    Love that you kept the studio tour raw and natural, and in normal working mode.
    I was thinking of doing a similar thing where I don't clean up 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, and leave it the way I have it when I'm working - cables everywhere, lighting out, flash drives and lenses all taken out etc. It's more realistic.
    If my setup is clean looking, it looks unrealistic to how I work, or generally to how I'd imagine anyone else works.
    That alone was really cool that you did that.

    I have similar setup. You could glue a half inch thick quartz stone “kitchen” worktop on top of your desk. You have to check if your desk motor will handle the weight. Quartz is super tough impossible to scratch, water and oil resistant nonconductive and mouse will work on quartz no need for a pad. You could also store your headphones hanging them on an under desk hook.

    Attaching additional power strips (or a single one with a lot) to the desk and using that to attach everything (even the cable for the desk itself) so that only one cable goes to the ground helps. Route that single cable horizontally to where it meets a leg, then allow the cable to drop vertically there... Works really well if one of the legs are placed closer to the power supply.

Its inspired by food photography for the product shots, and by films for other sets. Great work indeed, but don't be scared you don't need expensive gear if you have a high attention to detail, and research for inspiration in other fields of what you do, youll do great.

    I’m always amazed seeing many of the top youtubers using keyboards without the numeric pads. Me being a video editor, one of the thing I can’t live without is the numeric keypad because how much I use timecode. And while I know video footage for TH-cam doesn’t require timecode, many of these youtubers also work on projects outside TH-cam.

    Hey Marques, love the setup, looks really productive and well organized (basically the same layout for the last decade huh? 😉)
    But I have a suggestion - you can plug the SD card reader to the back of the display (and maybe adhere the slot part to it so it'll be sturdy). I plugged a USB hub this way and it's really convenient. 👍🏻
    Plus, if you want, you can use a sleeve to bunch up all the cables that go up to the desk and this way you'll have nice clean route of cables rather than few loose ones (plus there's one in white so it blends with the wall behind)
    Hope you find it useful 😁

  • @XLessThanZ

    A custom hanging (from the desktop) shelf could take that Mac Pro off the ground and that would give it a little cleaner look for the cables. Maybe even get the backup under the desk and on that same shelf. A thought. 🤔🤔🤔

  • @kr0k3tt
    @kr0k3tt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    As someone who uses sit stand desks. Cable management can be a bit tricky because you have to leave slack for the up and down action. You could clip a few more of those cables to the underside of the desk and make it so you have only a single cable run between the floor and the desk with enough slack to go standing. So I appreciate the difficulty but you got room to up your game there :P

    You CAN cable manage for both heights and I do. Mount your Mac Pro to the bottom of your desk - many different products to do this. Use zip ties for slack. Run a single or double large power strip with spaced outlets and mount to the bottom of your desk using screws or adhesive. You can use magnetic holders on the legs for the cables from the wall. Result is 1 cable from the wall and invisible cables all over. 👍🏼👍🏼

    The plugs should be on top of the desk, not below it.

You may be able to wrap the cables in bundles (I’d separate power and data, though) fix at one end and allow a loop of wrapped cabling to uncoil as needed. Loving the Studio videos 👍🏻
