    Want to learn how to trim a mustache? It's not that hard really. It's takes the right tools, knowledge, and confidence. In this how to tutorial video I'll show you a few aspects of how to trim a mustache. Not only will I trim my mustache but give you some guidelines and rules to follow to insure your success.
    As in my other beard and mustache videos you know how important it is to use good tools. In this video I show the stainless steel mustache scissors that I love. It's always important to use good tools to get the job done right the first time.
    Included in this video is establishing your mustache, your mustache part, and how to clean up the body of your mustache as well as cutting and trimming your mustache ends and tips.

    I want to thank you so very much! I have had my beard since I was 17 years old, and I am 52 now. In all that time I had always tried again and again to grow out my beard past the very neat and closely trimmed style. I wanted the look of a Civil War era man, but my beard would rebel and look funny to me. It would get a bit longer and curl, or look uneven to me and I would relent and go back to the neat trimmed style. I am now on my 2nd month of growth, and now I am using beard oli, beard balm, and stache wax. My beard is growing out and because of your videos it is a success. I finally learned how to use products that were good for my skin and beard, and kept the longer hairs looking neater. I still have some bad beard days, but I tell myself to wait them out, and I always look better soon. Thank you for your videos!

    You gave me two great pieces of advice. First, I was twisting the ends of my mustache and cutting them because I saw some guy swear by that technique. Second, "when in doubt about cutting your mustache, let it grow out." Just a couple of days ago I made that choice on my own. However, hearing it from a pro made me realize I made the right decision. thanks for saving me a lot grief.

    I want to thank you for this amazing channel. Your videos are high quality and really, really interesting.
    Before I started watching it, I had a rather short, full beard. Actually I didn't even care about it, I just had it. Than, I saw one of your videos and thought: wow, this guy is cool! The way you approach having a beard made me think about growing a larger beard, but with a classy look. I started using oil and wax to tame that wild hairs and it worked great.
    So about 2 months ago I started growing my beard out, and it already is quiet large, but still looks really nice. While growing out the beard, I'm also growing out the mustache. This was pretty hard at the beginning was rather strange because of the hair getting into my mouth, but now as it grows longer I'm getting more used to it.
    Thanks again for the great channel, keep doing this great job!

    BB- Your advice on patience and "crumbs" have really helped me to gain confidence. My biggest challenge has been straight mustache hair and a curly ringlet beard. Any tips on taming a curly beard?

    • @thebeardbaron
      @thebeardbaron  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Greene If the beard is very curly it's best to embrace it and to allow it to grow out and then shape it accordingly to whatever style your prefer. Sometimes the added length will add enough weight to "relax" the curls just a bit. Beard oil helps as well.

    Just bought some mustache wax from you to tame my stache a bit more, one side seems to curl naturally better than the other side, 1 side curls and 1 side naturally stays down. Cause of that I'm always messing with my stache and making sure it looks somewhat symmetrical, the last wax i had i did not like at all so going to give this one a shot, it seems very good and sturdy.

    Thank you I especially liked the part about walking away when things get a little bit tense. I can't tell you how many times I ended up shaving it all off out of frustration. Good advice, thanks for sharing! I've always had a penchant for hair trimming, but beards are an entirely different ballgame. One thing which makes giving advice so hard is that everyone's beard is slightly different.
    My a beard's six months old now, and my mustache curls inward so aggressively that it's constantly getting in my mouth. Even at 2" long, it just wasn't taking the turn outwards. So after a two week deliberation, I just trimmed it with the help of your video. That paper trick is an excellent idea, and I used it to great effect. My next decision to make is whether to cut a beard line to get rid of the cheek scruff, but I digress. Thanks again for the tips! 👍

    Thanks for your videos they are great! I am just starting to grow my mustache and I'm going to be going for the gunslinger style. I'm 30 so a little late getting started. I am just wondering where in the corners of the mouth should i stop shaving? I'm about 3 weeks in so hairs are going everywhere at this stage. Any information would be appreciated. Keep up the videos bro!

      Robert Bachman Thanks for watching Robert! A good place to shave is where the smile line is which can be seen when you smile. This is right at the corners. It can be modified to your liking but it's a good place to start.

    Something I would say is if you're wanting to significantly alter the length of your 'stache, that's a much more major decision than just cutting the tips off a hair or two to clean it up. So, you should take a few days extra to think on that decision before committing to it.

    Baron first thanks a lot for the tutorial. Really helpful! My right side of my mustache is curling down and this is really annoying! I've been growing it for 9month and i use to cut lip line but no anymore, knowing that i really take care of my beard and mustache with conditioners and i blow dry it after shower. Need you expertise bro. Cheers

    Very nice videos and tips, Baron. So bad it's too hard to reach your products here in Brazil.
    I have a question about the stache. I've been growing my stache for the second time now for 4 or 5 months and I'm noticing that one side has significantly more hair than the other, especially on the tips area. Did you face this problem? Any tips or video I could watch? Should I try to even it by cutting some hair on the stronger side or is it a recipe for disaster? This is driving me crazy! Anyway, thank you!

      Rodolfo B. C. Spindler I'd let it keep growing out a bit and see if it corrects itself. You can trim it if you'd like to even it out a bit, just be careful doing so!

    Great tips and advice Beard Baron.
    Is it advisable to trim the moustache before it reaches epic proportions or when the wearer reaches the size he is happy with?

    • @thebeardbaron
      @thebeardbaron  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always encourage men to grow out to the length the like and then trim back. I'm actually growing out the middle of my mustache but trimmed it for the video sake. For example I like where my ends are so I would trim those and allow everything else to catch up.

    Damn I wish I would've seen this one earlier, just had to cut mine down because of a little accident after too much frustraion with food and drinks especially on the sides of my mustache, now I actually look a lot like that photo you showed there.
    Well good thing is it grows back :D

    Is there a certain way to comb your stache as it's growing out? My stache is just about to touch my bottom lip and I'm having issues combing it because the hairs go all over the place. I use mustache wax but my hairs still won't behave. I'm currently combing from the middle and straight out. What's your recommendation? Cheers!

    Hey, really enjoying your videos. I have a question I'd love for you to answer. I have quite a short beard and before I watched this I trimmed a little bit off my moustache with clippers and although I wouldn't say I butchered it I'm afraid the unevenness with the rest of my beard is a bad. This is mainly due to the fact it's my first proper beard so I'm a little unsure. Do you think I should trim up the rest of it to even it out?
