One thing to consider is that the Duramax with the Allison transmission is unbeatable, I've had Ford, Dodge and Chevy diesels since 2003...never had a transmission go bad on the Allison...the Ford and Dodge truck s I have replaced transmissions

2020 Power Stroke all have 105 hp and 200 ft lb torque more than 75% of Ram trucks (all 2500 and a lot of 3500s are low output 370 hp 850 ft lb with the crappy 68RFE transmission) whereas all 2020 Powerstrokes are 475 hp and 1050 ft lb with a 10 speed transmission. Power Stroke all day here.
IF you're keeping your current truck I'D say wait for the 2020 cummins. you obviously like the interior. but get a 3500 high output with the AISIN. its 100 percent Japanese non FCA. it runs the coldest when towing. for the 2020 power stroke i drove and it didn't feel that special compared to the 19. it had more low end than the 19 power stroke but test drove the 19 cummins and that thing just idled on the road. IF you're going for power avoid it at all cost because you cant tune the aisin transmission so there is no point in seeking high numbers out of it since the 68rfe is trash. if you're going to mod it i would say duramax because you already have a power stroke (if you keep yours). and if youre trading it in then get the 2020 power stroke.
If you're looking at a 250/2500 you're not super worried about numbers. To me at that point its look/luxury. So something the same as the last 4 years or the best interior in trucks? But there are no massage seats with the Cummins... Obviously your subscribers arent bias lol

Stay away from the Ram. The interior is great but build quality sucks, truck is made in Mexico. I had a 2019 2500 that was bought back as a lemon, hood vibrates at highway speeds and you get a ton of wind noise from the sunroof. If you look at the gap between the hood and the top of the grill, it is filled with weather stripping and let’s in ton of air and since the x brace and hood are different materials they are not welded together. Those two things together caused gnarly hood vibrations. I ended up buying a 2019 F450 and don’t have either of those issues. Check out the HD Ram forums, there’s a ton of people with the same issue.

since you already have the 2017 6.7 tuned and deleted I don't think a 2020 will be all that "new" to you....and Cummins makes a great engine but the Ram's don't do it for me. I HATE the new 2020 Chevy's as well....so this is what I'd do....2020 GMC AT4 2500. The only thing that sucks about the L5P is the amount of work and computer swapping you have to do to tune one, at least $6k to crack the stock CPU and TCU BEFORE you can even throw a tune on there. But if you have the desire, that's what I'd roll with next.

I was truck shopping end of year. Looked at all of them. Decided to keep what I have...2014 Ram 3500 Big Horn Cummins and 2016 F350 King Ranch Powerstroke. I dint like any new ones enough to get one. I like the 2020 powerstroke front end redesign...I like the ram redesign and the big touchscreen...undecided on the Silverado. I like Duramax so my choice would be GMC but they don’t have any HD long bed crew cabs (a must for me for what I do) around here....so that’s why I kept what I have. So used to you with a powerstroke Funny to see you in anything else haha. Maybe the GMC DENALI....but that Ram touchscreen is crazy nice. Ram 68 rfe trammy not junk. I pull 14,000 lbs behind it daily. Replaced one after 100,000 miles of work pulling Cat 259 every Day for 4 yrs straight. Aisin better but 68 not junk either.

I’m a ford guy, but the 2020 duramax needs to be cracked and tuned easily like the power stroke. I’ve heard they’re impossible to get into. In your line of work that might be a smart move/ big task to crack the code
If you keeping the 17 as much as I’d prefer you get the 2020 and see how badass the 10 speed is, but a lot of ford guys have switched to the dodge because of the new interior, can complain about the Cummins at all. I love the body of the gmc and Chevy 2500’s but I’ll never like the motor on them. Look amazing lifted. It’s my second option when lifting.
Nobody I am aware of is doing the dodge build. Everyone is GM or Ford. The GM guys all complain about the interior/dash when comparing the ergonomics and options compared to Dodge or Ford. Not my money so I’m voting f450 limited!! Lol
Ive had three duramax trucks two 07s and a 14. I have now a 17 powerstroke, my favorite truck ever. Duramax is a great engine but the new ones are so freaking ugly. Gm dropped the ball on it. Front ends remind me of the family truckster in Lampoons, maybe its just me lol. Since you tune your trucks,Gm encrypts so its sky high for tuning last time I saw. Get a 2020 Ford all the way
