Thanks for the video on this car. I’ve been waiting for this to be released and Santa was kind to me at Xmas and I got one, I raced this same car back in the day so it was a pleasant surprise to the TA release it. I plan to upgrade the steering to use team linkages and ball joints and buy 2mm longer drive shafts to make them fit better in the out drives, I did this with my RB10. Can’t wait to build it once the parts arrive. Also, good call on the shims, I’ll get more of those too. 👍 Thanks
Thanks for the time lapse build and tips. Good looking paint job 👍 Still weird these approximations on the manual 😢 I agree that they should have spaced out the releases 😅 Happy New Year 🎉🎆🍾
That body looks killer!!! Just finished mine last night, went with the box art. I also watched his video on the shocks 1/2” tubing was perfect, thanks. Love watching your vids
Ya for most it’s hard to keep up so close together. Yep. Really should have spread the releases more so most could keep up. I’m sure some will be available for a while. I want the ds, gold, clear, clear tc, and now the gt. I like to collect. Cheers to all the great videos!
I raced the team car back in the 90's, if they had done one with the black tub I'd have jumped on it, but without that it's not the team car... odd decision, guess they had a ton of gold tubs lying around?
Nice build and thoughts. I am also amazed at the AE re-release onslaught. Just, bing, bang, boom! Here they come, look out! Still really cool that they're doing it though. They really should box a Stealth kit though. IMO. Happy New Year!
You brought up every query I had with mine this week. I didn't even open the new manual to build this, I just used my old RC10 PDF, and noticed the shaft spacers missing, and the shims for UJs are different. E clips and roll pins haha what a pain! I'll be putting in rear shock limiters from my FOX, they'll work ok. The wing buttons are definately not the ones I like. I put some Rusti Designs shock towers on, and a Jconcepts steering servo brace and steering assembly. Tekin ESC and 19t brushed Team Associated motor. I was going to put the Joel Johnson motor in, but changed my mind. Thanks for the video, HNY to you and family again!
The buggy looks great Ari! I am with you, I hate that they did so many so fast, no way I could keep up that pace so I just gave up on them. I may get a Halsey at some point but not in a hurry to. They really need to sit down and build a car from their manuals before sending them all out! Terrible QC on them!
Your dogbones so close to the rim of the cups the will definetly pop out in while driving. There are bigger forces at play as when you move your suspension up and down on your desk, and 1 hit from above on the tire while flipping the bone's going to get spit out.
@RCRetro only option is shimming. Or a longer dogbone. Really wonder if these driveshafts/bones are the same length as they were in the past. Edit: not familiar with old rc10. Do they have roll-center options? Using an inner hole on both sides and increasing negative camber might workt too, but that is a semi-optimal solution as it changes your roll center. But that's definetly cheaper than going for other driveshafts. And as you're only driving for fun that might not even bother you.
I got a Genova 2wd buggy. It was a very easy car to build. It was designed by Masami. He was the guy that worked with Team Associated back in the day. I did get this car before Team Associated released the team car. I did paint my car like you did. I painted it in green and got the Masami decals from MCI in Canada. The Genova is basically a plastic RC10 with bearings. It is also cheaper. All of the major parts are already assembled. Even the linkages are pre-set. A very fast car to build. Which one is better? I do not know? Sounds like a future video to me. Thoughts?
Ari, check the diffs side to side play in the trans. Mine had a lot of play. I had to order shims from McMaster Carr to take most of the side to side play out. This is also something AE should've addressed in this kit as well.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.. I see what you are talking about. WOW.... So what size shims to I need? Same size as the ones used for the UJ's... 1/4 axle shims I assume?
I share your feelings on the speed there putting the rere’s out. By feb they will have done everything up to the B3 😂 then thats it. Nothing else to look forward to.
I agree. If Team Associated delayed some of the cars I would have probably bought them all. But got burnt out on all the different editions so quickly released one after another.
Thanks for putting this review up. Have been away from racing for a few years, but this release got me hooked again. All your tips will definitely save me some headaches...............I have a 19T motor as well..........what tooth pinion are you using? Thx Mike
I love the rereleases but I agree... I just saw that the RC10GT is coming out and its one of my favs and I want it but I might miss out because I have to much into my other rerelease cars. I think there whole goal is to have new part availability so you don't buy from Fan RC or someone like that to keep your vintage car running...
The DS was a brilliant and timely move. DS class racing is springing up all over and the team car should have come out a while ago. The original rc10 is cool but the world's and team car are a huge jump for performance. Let's face it, look at the vintage market, you can get the original control arms for nothing as compared to the factory upgrades or aftermarket which cost $$$$$. Now, with the release of the team car, we can get all the goodies as repops. Who cares if they're original.
Is it really... I've seen it and thought about it but held off because I hear the AE is going to release the graphite kit as well.... hmmm maybe in the future I'll get my hands on one.
Yeah it totally feels to me like Associated are releasing too much too fast like they are desperate to cash in as much as they can... I can't afford to buy 650 dollar cars one a month!! Along with all the other manufacturers releasing stuff it just makes it so hard
LOL... saw that yesterday... as a tease... Just a black scree with the sound of the nitro motor revving... I don't have any experience with Nitro so... this might have to be a first..
Thanks for the shout out. I've been watching for a while and love to hear your perspective on vintage RC. And the car looks great! Bob.
Another great build, good to see the issues in the manual and the body looks excellent!
That looks so good!
Came out awesome! Thanks for the building tips.👍🏻
Totally agree with your thoughts on Associateds schedule of releasing the kits... Great video Ari and Happy New Year
Came out great brother
Your super fan can't wait to see you race it.
Looks great, Ari.
This is such a great channel.
This came out sick. Masami FTW
That looks awesome 👍 happy new year 🎉
Happy New Year ! I’m a new fender bender
Thanks and happy new year to you as well. see you in the spring...
Vary nice. Happy New Year to you.

Reminds me of putting my brand new rc 10 together over 30’years ago .
That body looks killer!!! Just finished mine last night, went with the box art. I also watched his video on the shocks 1/2” tubing was perfect, thanks. Love watching your vids

Great car i need one 😮
Nice build and that bodyshell looks awesome! Happy New Year to you dude!!

i agree ... the team car black chassis was thinner and lighter
Nice build and thoughts. I am also amazed at the AE re-release onslaught. Just, bing, bang, boom! Here they come, look out! Still really cool that they're doing it though. They really should box a Stealth kit though. IMO. Happy New Year!
I think that's a great idea. Just sell the stealth.

10BL60 is a brushless esc
@@AsurasWrath164 my mistake, that was for my Yokomo SO2.0...TekinESC I meant, was building 2 cars this week
Awesome!!
Your superfan says I think they should do what they're doing.😀

Noticed this as well! Needed to have some larger shims on inside of bearings..
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.. I see what you are talking about. WOW.... So what size shims to I need? Same size as the ones used for the UJ's... 1/4 axle shims I assume?
@RCRetro I went with stainless 316 shims. Size 5/8x3/8. Thickness i used is: 0.10, .005, and .002. Hope that helps.

Curious on the servo connection….. why not use a ball end with ball cups on both sides? Then that way, you wouldn’t have to shave your servo.
Just now need yokomo to do a rere of the 93 dog fighter

So this is the car that they brought back out which has fullball bearings.
Now if we could only convince losi to do the same.

GT next
Please get the Fan RC graphite. Far superior to any of the associated kits.

Nice job. Should have dyed the parts.
And then the rc10t gt nitro truck gets dropped.. 🤨🤣
