Unpopular opinion: love the fact the batteries can be removed or replaced in the controller
agreed, battery packs have lasted multiple years and work in every controller so you can just recharge like a playstation controller but not be as restricted when it messes up
It sounds crazy at first, but it's actually the more pro-consumer option when you stop to think about it.
If the battery completely dies in the DualSense (as admittedly unlikely as that probably is), you'd have to replace the whole controller, as opposed to a pair of batteries or rechargeable battery pack.

@ricardo9696 when you have more money in rechargeable AA's then the controllers worth, it's a nice feature.

Dude. Continuing to allow the option to use AA's is genius. I've used rechargable AA's for years now and I have to say: the best combination ever. Rechargable, like all of the other proprietary battery packs, fast replacement, comparatively cheap, and ubiquitous standard. Unstoppable my friend.
I know right... The worst case, I just plug in the macro usb as I don't care about being connected to a wire... AA's get better in time which means the controllers battery life will be better
No they are pricks they changed the port on the controller to USB C so I can’t use my old cable, also the Xbox One rechargeable don’t work so they are forcing you to buy their new rechargeables

As long as you get a rechargeable pack or batteries, you'll be fine.
Using disposable batteries is inconvenient and relatively expensive.

I love controlers with AA. it last longer and you just have to have some batteries around for INSTANT charge, no waiting

I think it's really cool and futuristic looking. I love how it lights up green when it's on. I certainly like it better than the all white Xbox Series S.

I am super impressed with this design.
Lots of people seem to be complaining about the lengths to which Lew goes to when describing the items in the box despite this being Unbox Therapy...
To me this is the channel to come to when you want to see everything in the box, not get a brief overview (there are so many other channels that excel at this). There’s also the fact that no one is allowed to actually show gameplay or anything as of yet, just an unboxing lol

Its nice how its backwards compatible to play older xbox games.
Another good thing about Xbox still using batteries is that when the charge packs eventually wear out you can just replace the charge pack rather than have to buy a whole new controller.
Trust me having a controller that doesn’t require batteries is better by a long shot

I like that it has AA batteries. I play without batteries plugged in, and it makes my controller lighter.
I love that they kept the controller design, why change something that was already good. Same controller just updated a few things I like the controller.
They did some minor cuality inprovements, like: usb c, share button, better d-pad, grippier dessing

It's actually better to use batteries for the controller cause charging takes a long time to finish charging and it can be annoying
But at least you don't have to buy new batteries, which is a pain
If you’re just smart ab charging them and don’t neglect charging them, then you’ll never have a problem. If much prefer that over the repeated cost of batteries
@@kaleburns9347 yeah charging batteries have never been an issue with me. You got 2 sets and you keep the rotation of charging when you change out the dead pair and you are always good to go. Helpful for when the batteries die mid game after you ignore the message telling you that your batteries were low 3 different times.
I got an xbox and just bought a charger but I sometimes use batteries when needed.
I prefer rechargeable batteries.
