The Rimowa became insanely expensive after LVMH bought the company in 2016. Back around 2011, I bought the carry on for about $500. After thirteen years of use case is still in excellent shape and the dings and dents give it 'personality'. It's a pity Rimowa has become a status symbol...I feel like a poser when I take it out now, but I'll keep on rolling for as long as I can because it is so damn reliable.
OMG, I have cheap suitcase and guess what 15 years still fine..... I mean I got the idea of luxury suitcase. But seeing it was thrown up down on the plan and bus. Fk it, rather just by cheap decent suitcase so I don't have to feel bad.
Cost is subjective and I'm fortunate to have made a good enough living as a banker so that dropping a few grand on 3 Rimowa cases did not break the bank. Besides, dings and dents gives aluminum luggage character; that it's been well traveled....like me :;-)

Thanks for this review. I carry a matching set of LV rolling case + keepall (duffel) but that's not always appropriate depending on my destination. For example, business travel where I want to be more discreet. Also, island travel where my bags may get wet. I still want a luxury experience with my rolling case, and this review helps me to put Rimowa at the top of the list for an alternate bag. Thanks again!
A couple years ago or so I bought a custom classic cabin for about $2k usd. Taking it on trips domestically and to SE Asia and twice to Norway. Impeccable performance. It does get more attention wheeling it around airports of the world than I sometimes care for. Probably in part due to the colors (I got yellow wheels and handles for my customization.
i have the same one in black i bought in a GOODWILL , i notice your bag and mine have little airpanes on the tabs around the luggage, some people tell me its a fake one, but if its fake its built great.
It’s not a fake and that little “airplane” logo isn’t an airplane but it is the Lufthansa German Airlines logo, which is a crane. They have a collaboration with Rimowa and sell Rimowa luggage with their airline logo on it. Hope that helps.
I highly doubt it's fake because what you're describing sounds like one of the Lufthansa limited editions. If you found that at a thrift store, you hit the jackpot!
Gotta keep it. I've had my Rimowa Topas checkin case (size NFI) case for 16 years, 200-300 flights & a year backpacking with it strapped into a Mystery Ranch Sling backpack, it's never failed. I regreassed the swivel pin/bearing on the wheels. There's dents, some I bashed back in, stickers & flight tags... it's mine. For life. It's a tank. Just sucks LVMH bought it up & now charges more for what seems an inferior product. If I buy another, it'll be an older pre-LVMH one, when the product was amazing & the brand was built on quality, not perception of 'luxury'.
Rimowa sells (or at least used to as of a couple years ago) a sticker book too. Since my classic cabin custom looks so darn good I don’t want to risk tarnishing it yet with sticker decor.

I like the no face no case concept. Keep creating as you please. I look forward to more videos and probably will be purchasing a RIMOWA luggage.
I love the style of this video, and love the Eames as well. Make some more content!
Subscribing would be really cool.
The eames is not original
You had me at “I like buying cool shit”
Great video format and editing! Appreciate how to the point this was.

I noticed I get different treatment at the airpot with this bag
@@vlogaboutnothinghow so?
I think it just makes people curious.
Great content ! And thanks for the valuable info on repairs.
Love the stickers.
you didn't even mention the Lufthansa badging on your suitcase. it makes it even more rare.
Didn’t want to make the video too long, I thought about it though.
What’s Lufthansa?

You are correct….and the wheels are amazing and the handle is amazing.
Serious question. Does it do ok when your sitting on it. I have the classic s as well and I’m so afraid of breaking it.
I sit on this thing at the airport all the time. It's strong and the wheels are replaceable if something goes wrong.
How does someone damage carryon? Checkin will be subjected to all sorts of mishandling, but not carryon
probably didn't happen at an airport

Inflation is what its called
I like cool shit too
free bag...😂😂😂
nice vid
what happened to the lifetime guarantee?
fake shit everywhere 😂
If you buy a bag in Europe it’s not covered for repair in North America and vice versa. Mine is from Germany so it wasn’t covered in North America.
Bud, Sponsorships don’t come when you ask you need to earn it. Your outro is missing an R - SubscRibe
of course...
Well you can't beat Samsonite and Skyway luggage from the 60's and 70's . Also Hartmann luggage from the 60's far exceeds all Rimowas
:)
"please subscribe" beggers
yes
Supreme is such an annoying brand... made for Hype Beasts !
I might be really poor.. cause it’s my first time hearing about Rimowa and it’s 2024.
@@BlackKing89-l1u You don’t need money, just good taste. I got this thing used on eBay.
Subscibe? Really? There's an R in there.
Mistakes happen. In fact, they happen so often that they have a word for it called a “typo”.
You cant spell subscribe
“Subscribe”….did I get it right?
Im looking for a used one, even damaged at a good price. 🥲
