Just wanted to post this message and shoot over a thank you! A byproduct of your observations and close ups of the circuitry helped me resolve a nice f-up I did (with my Left micro-switch stopped working) where 2x Resistors & 1x Capacitor had fallen off while I replaced a faulty scroll wheel encoder from the crappy Kaihl that ghost scrolled to the TTC Gold Dustproof one. For the life of me I could not find any useful material, then stumbled across this video. Happy to say it's now all working perfectly!
The Finalmouse is made from cheap injected Fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) with carbon fiber as opposed to the norm of fiberglass. The ULX is f-a-r from vacuum molded carbon fiber sheets as you would find in a Zaunkoenig M2K mouse.
.. My preference for an encoder is the TTC Silver, the more tactile the better. I use it for switching weapons. My preference for mechanical mouse switches are the TTC Dustproof Gold 60M. The ULX is supposed to be updated with different adhesion for the battery, the older sheet adhesive as in your video is a dust collector. The update is supposed to correct this problem but we'll see. If not, I'll remove it and use a brushed-on adhesive like rubber cement.
I swear I used to see you all over the comments from vape reviews years and years ago. Now I see you on all the mouse videos and I think some detailing videos as well.
@@thinkforyourself5672 .. I'm still vaping and you? I take my hobbies seriously to the extreme. I want to know everything I can and experience everything with whatever I'm interested in at the time. You've got one life.
@DJaquithFL Yea this uses either the kailh black or Grey for encoder and omron 20m for mains. I know some prefer blue shell pink dots for the switches but I don't want my clicks to be overly light which is why I've been hesitant to swap them. The encoder I kinda want a less tactile one since stronger encoders tend to be easier to stick between notches but dunno yet. And for the carbon yea, but that actual carbon fiber sheeting is most of why the m3k is over 300 bucks. Have fun doing the same for a more "normal" mouse shell without the cost blowing up.
Hi- i couldnt figure out from the video which screws you tighten to fix the mouse button wobble? You didnt really show them screws. Is there anyway you could clarify where these screws are and how to tighten them?
Would you say that the board is interchangable with Starlight 12 Tenz? I wonder if I could "upgrade" it with new internals. It sure looks very similar.
Is it possible to place the ulx medium pcb in a sl12 small housing? I regret buying the medium ulx i wanted to try it out but my sl12 phantom small got scroll wheel issues.
According to finalboy the battery came over specced at 280-290mah. They will try to reduce the weight in that area for future batches by bringing the capacity down to 250mah and using a lighter battery foam.
The voltage on the ULX battery is 3.87 instead of 3.7. I wonder if that's why they are saying it's overspec. That would make the ULX battery have .05 watts more than the 3.7v batt.
can anyone help me out with where i can find a scroll wheel replacement for this mouse.. i want a rubber wheel but not sure if the air 58 or UL2 wheel will fit. please helpppp.
can anyone tell me if i can swap the internals between ultralight x and a starlight? if yes, does it matter if one is M and the other S or is the pcb the same?
I'm trying to repair my mwheel, does anyone know what adhesive they use to keep the pcb in the mouse? Gotta pull the whole damn thing out to replace the encoder
@@Jon_Cruz89Is that what you did when you changed the scroll wheel? Planning to do it with the ULX, just unscrew to see the PCB and I don’t need to unscrew it to take out the scroll wheel? just angle it till it falls out?
anyone know if there are bigger skates that run along the whole bottom thyat fit? it would help cover up the double sided tape on the battery to prevent dust build up.
I just took some 3 inch carbon fiber tape to cover the bottom. it's nice and rigid and has good adhesive. I cut the perfect piece to fit on the bottom. it sits lower than the skates and doesn't block anything.

Isnt the bottom adhesive and the white and red cables being addressed for batches 3 and on?

the day it becomes 7-10gr, 50mah would be their next destination
@@sakanhango3105 tbf if u combine it with wireless charging mousepads this might not even matter.
How do we test it? Compared to the other stock 250mah they use ok the starlight 12 this one in the ULX is smaller. Also it’s marked at 250mah 🤷🏼♂️

unrelated but what is that blue carbon fiber Fnatic Bolt i see?
Can i replace up shell from this mouse for my starlight tenz ? I prefer magnesium shell.

the adhesive what do you want to know? how to remove it? i did it in the teardown.

Composite is PA-CF its nylon / CF
so the scroll wheel pops right out? you don't gotta unscrew anything?
you will need to unscrew the pcb and main shell
@@Beardedbob im scared to mess something up, is there a timestamp in the video that shows how to do it?
Yes you can just pull it out at an angle.

You can actually put any skates you want because the bottom is completely flat.. you no long need a specific size.

Could you do about Vaxee ax outset wirreless that pro player zywoo is using it. Thanks
zywoo skilled player but this is not normally
When do we start to see diminishing returns on this weight reduction craze?
It’s up to you, what weight don’t you like
Weight doesn't have a diminishing return
Which size is this one? Small or Medium?
Medium. Small and Large have not been shipped out yet. That will be in Feb/Mar.
Medium
I can't stand Chinese Omron 20s. The first thing I did with my GPX is replace that trash.
Did the same. Japanese Omrons?
You can't stand the feeling of it or the quality of it? I have had 3 mouse with the same switches having crazy double clicking issues
Im appaled that a skeletonized mouse like that still needs you to peel off the skates to get inside of it
Your scroll wheel is rubber????? Why is mine hard slick plastic. I can't stand it.
I think it's not allowed to hide the colours of the cables and/or wrap it for regulation purposes.
Sole companies have but could be
They are making the cables black for the next batches
Good job on guessing 7grams

Is this the same scroll wheel dimensions as the Air58, or the UL2? @Beardedbob
