WOW. I LOVE IT! That's so cool that you vibe to The Smiths! Yes -Morrissey has a distinctive voice - quite unique. Jim Morrison isn't a bad comparison because they both convey a dark sound - but Morrissey is self-depricating, tongue in cheek. He's got a dark, wicked, sense of humor. The Smiths were huge but they weren't played much on mainstream radio - you'd hear them on what we used to call College Radio or Alternative radio stations. Maybe they were one of the first huge bands that came out of alternative radio and weren't played on regular radio (not counting if you lived in NYC or California those cities always had stations that were edgier) - PLEASE come back and do more videos and more Smiths! Miss your videos. There is a Light A Light That Never Goes Out, This Charming Man, Ask, Please Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want, Headmaster Ritual - there are MANY greats to discover.
Next month it will be 2 years since I saw lead singer Morrissey in San Diego and it was incredibly exciting, and his band is amazing! I grew up near San Francisco and so have seen a zillion😉 concerts there and Morrissey’s made it into my Top 5 Best Concerts I’ve EVER seen (and I’ve seen the Beatles Live). I don’t know how he does it but at the time he was 64 and his voice was still perfect! I adore The Smiths but Morrissey’s solo work is as stellar and timeless as his stuff with The Smiths!❤
I never got to see the Smiths live but we see Morrissey every time he tours. He’s such a unique performer, seeing him makes me feel like what I imagine Elvis concertgoers felt.
Superb reaction. I'm really happy that you appreciated the transition at 3:53, it's one of my favourites. It's great to see younger people getting into the music I loved in the 80s. Quality never ages.
To add to the list This night has opened my eyes Girl afraid Nowhere fast Barbarism begins at home Shoplifters of the world The boy with the thorn in his side Ask …. And many more! For a band only around for 5 years - there rarely is a bad tune (fact)
The UK post punk/ indie scene of the late 70s early 80s was my youth ( born in 69 ), it was full of great bands. I think you would really like Gang of Four - damaged goods.
Thanks for the great reaction, please do more Smiths and Morrissey, Rubber Ring, What She Said (live from the Rank album/tour) Half a Person ... Love from Australia!
Other great Smiths songs: Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, Panic, Girlfriend In A Coma, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, This Charming Man, Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, The Queen Is Dead, William It Was Really Nothing, This Night Has Opened My Eyes, ...
Yes more Smiths. Their sound is due to lead signer Morrissey and guitarist extrodiniare Johhny Marr. More songs : Panic, How Soon is Now?, What Difference Does it Make?
The Smiths' songs: Panic There is a Light That Never Goes Out This Charming Man Ask There are good Morrissey solo songs. I suggest Suedehead and Every Day is Like Sunday.
Great song. The first few seconds amps.me up. I remember er first hearimg.this on a left of the dial radio station back in the mid to late 80's. I recorded.the radio show onto a cassette. This song was one of of two Smiths songs I caught. It was a college radio station from Melbourne,FL of all places, WFIT.
"Panic" is one of my favorite songs of theirs. I am a Smiths fan but have seen Morrissey only once. He has developed some troubling hard right views (and somewhat racist and anti-immigrant)
bravo wilburn mi piacciono gli smiths in Inghilterra sono più famosi dei Beatles vorrei che facessi tu una reazione sugli echo and the bunnymen, sopratutto i primi dischi con stima, ti saluto
"Stretch out and Wait" (2008 Remaster) is the Smiths doing a R&B song. This one highly under rated. There are different versions. This one is perfect - th-cam.com/video/VXNnxoWOa1E/w-d-xo.html
@@kevinvegas1916 Yeah! Doesn't he have a regular gig In Vegas? Also - Marr was a VERY important guitarist. When they hit, Marr played with SOOOO many artists - all different, in the 80s and 90s!
“There’s a light that never goes out”!!

Get ready for the ride!!
Yes, more Smiths. "Girlfriend in a coma" & "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want"
Great reaction! The smiths always stayed indie and never got the fame that some of their counterparts but were more influential.
One of the greatest Smiths songs ever is "The Headmaster Ritual" you'd love it!
GREAT suggestion!!!❤

This song is about his relationship with the music press... The Smiths - the Cure and Depeche Mode where the holy trinity of music in the 80s
I’d stick thethe and talk talk into the mix as well

Yes, this is just their sound. Morrissey still sounds like that. The Smiths were a huge influence on Andre 3000 of OutKast. I like you liking them 😊

Massive catalog, definitely not a one hitter!
Morrissey is the singer

The fact that the Doors come to your mind while listening to the Smiths proves that you don't know shit about popular music of the last 60 years.
