1985..I was carrying this on my boombox on my shoulder, cassette tape. It was unreal how fresh and gritty it sounded. I was a big Saxon and Iron Maiden and Metallica at the time, but this one from Metal Church just blew me away..I'll never forget it it's sooo great.

saw METAL CHURCH open for METALLICA on their MASTERS tour just a couple months after cliff passed in a 3000 seat venue-the power went out towards the end of their set and the drummer played an acoustic solo for @ 10 MINUTES !!!
They have gotten some recognition over the years but sadly never got the air time like other big names. Underrated a bit maybe. The most underrated band of all time would have to be "Riot" and the Fire Down Under album.

Metal church the song is a fucking heavy metal hidden gem and it’s now my new favorite heavy metal song this song is the definition of metal great classic 80s metal.
As a young drummer in the 80’s, this song changed my life. Never again would I accept the drums being pushed to the back of the mix when I recorded and I always used this song as a reference. Side note: Producer Terry Date went on to produce Cowboys From Hell.

Ha! I saw this reaction video pop up on my recommends and came here to talk about how they would just KILL in a small venue, amazing, amazing band. Saw them in a little hole in the wall called Annies in Cincinnati sometime in mid 80s. Just an amazing show and the drumming just blew us all away. Thanks for the reminder of a great band.
