Gen 2 just came out. A lot of your complains did get addressed. Especially suspension and ride quality. The R1S rides at least 40-50% better. They changed bushings, suspension geometry and more. The R1T just got new bushings. Gen 2’s also got heat pumps 👀 I sell these cars for a living, I drive R1T’s and R1S’s all day. I have also owned 2 Quad R1Ts. VIN 811 and a 2023. Gen 2 is going to age MUCH better.
I understand this is a Gen 1, but these cars are far too expensive to have these issues. I think these cars are super cool and I love the way they look, but these issues are unacceptable for a car this expensive.
@@Jfreire16 This car is kinda for rich people only. Simply because it’s so expensive to fix lol. We’ll see if Gen 2 repairability and quality is better. It’s basically 78-80k minimum after taxes on a BASE model. Why do you think R2 and R3 is coming…👀 Rivian has only been producing for 3-4 years. The retooling they just did at the factory exponentially increases quality AND simplicity in manufacturing. They can pump out cars 30% faster with fewer parts and steps. They have also learned A LOT. I was a beta tester as an employee. My family and I have been at Rivian since 2018. Rivian STILL has a lot to learn. Things are getting scary and exciting at the same time 😂
@@rohanm54 I get it but they are competing with top end car manufacturers. Unless you are super 100% behind EV idk why you would get this vehicle over Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes, etc at this point. Those vehicles don't have the litany of issues that the Rivian's have. It seems that every single car that comes out has something wrong with it that needs to be fixed. And not only that, but it seems the service centers are overwhelmed with extremely long turn arounds. @@Jfreire16 It’s a brand new company man. There’s gonna be HELLA issues at the start. Tesla did the SAME thing. They’re just 10 years ahead. Rivian doesn’t have to deal with that AND they’re direct to consumer. They’ll have a solid 5+ years of full EV production experience compared to the rest of the traditional OEMS. 1:48 rattle come from the subwoofer blowing air out, figured that out last week (had the truck over a year). Your correct The R1T isn’t for family with car seats, that’s what the R1S is for
I had the same problem with the air pump putting too much air in the tire. You need to reset the pressure between tires by moving the pressure up (+) and down (-). This seems to make it sense the pressure on the next tire before putting air in. I hope this isn't too confusing.
I have owned my 2023 R1T quad. I was on the original pre orders , my vehicle was 74k. The price has sense gone up. My truck would cost over 95k new. I have 33,000 miles on my truck. Besides a new minor issues my truck has been near perfect. The customer service I’ve received has been excellent. I live in Ca and my nearest service center is El Segundo a 40 minute drive. The 2 times I went to the service center I was either given a loaner or a rental from enterprise. I love my truck and I’m so glad I waited 1.5 years to take delivery. Not sure about dual motor, but on the quad motor if you’re driving in conserve mode, the front wheel drive kills ride comfort. For quad, standard/all purpose mode is smoothest ride.

Cybertruck. - tesla supercharger network - no paint and no dings - Tesla will probably outlive Rivian - larger truck bed - better audio system - better software
My family has owned 7 Teslas since 2018. Our zoo, the Ft. Wayne Children's Zoo, also has free Level 2 chargers available. They put out about 7kWs. If I set my charge limit higher than I do at home, by the time we are done at the zoo I have more range then when we left home. Definitely nice to get a free 40 to 60 miles.
A couple of things. When demoing the air suspension adjusting, don’t keep moving the camera. You make it hard to see the truck moving when the camera is moving. I would take your car in - I have zero vibration through steering and no suspension rattles so that sounds like a problem that needs to be addressed. Keep in mind the Rivian has steer by wire and is completely electric so you shouldn't be feeling any feedack like that from the road.. If you've driven any other half tons, those all have solid leaf spring suspensions in the rear which make the rides very stiff and unforgiving over bumps. The Rivian drives like a Lexus in comparison.
I put a full PPF on my leased 23 Kia GT. Why? Cause I might keep it at the end of my lease. I had gotten a great deal on the PPF so I went ahead and did it. If It was a lot more I probably wouldn't of done it as it gets to a point where it's not worth it anymore. I always do PPF on new cars, it's just an extra cost of a new ownership. If I get my car used then I wouldn't even bother with it. I also tinted all of my windows including the windshield. I want to enjoy my car for the time that I do have it, regardless if I end up keeping it or not. As of right now I'm planning on keeping it as it's just too good! 😊
