This is great, especially with the little power strip tower. I would still have a cheap laptop wired into a switch at the X-Air ... I did something similar to this, with an external router, and lost connection JUST as I unmuted the delay FX ... the long delay while they were talking between songs wasn't part of the program! oopsie Now I always have a wired backup, even just sitting on top with the screen closed just in case
A backup solution is ALWAYS recommended. Wi-Fi is great...until it isn't :)
I'm glad you liked this idea!
It's not ideal for everyone, but I do like it as an option for those who are working in limited or non-ideal situations.
It's nice to have an alternative solution.
Let me know if you try this and how it works out for you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching and happy mixing!
I’m running my XTouch by usb midi into my laptop and use it to control X-Air Edit that also controls my mixer through Wi-Fi. Seems to work with XR or X-32.
yep. thats a typical (and very solid) way to connect.
Glad you're getting the most out of your X-touch.
I really enjoy it as a control surface despite some of it's silly shortcomings.
Thanks for watching!
I appreciate your very solid observations of the strange antics of Behringer around an otherwise great product. Been using their stuff for longer than I care to admit. They really changed the game for me and opened up new career. Keep up the good work!
They’ve certainly come along way. I know they get a bad rap still, but honestly, they make some great (and very affordable) products. If they could just keep their eye on the prize all the time they’d be a top shelf company.
Fasinating, have you explored the possibilities of OsiMIDI Stage?
indeed I have. th-cam.com/video/bH_TIuUDeyI/w-d-xo.html
it's a great piece of software.
hello!
Can you please advice how to connect Behringer xTouch to Mackie DL16S
Hi Doyle,
Unfortunately, I’ve never touched a DL16.
As a result I can’t tell you how to connect the XTouch directly or if it would be supported directly.
However, this mixer is supported by mixing station so it’s very likely you can connect the XTouch using this software.
You can use the software for free (it will disconnect every 15 minutes) to see if it will work to connect the XTouch.
You can follow the instructions here to test a connection.

Or

If it works, the software cost is roughly $5.00. It’s a great piece of software, BUT, if you don’t like the way it works, you don’t need to use it for any other of its capabilities if you don’t want to. You can run it in the background to connect your XTouch only.
Sorry I don’t have a more Mackie specific answer but I hope this helps.
Thanks for watching!
I have a network for the equipment and another network for the users. Between the networks there is a firewall.
I need to know which TCP/IP ports should be allowed on the firewall between the Mixer and the mobile application?
Hi Fernando,
Off the top of my head I don’t know the actual answer to this.
Maybe port 18 for message send protocol?!
I’d have to test this to give you a definitive answer.
Unfortunately, I can’t test this until next week.
If you happen to try that, let me know if you have any success.
Thanks for watching the video.
@@QuickEZ I've been testing.... but i heard something about ports 10024 and 10023 TCP/UDP
Let me know if you have luck with those ports. I’m hoping I can test this either Thursday or Friday.
Just curious, are you wanting to connect an xtouch across subnets to the mixer?
Or are you just trying to connect the App to the mixer across your subnets?
Have you actually tried a route across the subnets to see if your firewall is actually blocking your connection ?
"Wireless", except for those wires.
Yep. But not tethered to a single spot with dedicated connection points other than power.
