MS actually did a survey regarding the batteries and it came back as a majority preferring installing and replacing their own batteries over having a built-in battery
Yes. Replaceable batteries are far better because all batteries degrade over time and built in batteries become terrible as people use their consoles for many years.
You can swap replaceable batteries whenever you feel like it and even if you don't want to keep buying batteries, you can just buy rechargeable batteries.
Not to mention rechargeable batteries can have a much higher capacity. The built in battery of the DualShock 4 was 1000 mAh IIRC. Whereas you could buy 2 cheap rechargeable batteries (2000 mAh each) and use the Xbox controller with 4,000 mAh.
4 times the capacity + flexibility of being able to swap in new batteries immediately
Always good to have options...u can use ur xbox controller past it's generation unlike the sonys...u can also use the controller with pc. So having removable batteries is what a lot of ppl want for those who want to keep using their hardware past a generation cycle. If anyone has had a phone over 4 years with a internal battery u know how fucked u are when that battery fails and no longer holds a charge or charges at all.
@@Leanzazzy that’s always been my argument. Most people will not know how or be able to swap an internal battery, no matter how sleek the new PlayStation controller is, but anyone younger than ancient knows how to remove a cover and swap AA’s. Then there is also the rechargeable argument.
I honestly don't even get why people are so mad over buying a rechargeable battery or a couple of AA batteries every once in a while
I still use a PS3 controller since 2011. No problem with built in battery. I don't think buying spare batteries all the time is so convenient also buying rechargables is not exactly cheap.
it's worth noting that MS makes their packaging accessible to those with physical limitations, and something they don't get enough credit for.

Budget consoles always get so much unnecessary hate. The Switch Lite and the Xbox Series S are such good deals for casual gamers.

When the title said "console comparison" I was expecting him to put the Xbox series s next to the ps5.
It was actually misleading because the placeholder video image shows an Xbox Series X lying on top of a PS5. I'm willing to bet that this guy did that intentionally to break up the content of the video, leaving the actual size comparison of the PS5 and Xbox Series X for another upload. Gotta get them hits.

The battery thing is probably largely attributed to durability. I've had to replace 3 PS4 controllers during my ownership but zero Xbox controllers.

I have had to replace 3 xbox controllers but it is because of drifting and the bumpers falling off. My ps4 controller has somehow survived. I like having options for rechargable and batteries.
The xbox controller last for good amount of time even with AA Batteries. With the reachable it last for days no reach

The Microsoft Easy Access program is amazing for you then. Series S, Game Pass Ultimate, EA Access, all for 20 dollars a month. You can literally just get the console, plug it in and you will have access to over 200 games INSTANTLY.

XBOX still using the double A batteries or the option for the play and charge kit is smart. That way you wouldnt have through the entire controller out of the battery is keeping a charge anymore in the future. You'd just have to change out the battery.

I hear that some games will have the ray tracing removed on the S version of the game. I don't think it is a truly next gen system if it cannot run ray tracing. You can have ray tracing in a 1080p game.

I'm a PC gamer but want a series s for when I take my games on the go. It's so nice for when you're traveling (I do often) to have that small form factor, and gamepass being able to share your games across platforms makes it that much more enticing

Faster load times, much faster cpu, better frame rates, next gen games, quiet fans, quick resume, it's all still there. This console is just a budget next gen console, but still next gen.

I don’t know why people are complaining about removable battery. As far as I can see it’s a pro-consumer move cause Microsoft allows controller interoperability thus you can use this controller on future consoles and on your PC thus when the battery wears down the controller is still usable

As much as I want to agree with you I can't. (I own a xbox one s and is going to get series x soon). Its 2020 almost all the new device dont have double a batteries. They could have wireless charging or somthing cool like that but they decide to use double a batteries again. It would be okay if they included rechargeable ones in the box but they don't even do that.

To have AA batteries is quite a good feature. You can just change them when they are empty, so you don't have to wait if they get empty while playing
I wasn't to sure where to ask this question. But I was wondering if you might make a video comparison between some of the best construction phones? Maybe a couple of categories for them, between loudest speaker, best battery life, and cool features. It would really help me out in deciding my next phone. i recommend magnet as an app, you can easily resize and reposition windows with a quick keyboard shortcut, or if you have an extended magic keyboard you can reprogram F5,F6, and F13 to F19 to place a window in a certain place

Got it on pre-order on Xbox All Access. £10 a month more than I'm paying already for GamePass Ultimate. I don't have a 4K TV and no intention of getting one, I just want a better quality experience (more in line with my PC) when playing the console in the lounge. Game load times, UI responsiveness, better frames, home media/streaming device, its good enough for me. I would have held off next-gen until its really essential for modern games if the S hadn't come out.

I am totally picking up one of these for my GAEMS Case......a total no brainer. Definitely will have to consider when I need a new controller and if it is bundled with a new game eventually.
I love it how at the end we're admiring the Xbox series X and S and then the slightly thicc boi comes along.

@HUUMETUKKA PERKELE yea it is the way of marketing... Now people will see that and think there isnt much diffrence between this and x. Similar how series x has (and marketed) 1Tb sized ssd but only 800gb of the 1Tb is for the use

I'm probably going to go with one of the xbox's because this is the console gen that I'm heading to collage so being easier to pack up and smaller is a big factor
6:25 I like AA batteries. Never understand why people think having more options is bad. I love being able to swap in a fully charged battery pack in seconds. Still using my og controller from the original xbox one. If a PS4 controller was that old the batteries would barely hold a charge and you would have to keep it plugged in all the time.
AA not user friendly nearing disservice for customers idk cant disrespect Xbox but hands down a bad choice. Think USA base should manufacture rechargeable batteries for them

The thing about this digital only consoles is that is not a good thing for saving money in the future for 2 reasons that really make there purpose obsolete.
1) you have to buy the games at full price most of the time unless Microsoft or Sony gives a discount which is limited to a few games unlike going to gamestop and getting an used one for like 15 bucks, which can save you way more money in the future.
2) storage is the next problem, games are getting heavier and 500gb or 1tb won’t be much specially if your downloading games digitally, also as some one who owned an Xbox one S with 500gb I can tell you it’s going to get over packed with updates and you would probably only be able to have 5 games maximum I don’t want to know what 500gb will look like in a next gen Xbox with heavier games.
In my opinion save up and buy the standard fat one or wait for a slim model and a bunch of game to come out.
@@nihalreddy4417 it wasn’t like that for ps4 Ik the Xbox one s did that and it got packed with updates as well so what I’m saying is that get ps5 because your going to get an update every week ps4 updates were more organized and didn’t consume half your storage. Like each time I turned on my Xbox one s I had to do some stupid update that’s takes up to 1gb. The right thing to do was to creat a new media that can run the game or to do what ps4 did and only download part of the game and run the rest on the disk it takes way less storage.

I think the AA batteries allow for instant power over the possibility of your controller dying and having to go wired or waiting for it to charge in the middle of a multi-player game or any game.

Love the double aa battery. I use duracell rechargeable batteries. So once they die i always have another set to swap out. Takes 5 seconds and I'm fully charged and wireless

I feel like 4K is unnecesary for me atleast. I can't really notice the difference between 1080p and 4K so that's why i'm just getting the Xbox Series S.
