I love how Jimmy is the confidant for the ENTIRE Kent family
but he does have limits and dodged a bullet with Lois's father in the conversation department and somewhat with Pa Kent.
Christ, the portrayal of kryptonite exposure in this series is friggin' brutal.
I've seen kryptonite affect Superman differently depending on various shows and comics but this is absolute torture for a kids show

I really like how they wrote Superman here and really added a whole new spin here where instead of being a symbol of hope he thinks that the whole reason for him being here is to conquer earth
This really adds to clark finding his own path and really shows without knowing anything about krpton he is still on the right track thats some top level writing right there
yeah, but in the original that was the difference between General Zod and Jor-El, Zod wanted to Conquer, Jor-El wanted to save their people

Yeah I thought they were setting up for Lois and/or Jimmy being afraid their Clark was an evil Superman. But no; they were setting up for Clark to be afraid that he is an evil Superman! Very twisty!

Really makes me look forward to him coming to understand all his canon stuff. Specifically his backstory since he’s being lead on to believe he’s meant to be a weapon instead of a survivor. I can’t wait for the internal reveals where Clark figures out he wasn’t sent to be a conqueror at all

His reaction is all that's needed to let you know he is unquestionably a good Superman. He's literally brought to tears by the actions of one person that isn't even technically him. But just the thought that someone with his face and powers could hurt innocent people crushes his soul that much
Don’t forget, he already thinks he was sent as a weapon to conquer earth for krypton. This just reinforces that idea. He’s defo gonna have some issues to sort through in season 2

Thankfully, we the audience, know that evil Supermen are rare (thankfully 😥😓) and that almost all of the other Supermen across the Multiverse are pure good, and represent the best in humanity 🤔😉. Hopefully Clark and company will eventually learn that 😓🤞🙏.
Although we have the meta knowledge that it's not true, I'd love that headcanon to enhance the experience!

I love how they dont use the videos as an excuse for lois to turn on superman but instead to help supermans character development. They both managed to cut to the chase and do something different
Jimmy gets pulled around a bit and gets frustrated as he should be. However, both Jimmy and Lois make a mistake that leads to Clark finding out about the evil Superman footage. That alone should be bad enough, but Clark once again gets exposed to Kryptonite, which unintentionally sets up the biggest conflict of the episode. Due to Clark being exposed to Kryptonite near the ship's general location, the ship responded, leading to the main problem that Superman has to stop.
If you haven't picked up on it yet, the show has pretty strong opinions about people keeping significant secrets in close relationships.
That opinion being, _don't._

I noticed that before the kryptonite was detected Jor El looked so sad, he was thinking he wish his son could understand him so he could explain everything
I would like to see how Red Kryptonite would affect Sups in a future episode, knowing that it has unpredictable effects on The Man Of Steel. It had turned him evil, turned him into a lion, a chimpanzee, a gorilla, a humanoid ant, fat, a human King Kong, etc. The effects last for 24 hours.

I thought red kryptonite was just a more fatal variant of green kryptonite? I remember in Injustice that Batman kept Clark in a red kryptonite prison as it heavily suppressed his powers.

Actually he seen the Premier Superman, and Nazi Superman variants do him. Of course few of the Supermans in the multiverse aren’t so pure of heart but most of them are all good even this variant is extremely good.
Even this Kryptonite that uses on him is more brutal and violent than the others!

The effects of the radiation from the Kryptonite shard are even more dangerous than they ever have been in past media. Since it's not only harmful to Kryptonians themselves, but to their technology, the built-in defense system (including it's connection to Brainiac) activated 😰😱. Jor-El's opposition to the Brainiac robots (OMACs), suggests that he repurposed/reprogrammed the Brainiac ship with the AI copy of his (the original Jor-El's) consciousness to bring baby Kal-El/Clark to safety on Earth, also shows where Clark got his heroism from 🤔😉👍.
