    We've had massive connectivity issues with an iPad Pro 2020 via USB-C and the Multitracker App lately. Let's hope this Update will fix this 🤞🤞🤞

    Silly question - do you unplug the USB dongle after the first power down from the successful update, before the 10 second restart?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not a silly question at all.
      I didn’t t unplug it right away after the power down. And you don’t “have to”, but you can.
      If you leave it in, it will just prompt you again if you want to do the update again. At which point you can say no and remove the stick.
      I probably should have included that in my video.
      Thanks for asking the question!

    Thanks for the video. Since installing firmware vesrion 3.5, our UI24R won't fully boot. The loading... message appears on the initial splashscreen, and then it's just the blinking green lights. Voltages have been checked, and there don't seem t be any hardware faults. Any clues as to how to get it to boot? We've tried the fullreset process, but it doesn't seem to even get as far as reading the flash drive.

      Hi Gareth. I’m sorry to hear this.
      I have not faced this issue so aside from the usual fullreset the only thing I have to suggest
      (other than reaching out to Soundcraft support, which I would recommend at this point)
      would be trying a cmos/bios reset.
      I do believe there is a reset button inside the device in the motherboard.
      Word of warning. I have NOT done this myself as I’ve had no reason to.
      I can test this with my additional unit to see if there are any errors or additional issues afterwards but I won’t be able to do this test for a week as I’m away from home.
      If you end up trying this please let us all know the results.

    They really need to address the touch screen issue. Their selection and mode of connection to touch screens is limiting. The problem of not knowing for sure if it will work until you buy one and hook it up is also a bit off putting.
    Add to that you can't use the "Big Desktop" mode on HDMI screens. So.... you're limited to the size of your computer/tablet screen for the largest view available. Seems like a missed opportunity. I had a 27" HDMI screen I wanted to use but no....😥
    For such a great product it seems the R&D team fumbled the ball in that area.

      I don’t disagree on any of this.
      Sadly, every mixer has something to dislike or at the very least scratch your head over.
      I think people at the top probably make decisions about priorities, and regardless of what the R&D department come up with, they hold things back.
      Big D restriction is so ridiculous!!
      That’s a shame about your 27”…
      If I had the money I’d just pick up a ton of touch screens and test them for everyone so there’d be no more guessing.
      Maybe one day…

    Maybe one firrmware update for the huge noise or muddy sound for any external audio source input ( dj console, players, etc ) . This mixer has a huge noise at any AUX or MASTER out compare to a RCF M18 for example. I have both. Also there is a strange "stereo image" compare to other digital mixers. When you make a Stereo LINK and hear the sound you can find that the stereo image its somehow without a bit more presence. Like too much spatial sound and too far away. The GUI its fantastic, network and wireless superb ! Also, this mixer came without fan cooler. YOu have to fix it by yourself. There is a special place for that ( funny ) . Ok, this idea was for noiseless but.....in live enviroment this "no fan cooler" its a big issue. I will do the new firmware update, hoping to find maybe more other good things ( not just what I saw in this video ).

    Hi, Im interested in purchase this unit and I’m hesitant because it’s been some time since it was released and I’m worried about how much updates and support will it have for how many years to come. This tells me that they’re still supporting the unit, however, do you think it is still a good purchase in 2024? I’ve seen a newer Allen and Heath option released just 1 year ago, but it doesn’t have real subgroups. So I’m thinking which might be the best option in 2024 and how much life the ui24r has ahead? Thanks in advance!

      Hi bastian.
      I honestly can’t comment on the lifespan. Even if I could, Soundcraft could change their mind at any time.
      That said,I do believe this unit popular enough to stay around for a few more years.
      I do think this is a great unit with many great functions, but the new A&H cq 12/18/20 are AMZING units as well.
      It really comes down to what you want out of the unit.
      The Soundcraft 24 has the ability to cascade two units. Which is great (if you need that functionality).
      Having a built in touchscreen on the cq12/18 is a great feature.
      Decide what your main use will be and what functions best suit your purpose.
      I’m happy to weigh in and help if you have questions.

      Or of course post questions here.

    Hi, got the mixer few weeks ago for church purposes. While streaming through OBS I see the audio signal is good for a laptop but for certain mobiles the volume is dead and distorted. Would this be a TH-cam issues or Firmware update issue?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are able to listen to the other end of the stream on your device and the audio has no issue, but others are experiencing problems, then the likely culprit is the device being used to listen.
      That being said, there are a lot of variables so without additional information it’s hard to give you an absolute answer.
      If could hear the audio myself I could probably comment with more certainty.

      Hi maranatha,
      the last firmware update for this version of mixer was in January of 2018 and is V 1.0.7548
      If that's what you're running then you are up-to-date.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    I wonder what they actual mean with performance improvements to audio stream consistency, probably not solving the USB performance issue when doing full band 24bit multitrack recording.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Joe,
      I’m hoping to do some extended testing over the next couple of weeks, to see if anything jumps out at me. Though I think this is going to be difficult as I’ve never been able to reproduce the issues that others have experienced with their ui24’s.
      At any rate, I’ll post anything I discover.
      If you run the update and notice any improvements right away, please post about it.
      Thanks for watching!

      Just curious. What USB issues have you had while tracking?

    • @JoeBaermann
      @JoeBaermann 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@QuickEZ With the tracking set to 24bit and recording 18 tracks the unit came with a popup saying that a faster USB stick is required, the ones I use should be fast enough though.

      Ahhhh gotcha.
      This is actually an issue that is common with some other equipment. Specifically the Blackmagic ATEM mini ISO line of video switchers.
      They have a very specific requirement for write speed and cache especially when maxing out the record capabilities. And they have a list of specific drives that will work for their ISO line.
      People are constantly picking up drives that appear to meet that write-speed requirement, but in actuality, the drives are too slow when maxing out the channels and are not on the approved list.
      It's a question EVERY.SINGLE.DAY in the ATEM forums.
      Lots of folks are using SSD drives instead of thumb drives with the UI24, connecting them with a powered usb-hub and having very good success that way. I believe the Samsung T7's are a common SSD for this purpose, but don't quote me on that yet. I'd have to dive back into some forum conversations to guarantee thats what folks have been using.
      Let me know if you're interested in going that route and I'll see what I can find for you.

    • @JoeBaermann
      @JoeBaermann 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@QuickEZ I was actually thinking to use an SSD, since I know they are fast enough for much more than those few tracks, I’m pretty much on pair in which disks and casing (controller) to use, thanks though.
      Read/Write on my USB sticks should do, they don’t go much faster, but I kinda suspected that USB sticks might run into issues, the work for 20 tracks at 16bit though.
      Btw. you can use all available space supported by FAT32, but I guess you already know.
      I used Rufus to quickly format my sticks.
