on the information fed into it. currently they are conducting an experiment using a second AI to check the work of the first.

A friend of mine had a track approved by a library via TAXI but he ultimately passed on the opportunity because of the same reasons you mentioned. The client was very blunt and impersonal in his response, the website was outdated and unprofessional and there was no indication as to what the track was going to be used for.

remember recording with reel to reel,beginning in late 60's. ping ponging back and forth, til everything was so muddy. Also on four track cassettes, yes, I remember that high end hiss! Started working with protools twenty years ago, what a blessing.
