Glass Mousepads for 30 Days : What I Learned

  • Glass mousepads have gotten super popular over the last year with brands like Pulsar, Wallhack, and Razer releasing new pads. What is it like to game exclusively on one and ditch the cloth pad? I switched to using glass mousepads for the last 30 days and this is my experience.

    To me, it was a completely different experience. I always preferred fast pads, so when glass pad started becoming a thing I was curious, but a lot of reviewers talking about the adjustment period coupled with the high price just to try it, turned me off from the idea.
    Eventually, my Venus Pro needed a replacement as it was heavily unevenly, worn. I bought the Superglide, and God was I surprised. It was immediate adjustment, like, "Ah, this is how I wished it felt all my life," and I needed no adjustment period whatsoever. My accuracy went up (like actually looking at my numbers in game), as a fellow Soldier 76 main, it made big difference in tracking for sure. On top of that, my arm doesn't stick at all, so I've never felt the need for a sleeve, I've been using the Superglide for a year now and love it.
    Also, vouch for the Obsidian dots from Xray pads. They definitely made a difference for me.

    Dark Kazemi from glsswrks is available to pre order right now until the 16th. Ordered one myself because every single person I've talked to said the glsswrks Akari had the smoothest surface out of all glasspads to the point where many of them didnt even need a sleeve and apparently the Kazemi is suppose to be even smoother while being slightly slower.

    Honestly the very slick Endgame Gear's MPC450 (specifically the black version) which is a cordura pad does the same thing but without the downsides. I went back and forth between this and my Razer Atlas, the MPC450 felt extremely similar in speed to the Razer Atlass, but the MPC450 has tactile feedback, stopping power (it is a very firm pad but you can still push down on it), no need to wear sleeves and doesn't cause scratchiness with big skates.
    The MPC450 is a unique cordura pad though, it is very quick and felt like a hard plastic pad with a rubber base so the speed will feel very similar to glass pads, other cordura pads such as the Pulsar Paraspeed and the ones from ASUS and CoolerMaster isn't as fast and felt more like traditional cloth pads.

    I’ve been using the atlas for almost a year and it’s amazing, I can’t go back to cloth. I’ve heard good things about the Kazemi but I’m not fan of the graphics, wish it were a solid color.

    You can actually just buy mouse with Avago 3310 or 3360 or 3366 with Frame Smoothing, it's also negotiate a lot of micro stutters from tracking, BUT now you can actually adjust friction with different mouse pad. I kinda prefer low sens in games (64cm for 360) and when i use low friction surface it's just feels like a high sense but it's harder to aim because i used to have some friction. Right now i'm experimenting with Raw Accel to have some smoothing with low entry curve negative acceleration, but it's not as good as old Avago Frame Smoothing like in 3366.

    Might give one a shot 🤔
    I remember when my Steel series XL mouse pad had uneven friction in weird spots so I washed it real good. I let it hang over night but it didn't fully dry so I was using my desk space for a short period of time. It was VERY different. I could tap the mouse and it would glide across lol.
    Started off overshooting a lot but quickly dialed it in. So maybe going glass would be the move. The natural wear and tear of cloth also makes things slightly inconsistent at times.

      @EverTechReviews  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      yeah, glass gives a very consistent experience. It has a learning curve for sure and does require a lot of mouse control. But I have really enjoyed it a lot. I still love my cloth pads so i'll prob swap back and forth depending on my mood :)

    have you tried the Fnatic Jet? This pad is extremely fast it feels so smooth like your on an air hockey table and you don't need a sleeve! I would like to see you try this pad next see how it compares to glass. I think this pad is even faster than glass in my opinion especially with glass skates.

      @EverTechReviews  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have not, I did just get the Neptune Pro this week though which is also very fast and very smooth. Still a different experience overall from glass but has some similarities.

    Which is your favorite mouse between the pulsar X2H or Viper v3 pro. In sweden where i live i got the X2H for only 60 dollars but im not sure if i like the form and if the mouse is worth the prize when better exist for just alittle more. I feel like the mouseform doesn't quite give my pinky and ringfinger enouth room. I've had a logitech g pro wireless (the oldest of them) for a long time but my switches started to let go when i didnt relese the button so i had to get a new one. Can you feel the performence difference between the pulsar and the razer mouse and if so how? How is the size of the razer mouse? I would really like to hear your opinion. on the matter. Thanks in advance and great video quality over quantity i got to say this is one of the best videos, keep up the good work!

      I am working on an x2h video right now!! Hopefully up in the next few days. Performance feels the same from a sensor perspective. It truely is mostly a shape difference more than anything. I’ll go over it in detail in the review. I play pretty similar on both

    if i’m getting the g502 x, should i get a glass pad bc u said it seemed like scratchy with glides on ur logitech mouse and i think those r the same as the ones on the g502 x

    • @EverTechReviews
      @EverTechReviews  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The stock skates on most mice are fine, what happens with larger skates though is you are more likely to get a piece of dirt or hair or something under them which can create that scratchy feeling. you can always get different skates though if it becomes an issue for you. @DiamondLobbyReviews just made a video where he touched on glass pads as well so you could check his experience too!

    This mousepad/mouse marketing has become pathetic! Lighter mice for 190$ and these expensive mousepads 80$ and shit! I use a zowie mouse and a gsr pad not even 100$ for both
