I like the concept of turning Krypton into conquers who have bitten off more than they could chew in picking a fight with Darkseid. I wonder how he's going to look.

@@NanashiAkaii mean everything is something. Also this is a little different cause Frieza first basically enslaved the Saiyans THEN destroyed them, and in this the Kryptonians just stumbled onto Apokolips and tried to conquer it.

@@sunshineskystar i mean, it's entirely possible and likely they had encountered a yellow sun. But they have to constantly be around the yellow sun for it to work, it's not like it's a one and done. Also, I don't know about the Apokolips and him still having his powers, but I know at the very least that if Superman was removed from an environment with a yellow sun he wouldn't immediately lose his powers, they'd drain like a battery. Superman basically acts like a living solar panel and he's just always fully charged cause he's usually always on Earth in the radiation of it's Yellow Sun. So maybe he's able to use his powers on Apokolips that way
I like that Jor-El considers his people's fall to be completely well-deserved
I mean, he kind of was always like that. That's why he made the rocket for Kal-El in secret in the first place, he was disgusted and sad about how his warnings continued to fall on deaf ears because of arrogance, but was still hopeful for his son.
In most stories when we get to see Jor-El he is the only one who speaks up about Kryptons impending doom, be it do to natural disaster or outside ones.
He was a good guy. With great taste in eyepatches.

@@painvillegaming4119 Yeah. I really like how in the Moro Arc that he's completely fine with and understands that he's going to Hell and nothing will ever change that. The old Vegeta would've done everything to avoid that fate, believing he deserved better simply because he was the Prince of all Saiyans. But now he understands that his every action has consequences, and there's no undoing the atrocities he's committed. He'll never find redemption, but he has found atonement. Which is some Iroh activity.

I like the idea that the Kryptonians were a technologically advanced, conquering race who made the terrible mistake of challenging Darkseid and were driven to near extinction because of it. Makes a lot more sense than going extinct because you ignored the signs your planet was going to explode despite being a species capable of interstellar travel...
I like the superman animated tv series Idea where their trust in their advanced artificial intelleginece actually led them to ignore the signs and calculations done by an actual scientist.

Kryptonians are supposed to be near Time Lord (Dr Who) level of technological power.
A civilization that could easily challenge Apokolips.
Them being taken out by Darkseid (instead of a natural disaster, or even Brainiac) makes them look a lot weaker.
Plus it changes them from Science nerds to Warlords.
Which really undermines Zod's motivations.
In either storyline, Kryptonians seem to be arrogant and thoughtless, and the EL family seemed to be the only ones with enough sense to send their children away to safety.
@@Rensune Eeeh, idk, if they lost to anyone else, I'd agree, but tbh, losing to Darkseid doesn't make them look weak imo. He's been able to put up a damn good fight against the League, the Legion of Super-Heroes, he's the ultimate threat to DC. Them losing to him tracks.

While it was an interesting take of how Superman misunderstood his origin and purpose, as one of those people who know and seen Superman's origin so many times, it gets a bit frustrating to the point where I want to shout "No Superman that's not who and what you are."

I'm glad to see Jor-El finally be able to explain some things to his son. It's such a shame that Krypton had a race of conquerors in this continuity, but at least it's something different while being true to how kryptonians always bring about their own destruction. This time, they went to war with an enemy they couldn't beat. It's hinted that the enemy was Darkseid. If that's the case, the kryptonians were never going to beat him under a red sun, even with Brainiac's technology. Now Clark knows that he and Kara are the last kryptonians. Apparently, this time around, Clark and Kara seem to be around the same age instead of Kara being the elder cousin. Of course, Amanda Waller is causing trouble in her misguided attempt to destroy Superman, who is a hero.

Interesting that she and Clark were born around the same time in this continuity. Kara holds a special place in the Superman lore as one of the only Kyrptonians who has memories of Krypton and who had a childhood there. She feels strongly about being a superhero not just because she admires her cousin for doing it, but because she knows the pain of being powerless to do anything but watch as her homeland was destroyed and now she's desperate to not let it happen again. Also her frustraition over having to live in a new world that's so much more primitive compared to what she knew. and that gets striped from her if she was sent away in the rocket also as a baby.
Not to mention the fascinating dynamic between her and Clark where one moment she was readying herself to be the caretaker for her baby cousin and the next thing she knows, he's a grown man who's taking care of her.

Ok judging by what he tells and what we see, the Kryptonians were always an advanced civilization under an expansionist and conquering space empire, at the same time it's refreshing, compared to stories where the Kryptonians isolated themselves, but at the same time, it looks like they erased the very aesthetic and pure side of the Kryptonians, I'm talking about the architecture and outfits, it looks like they were all soldiers, maybe we will see other part of the kryptonian civilization

Well yeah, Viltrimites are if the Kryptonians never calmed down and stopped expanding, as well as having innate powers without an energetic star around.
So in this reality, Zod's factions were dominant over the Science Counsel. Zod's existence always did show there was a militant potential to Krypton, but in most cases the more pacifist nature was in control.
There’s something Emotional and Wholesome about Clark learning more about Krypton and that’s he’s not just the only one but there’s Hope that makes him Human.
My theory is that Kara is actually a conquering warlord because she was raised elsewhere

This isn’t the first time Kryptonians were depicted as conquerors. In Flashpoint Beyond (I believe need a fact check) Superman finds out he's an advanced scout for a Kryptonian invasion. Still, it's like you said a reference because Invincible debuted in 2003 which predates Flashpoint.
Byrne's Kryptonians from the 80's were also former conquerors before they went through into self imposed seclusion.

So basically, the Kryptonians in this series were like the Viltrumites from Invincible; a starfaring expansionist empire conquering others. But whereas the Viltrumites tried to recover from the plague that almost destroyed them and keep conquering, here the Kryptonians ran into an enemy they couldn't just bulldoze and just stomped them right back. Looks like they ran into Darkseid.
Reversed, but yeah, seems this version never had them cool down and stagnate, as well as Brainiac being mixed into the Eradicator as well.

Okay if krypton was a nation of conqors that brought a war down on themselves who was this enemy that wiped them out. More importantly, the kryptoian warrior that we saw at the end of season 1 how did he survive. What is his plan?

If it is him then it is clear he wants to finish the war his country started and take revenge for krypton destruction. A man hungry for revenge because of his distroyed people is very dangerous.

As others have noted, the enemy is almost certainly Darkseid (we saw Superman fighting what appeared to be a Parademon in the trailer). As for the warrior--I see two possibilities. It _could_ be General Zod, in which case Brainiac (a Kryptonian A.I. in this continuity) likely saved him somehow and he's been conquering planets in Krypton's name. Alternatively, since one of the commercial bumpers showed Kara in a Kryptonian military uniform, it might be her inside that armor. Brainiac could have found her ship and he's been manipulating her to serve his purposes ever since. (I personally hope it's the latter, because Zod has made _so_ many TV appearances lately and if this show already has Brainiac and Darkseid, he's not really needed.) As a side note: if the Kryptonian warrior _is_ Zod, he was probably also "Nemesis Omega". Alternatively, "Nemesis Omega" might be the Eradicator (which again, I would prefer, because the Eradicator has made so few appearances outside the comics).

I think this take on Supergirl is going to be really interesting and unique. Them being twin cousins sent away at the same time as babies is a neat idea, and very different from other supergirl origins.
I didn't know that Superman's voice actor actually sound like this in real life. I thought he was making himself sound more nerdy to voice act Clark but no, he really sounds like a sexy adorkable himbo.
Perhaps brainiac is a sort of war ai krypton made to run / guide their military like the forerunner ai in halo

Normal it’s a solid idea to fight fire with fire but not against someone that makes and control the tech like it’s their body.
Now they turned the Kriptonians into the Viltrumites conquerors?
Not the first time
I was really hoping they were going to lean into the whole "20th Century Jewish Refugee/ immigrant" metaphor that Superman was built on. Like there was strife going on on Krypton with Clark's class /race/ specific kind of Kryptonian being scapegoated for the problems happening, that were really just problems being caused by the planet's structural integrity collapsing in a few years time.
Then Jor El would explain "Those weren't OUR people on zero day. Those were the ones who were trying to HUNT our people down. Your mother and I stole an enemy vessel to sneak you past them so they wouldn't shoot you down. In the end, they cared more about eliminating us instead of doing anything to save themselves. Now all of Krypton is gone."
That would:
A.) Continue on with the themes of season 1 where everyone wondered if Superman was dangerous even though he was just a normal guy. Then Clark comes to find out the people he hails from weren't dangerous either. Just people trying to get byin hard times.
B.) Be a parallel to Amanda Waller and her whole operation, who's also more interested in the idea of control than actually helping anyone, and all her talking of "Protecting America" is just something she says to justify her heinous actions.
C.) Would have been a stronger emotional gut punch than for Clark to find out that he was right from the beginning. He DOES come from a dangerous race who WERE the type of people who'd want to invade other planets. The only thing he was wrong about was them possibly coming back.

Ik this is a different take on things but I thought Kara was always like 13-14 or at least older than Clark on Krypton but then when she gets to earth Clark is already an adult and has been Superman?
In a lot of continuities she's put into stasis for the trip to earth so she doesn't age while Clark grows up normally. So she's usually chronologically but not biologically older than him.

In Pre-Crisis, Kara was just a teenager on a remnant of Krypton (Argo) and when she arrived on Earth, she was both biologically and chronologically 15...and at this time Dick, Wally, Roy and Garth were still 5 years away from forming the Teen Titans with the walking retcon known as Donna Troy....and all the Fab 5 were still Preteen-Titans at the time.

In this universe it would seem theyre the same age then and Kara isnt the older one
So now kryptonians are star conquering empire, that was destryed(presumably) by Darkseid, and Braniac is AI for kryptonian machinery.

Empire? In many iterations, Krypton has been this idyllic paradise or a dystopian world isolated for thousands of years but to my knowledge this is the first time it's been an interstellar empire. My guess this superior enemy were the new Gods who are even more advanced than Kryptonians.
