Started growing my mustache September 1973 @ the age of 19 & I have never shaved it off. I would grow it for a week or two & shave it, since I wasn’t sure if I had enough growth to have a thick mustache. An older man that I worked with convinced me to let it grow for a longer period of time, telling me that the follicles needed to droop down to make it thicken. About two months later I had a great looking Chevron mustache, inspired by Mark Spitz the 1972 Olympian. Later, Turned out looking as thick as Larry Csonka’s mustache. Now @ 65, it’s gray like Greg Berzinsky’s.

Same here. that happens to my beard all over my face. There are two things that you can do to fix it. (1) let it grow long enough so it begins to fall over. For me this usually takes 2-3 weeks of a really awkward caveman beard but then it begins to fall over and look neat. the effort is totally worth it, imo. (2) Oil the living shite out of the beard. Hope this helps.

There's a lot of channels about growing facial hair, but you guys are the best, as well as the first. Keep going. Encouraging men to grow and love what they got is important and you guys are tops!
When I was a little kid, Kermit told me things kids need to know. Over three decades later, Kermit comes into my life again and teaches me how to manage my mustache. I think he divorced Miss Piggy, grew a beard, bought a Harley and is just living the life now.
Been working the stache since 2019. Learned some great tips here and also learned that I have a decent routine. You actually look like my pal who I started to grow mine with.
The other day I shaved off my winter beard and decided to rock the stash for the first time, because I can =) Then a few days later I stumble onto this gem of a video...
Come on guys... One or two month to grow a moustache is not too much! If you can't wait for a moustache to grow, you won't be married for long. Patience.
I know im late to this party on this video, but to anyone who wants a moustache and is too afraid to grow one, just do it. Im 28, I have had a moustache in some form for the better part of the last 10 years, and for the last few years ONLY a moustache because Im a firefighter now. If its the criticism your worried about, first of all just stop worrying because who cares what anyone thinks. But more importantly, the only people in my experience who crack jokes are your friends. (one of my friends does call me Jeff Foxworthy from time to time lol) I dont think I have had even one time where a random stranger criticized my stache. Even if they did I wouldnt care but be you, thats the point.
Damn right I'm rocking a mustache and of handlebar variety, been doing so for years and I would never dare shave it off. I tried going for a large beard to accompany it in the last year but I found it wasn't letting the stash shine and pop the way I wanted so I went back to a short beard in the holidays. It was an interesting experiment but in the end I am a man of mustache and it so happens my fiancee likes that look better anyway.
I’ve had mine for most of my adult life. I despise shaving the upper-lip area. I use the last setting on my trimmer to keep it full. I prefer to keep the hair off my upper for a more streamlined look and to keep the hair off my food.
Hey my names Eric too! Hell yeah! I've been rockin mine for like a month now and I've been getting a lot of compliments at work and from friends. It's also weirdly making me more confident cause I never knew what type of style would work for my face but the stache is like the missing piece I guess
I've had mine since late 1970 (I'm 72 now). I grew it because one of my father's brothers had one, and I liked the way it looked. I've shaved it off only twice; once for a 1950s party, and in the military, as they weren't allowing them until late 1970. Mine is the classic Chevron, and I trim it exactly like Eric says with a small scissors, nothing past the corner of the lip, and trimmed by the upper lip. I won't grow a beard, as my whiskers are too gray, and I sure am not going to start coloring it now.
Thank god. I’ve been growing my mustache and the hairs are all over my upper lip and it’s incredibly annoying and uncomfortable. So glad I can trim that and get rid of it
I’m considering and I think slowly persuading myself to grow a moustache. I’ve had a full beard for most of the past twelve or thirteen years and recently adopted the Balbo style but now thinking about a moustache. I’ve never had one before so feel like I want to try it. The guy in my profile photo is a distant relative from Ireland.
Was fortunate to have a Sam Elliot type mustache that I wore for many years. It required a fair amount of upkeep when I worked the customer service world. In my early 40's, I shaved it off and everyone said I looked ten years younger. I'm now 65 and have been clean shaven ever since. The biggest mistake I see with guys is that they allow the stache to grow beyond the corner of the mouth like the start of a fu manchu. It's not a good look on most guys. And trim to lip line, not above. All the best guys! (FYI, I use Old Money utility balm as aftershave. Great product!)
Another thing about mustache growth is different colors at different rates. Mine grows in nice an blonde, then after month 3 it gets darker for some reason. So just have patience my dudes.

Thanks to you and all the Beardbrand bros, I have managed to make it to the 4 month mark with a full beard.
There's a lot of channels about growing facial hair, but you guys are the best, as well as the first. Keep going. Encouraging men to grow and love what they got is important and you guys are tops!
Great tips. Thanks. I can see that patience is key when just starting to grow a stash.
Saving this good video for future reference.
Thanks, this is the best stache-video on this thing man.
When I was a little kid, Kermit told me things kids need to know.
Over three decades later, Kermit comes into my life again and teaches me how to manage my mustache.
I think he divorced Miss Piggy, grew a beard, bought a Harley and is just living the life now.
When you yelled at the intro . Literally paused the video and said chill bruh
blake bennett what can I say? I’m fired up about mustaches.
People with this voice always seem trustworthy. They wont be super helpful but they'll lead you in the right direction.
😂
Been working the stache since 2019. Learned some great tips here and also learned that I have a decent routine. You actually look like my pal who I started to grow mine with.
Yo! Is this man the human Kermit? Dude, tell me this guy isn’t voice acting!😆 Badass cheveron, man!
Bourbon oozes out the screen... "Hey guys, Eric here!" 😂😂😂
“Hey Bert” “Hey Ernie”. 😂
Hey Eric, nice to see the mustache coming in.
I’ve always been jealous of your mustache when it’s full- large and in charge 😃
Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words! The stache will only get bigger from here on out. 🙂
The other day I shaved off my winter beard and decided to rock the stash for the first time, because I can =)
Then a few days later I stumble onto this gem of a video...
I think your voice is awesome. Distinctive, engaging and fresh. Great videos. Moustache ere we come.
You’re right, to hell what ppl think. As to reasons why I’m growing mine out.
Wow, I didn’t expect Fozzy Bear to be so groom in tuned.
I've had a Chevron for about 8 months now and it didn't reach full thickness for about 3 months. Still haven't quite mastered the scissors though lol.
Gray hairs are cool
Thank god. I’ve been growing my mustache and the hairs are all over my upper lip and it’s incredibly annoying and uncomfortable. So glad I can trim that and get rid of it
I respect what you bring to the mini mullet game.
Hope you can make a tutorial on how to trim your stache Eric, keep on with great content!!

+ the manager from "Super Store" xD
I never knew about moustache wax. Definitely getting it along with the comb, Eric. Great tips.
Thanks for the video!
I need to take whatever Eric took before making this video 😂
Helium?
I closed my eyes and imagined Fozzie Bear during this video and man does it fit well. All jokes aside, I do appreciate the tips!
Im 16. Been growing little hair on my upper lip, starting to form a bit. Really looking forward to growing a moustache by this summer.
How’s it going? :D
