    Simple question I can answer it, its absolutely worth getting it. Best vehicle I've owned and I just hit 4 months having it.

    Gen 2 just came out. A lot of your complains did get addressed. Especially suspension and ride quality. The R1S rides at least 40-50% better. They changed bushings, suspension geometry and more. The R1T just got new bushings. Gen 2’s also got heat pumps 👀
    I sell these cars for a living, I drive R1T’s and R1S’s all day. I have also owned 2 Quad R1Ts. VIN 811 and a 2023. Gen 2 is going to age MUCH better.

      I understand this is a Gen 1, but these cars are far too expensive to have these issues. I think these cars are super cool and I love the way they look, but these issues are unacceptable for a car this expensive.

    • @rohanm54
      @rohanm54 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@Jfreire16 This car is kinda for rich people only. Simply because it’s so expensive to fix lol. We’ll see if Gen 2 repairability and quality is better. It’s basically 78-80k minimum after taxes on a BASE model. Why do you think R2 and R3 is coming…👀
      Rivian has only been producing for 3-4 years. The retooling they just did at the factory exponentially increases quality AND simplicity in manufacturing. They can pump out cars 30% faster with fewer parts and steps. They have also learned A LOT. I was a beta tester as an employee. My family and I have been at Rivian since 2018.
      Rivian STILL has a lot to learn. Things are getting scary and exciting at the same time 😂

    • @Jfreire16
      @Jfreire16 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rohanm54 I get it but they are competing with top end car manufacturers. Unless you are super 100% behind EV idk why you would get this vehicle over Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes, etc at this point.
      Those vehicles don't have the litany of issues that the Rivian's have. It seems that every single car that comes out has something wrong with it that needs to be fixed. And not only that, but it seems the service centers are overwhelmed with extremely long turn arounds.
      I'm rooting for Rivian and would potentially own one in the future, but I don't think they are there yet and I think many of these issues should have been worked out before being sold to the public. It makes me feel like a lot of video game companies that early release their games and have players pay to beta test their unfinished product. Not a fan of that practice.

    • @rohanm54
      @rohanm54 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@Jfreire16 It’s a brand new company man. There’s gonna be HELLA issues at the start. Tesla did the SAME thing. They’re just 10 years ahead. And Rivian will still be ahead of the rest of traditional manufactures, it’s just the traditional manufactures have to make cars that will satisfy their customer base. Rivian doesn’t have to deal with that AND they’re direct to consumer. They’ll have a solid 5+ years of full EV production experience compared to the rest of the traditional OEMS. And commercially, with their EDV/amazon vans, government contracts and pilot programs are already underway. The potential with our vans is limitless and is THE sole reason we’re not going under. When the leases come back by 2026-2028 we’re gonna be in major trouble lol.
      We’re essentially the only electric 3 row at scale rn. The model x is a joke of an SUV because the sloped the back. The EV9 is the only real concern but it doesn’t have the battery tech needed for 300+ miles. We just have to hope and pray the R2 is a booming success. Otherwise I need a new job 😂😬

    I had the same problem with the air pump putting too much air in the tire. You need to reset the pressure between tires by moving the pressure up (+) and down (-). This seems to make it sense the pressure on the next tire before putting air in. I hope this isn't too confusing.

    I have owned my 2023 R1T quad. I was on the original pre orders , my vehicle was 74k. The price has sense gone up. My truck would cost over 95k new. I have 33,000 miles on my truck. Besides a new minor issues my truck has been near perfect. The customer service I’ve received has been excellent. I live in Ca and my nearest service center is El Segundo a 40 minute drive. The 2 times I went to the service center I was either given a loaner or a rental from enterprise. I love my truck and I’m so glad I waited 1.5 years to take delivery. Hands down this is the best electric truck on the market. I use to own a Tesla and the customer service was horrible and you could never speak to a live person. Rivian has live customer service representatives and they return all calls.

    My family has owned 7 Teslas since 2018. We ordered our first R1T last night. 2nd gen, Adventure trim, Dual-motor AWD, Standard battery with Darkout Package, 20" AS wheels, and the new Rivian Premium Audio. Ive never owned a truck, but being a single family homeowner, with football kids, and never having to ask to borrow the inlaws trucks again will make all the difference. I dont mind the lower 275ish mileage as we wont be road tripping it. Wondering if leasing would be better for us as well for now and possibly buy out later. Real world decisions.

Also, I would have left out your punch-list of minor things for the repair shop. Every car has them and chances are that no one else has your minor issues specifically. @johnpearson1994 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would take your car in - I have zero vibration through steering and no suspension rattles so that sounds like a problem that needs to be addressed. Keep in mind the Rivian has steer by wire and is completely electric so you shouldn't be feeling any feedack like that from the road..
      If you've driven any other half tons, those all have solid leaf spring suspensions in the rear which make the rides very stiff and unforgiving over bumps. The Rivian drives like a Lexus in comparison.

    I put a full PPF on my leased 23 Kia GT. Why? Cause I might keep it at the end of my lease. I had gotten a great deal on the PPF so I went ahead and did it. If It was a lot more I probably wouldn't of done it as it gets to a point where it's not worth it anymore. I always do PPF on new cars, it's just an extra cost of a new ownership. If I get my car used then I wouldn't even bother with it.
    I also tinted all of my windows including the windshield. I want to enjoy my car for the time that I do have it, regardless if I end up keeping it or not. As of right now I'm planning on keeping it as it's just too good! 😊
