    Great video! What a time saver. I knew what I wanted to use and hookup but not how to configure. I am using mixing station with an sq5 and an older dell all in one pc with windows with a 24 inch touch screen monitor. Works perfect! As a side note, I can also run Allen Heath mix pad at the same time and switch back and forth if I want to, which is great for things like patching, etc.
    This setup is perfect in situations where you cant run a snake out front. To go a step further, I use an Ecoflow delta, so I don’t even have an extension cord running out to front of house. Anyway, thanks again for your video, really helped me.

    A) Happy New Year!
    (And thank you for another great video.)
    B) Can you do a video showing what Other interesting things we can Map between X-Touch and Mixing Station, like you did with the Master Fader.
    It looks like you can attach any button to any parameter, but is that the case, and what do you use?
    C) How about the Differences between using X-Touch directly to XM-Air 18 vs adding Mixing Station in between?
    D) What ever happened with the “new” Behringer apps, and are they still not up to snuff? Again comparing with Mixing Station.
    Thanks for everything you do, and again Happy New Year!

      Sounds like a couple of great ideas!!
      Added to my list, you’ll get a shout out for that, for sure!
      And to answer the direct question, yes you can map almost anything to almost anywhere, I personally just use the basics/defaults because anything I’m doing outside of the house is generally very basic to run.
      I haven’t taken on any large-scale audio jobs in a very long time.
      Kind of a shame really because the theatre gigs I used to do regularly would have benefitted in a very big way from both mixing station and central control.
      And now that I’m writing it, it may actually make sense to do a video about how my partner and I used to run those shows compared to how we would now with the extra tools….look at what you’ve started here G_handle lol!
      As for the new behringer app…it’s STILL in beta.
      I was on the forum last week and they’d been hinting at another update release coming within days. Haven’t seen anything yet.
      I’ll definitely have an update as soon as there is something to update on.
      Thanks for watching. Happy New Year and happy mixing!

    if you could do another video but show the acutal hookup of the x-touch extender and how it all connects/routes would be great. For the life of me, I can't get an X-touch Universal, and Extender to work at the same time.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is definitely on my list of videos.
      And as soon as I can get my hands on an extender I absolutely will.
      Sadly, I don’t own one, and this channel isn’t monetised at the moment so it takes time and favours to get ahold of equipment.
      But I’ve got the feelers out to see who I know that can get one to me.
      In the meantime, if you’ve got both devices. Drop me a line via email.
      Maybe I can help talk you through the connection!

    Hi, Thanks for the tutorial. What is the reason or advantage of doing this compared to having my X-Touch connected directly to my X32 Rack through Ethernet on my router?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi EHS,
      The reason this tutorial exists is due to numerous requests for this particular method of setup from folks who use mixing station exclusively, and specifically on their iPad.
      "Advantage" is kind of a tough word to work with. One persons advantage is a hindrance to others., so I'll say the following.
      Mixing station provides a pretty easy way to conform the controls of the Xtouch to your mixer, outside of what Behringer has assigned by default.
      That is definitely an advantage if you want to change control mapping.
      Additionally, you can have your iPad pretty much anywhere in the room and connected wirelessly to your rig, and the xtouch only has to be close to your ipad.
      That being said, you can do the same thing with a WIFI repeater, which I demonstrate here: th-cam.com/video/17MMnwJxkZU/w-d-xo.html
      Of course, both of those "wireless" methods require a strong and stable wireless connection so attaching the word "advantage" to that might be a dangerous game to play.
      Outside of those few points, I'd say it's really just a preference and personal workflow choice.
      Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    Great video, looking into x touch now for my xair rig. However, couple questions
    id imagine theres a way to show a fader flip where u select ur channel, click flip and then the faders then become the Selected channel and then send to bus 1,2,3,4,5,6
    Ive seen selecting bus 1 send but never, channel sends to buses
    Other question would be if either getting a 2nd touch unit or extender can be setup to show channels 1-8 or 9-16 etc and the 2nd unit shows buses 1-8 or 9-16 on an x/m32 setup

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Robbie,
      You can do a fader flip.
      If you're connected directly to the mixer and the xtouch is in XTCL mode, you just have to use the xtouch to select the bus. The buttons for that are labelled on the xtouch as the automation buttons.
      Once you select any one of those bus buttons, the FLIP button above the master fader becomes active and allows you to switch between your regular mixing, and having sends-on-fader.
      If you are connected via mixing station, then as soon as you select a bus in the software, you are put into sends-on-fader mode (flip). And in mixing station, you can program any buttons on the xtouch to carry out almost any function you want.
      And for your last question regarding two or more controllers, yes, you can definitely do this, but it will take some setup and may require additional software depending on how you intend to configure your entire setup.
      I will be releasing videos related directly to this question in the next couple of weeks.
      Feel free to reach out with more questions if you decide to pick up an X-touch

      @@QuickEZ ill be watching for that video...currently looking into an x touch for a FOH setup to pair with a tablet and mixing station as this is actually mind blowing (especially since it becomes wireless) i knew it was possible but thought only through direct ethernet...thus no point as might as well just save up and buy an x/m32....this changes the game

    If I have this as a live setup, how does it handle having the iPad disconnected so I can walk around the room, then plugged in again when I return to it? Do I need to power up the X Touch again or does it recover?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve had it react both ways to a disconnect/reconnect.
      What will say is that if you do power cycle the xtouch, It tends to come back to life SUPER FAST!!
      I’ll add a video to my “to do” list that tests the frequency of needing to restart the surface.
      Seems like an interesting test topic.

    I've an touch mix 30 pro digital mixer. Can i connect this controller to my mixer Directly using usb daw port, from controller to my mixer ??. Or else can i use this controller to control daw of qsc in laptops ?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi User,
      The likely answer is “no” you won’t be able to connect this using the DAW port. I’ve never used your mixer so I’m only making an educated guess here.
      But yes, you can connect the controller to control the daw on a computer if you’re using mixing station.

    Hi there, I can't see your name anywhere so I'll just say QuickEZ :)
    Appreciate the video, I just by chance was looking up to see if I could use my X-Touch ONE along with mixing station and this really got my brain firing. Have you had any experience using that particular model with this method?
    My main concern would be changing the channel that is assigned to the single fader. I assume for your model it would be like having 16 channels on Mixing station and having your X-Touch faders toggle between 1-8 and the remaining 9-16 channels.
    Just wanted to check this first before trying it out and wasting a load of time for something that turns out to be futile... I'd be looking to use about 16 channels on Mixing Station for a full band set up.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi EA,
      I haven’t personally used that model but I will say this.
      With mixing station you can tell that single fader what to be. You can have it change to other channels when you click a button or stay as one thing for all of time.
      If you watched through the whole video then you saw that I had to program my master fader. I could have programmed it to be pretty much anything. So you can think of your device in the same way.
      You’re not locked to the default function with Mixing Station. You can change parameters until your hearts content.
      If you have any trouble with this, feel free to drop me a line and I’ll attempt to get you moving in the right direction. Email@quickez.ca
