Agree, but when I comment to this reply I can't just mention project farm. These 2 are basically the best tool testing channels that I know of. TTC is great, kudo's to them. Project farm is a bit more variable in his testing, and by God I love the way he tests tools.
@@BinneReitsma I actually haven't seen any Project Farm videos until 2 minutes ago after I read you reply. Definitely good information to be had over on that channel but I work as mechanic by trade and TTC videos are more focused on tools I use every day. Also, I find this testing to be more scientific in nature. I know TTC wouldn't agree with me using the word scientific but it's a more standardized method of testing if that makes sense. Either way, I will be checking out some more Project Farm videos so thanks for bringing that up!

Haha! I find myself rolling my eyes at some of the comments we get when its clear people are defending their money spent. Then I go enjoy content for my other hobbies and find myself doing the exact same thing as you guys! You pretty much have to own ALL of the brands and models before it all disappears and now we honestly couldn't care less who is on top. We're just curious at this point.
@@TorqueTestChannel honestly, I don't particularly care. I know that one brand can't possibly be the best at anything. Milwaukee is a good brand and it makes me the monies. But yeah, the dyed yellow, red, bright green (Ryobi 🤢) guys get pretty militant when they're defending their tools and it's freaking hilarious. Like.. dude. Buying into a battery platform isn't a personality.
It's surprising to see all these stubby impacts so close to each other on the dyno. I have been converted in the last 6 months to a DeWalt fan. The 12v 3/8" and 1/2" are loosening fasteners my Milwaukees haven't been able to bust loosen ever since they were new. Great videos. Look forward to more.
@@michaelchristopher8266used a M12 impact driver on a Ram 2500 lug nuts for fun. Took about 15 seconds to slowly break it loose. M12 Milwaukee tools are tough even if not meant for the job. Im sure the impact wrenches would break it. If a driver that is not meant to break bolts can do it im sure a smaller impact wrench could.
Hey bud I love your testing! But as a scientist I would like to make a suggestion to calculate how much work each tool is doing. 1. Take area under the curve for each tool 2. Subtract the AUC for each tool! This will give you the actual work done per second by each tool. The AUC is quite different for the tools. 3. This will tell us that besides looking at peak power some tools will lose bolts quicker!
I know we're not scientists, but area under the curve for a non function (like not just F of X) custom data set is pretty dang tricky. Can't just plug it into something, appears to be requiring a model/software. We have the average power ranking now that follows this main rank chart and is average torque per second that balances this pretty well though. And is more relatable because it's in ft-lbs and not an area measurement that would be hard for the average person to normalize to any personal experience.

@@harisjaved1379 Yes, over 2,000 test rows of data spit out into excel. But the median runs you see here are about 650 of that, can be extracted from excel/spreadsheet into the software we use to make the graphs. The interval is always taken at 1 second, so using our graph/curve wouldn't be that important as long as you have the raw data/per second import + some smoothing I guess.

Excellent performance out of all of these 3/8" impacts. Since I already have some M12 tools, I won't be buying a new battery platform, but will probably pick up this impact soon. As a auto DIY and doing tasks around the house, I find myself grabbing my 12v tools a lot more often and this would be a great accessory for that.
I have both m12 and matco 3/8 I believe if matco would make a 6.0 battery it could stay at it's full power and make that kinda number all day instead of dropping after a few bolts are taken off. I would recommend either one tho been wanting to see this comparison for a long time. let's see matcos 20v 3/8 against m18 3/8 mid torque
Just replaced my old m18 impact for the 2554-20 and I'm blown away by the power in such a small and comfortable package! Whata bad ass big - little tool
I love my M12 3/8 stubby and adapted it to a 1-1/8" socket and removed the lugs off my dually. That is well above its class and was jaw dropping amazing! But the new tools show that Milwaukee has been sleeping on its lead! Ahem Milwaukee
Everybody at my shop is running Matco cordless tools. They've never had any issues out of them. The Snap On electrics some have had, well.... let's just say they don't have them anymore. Helps too that we have a great Matco guy and he passes along any good deals he gets.
The Orange Matco 16v is on sale right now for $142. Get it before someone at matco realizes they messed up(it’s the whole kit, battery, tool and charger)
Despite the m12 not beating the dewalt, I still prefer it. M12 has a much larger variety of GOOD tools. Also, i haven’t run into any jobs where the m12 couldn’t do the job for my home garage.
I love my m12 stubby and when Milwaukee finally start putting out their gen 3 impacts you watch how fast they climb back up to the top of the charts lol that being said any of the tools in the top 10 on this channel will do the job more than adequately and if it’s in the top 5 we’ll it’s gonna pass with flying colors
I prefer the Snap-on brushless 3/8. Used to be a massive Milwaukee fan but the mag bases and toggle switch on the Snap On make it my go to. If I need torque I just grab my m18 mid torque. There are very few jobs the m12 stubby comes out

Just dont want to tell anyone no to borrow the compacts. They are expensive ,look awesome ,wish i had them. Would loose my mind if a buddy shoved the batt in wrong and broke it.
These little 3/8 guns are all impressive and capable of doing jobs they are not designed for. I think it really comes down to what platform someone uses, their power tool needs and their budget. The main thing the Milwaukee and Dewalt have going for them is a very diverse list of power tools that use the same battery.
I am really happy to have seen this episode today. I just started working as a trailer mechanic and only have a flex high torque and a craftsman impact driver. This would be a perfect in between tool as I often find myself reverting to hand tools because the high torque is too big and the impact driver is too small and breaks socket adapters.
Not sure what kind of trailers you put together and fix ect, but i've put together a good bit of new trailers, and my 3/8 m12 Milwaukee stubby has plenty of beans for all of the rollers, bunk bolts, lugs (just need the right sockets), and everything else. Even lasts a good while with nyloc nuts which it runs down decent. Reccomend it. Not sure about how its gonna work with real stubborn nuts and bolts, but i've also got the mid torque 1/2 which covers 90% or more of all i ever need with automotive small engine trailers ect.
They're hard to find but get the makita gold wobble adapters, not only go you get the benefit of the wobble, but they're super strong. If your local home depot doesnt carry them any more amazon does
Hey TTC can you start doing some 3/4 drive stuff? I would enjoy watching that! Proving yet again tools from the tool truck aren't any better than store bought tools, all the tool trucks only charge more for the convenience of them bringing it to you.
Absolutely love your curves! What have we learned? For a newbie it is now feasible to start with an all 3/8 setup with plenty of torque on hand in ever more compact form. Being cost conscious, one wants compatibillity.
One thing to note is the 3/8 version M12 stubby is 4.8 inches in length vs 4.9 for the half inch anvil version. That smaller anvil trims a little length. And beefs up that ftlbs/inch number
Battery capacity is usually _inverse_ of max amperage on a per-cell basis. AH is a _capacity_ rating, not a current rating. That said, quite a few battery cells are getting up there in both capacity and current ratings. Though the general rule of more capacity (per cell) means lower max current (per cell) is still true.
Baby impacts! Guys, go check out CP, he is knowledgeable about many of the main tool brands. Even if you don't buy the more expensive brands, you will be surprised at what he knows about other lesser-known tool brands as well! 🐺🔧
We have all 3 at our shop and I LOVE my Matco. I can say personally, the Matco is by far tougher and much better warranty. The Milwaukee is half it's age and the front bearing is already going out without a repairman in sight
Milwaukee's warranty is top notch too. I got a battery replaced in about a week and a half. Don't go to repair centers. Send it directly to them. Go to their website and submit a claim. I printed out a shipping label from their website and dropped it off at the dollar general behind my house and FedEx picked it up.
@@jake-mv5oi not to mention, Matco comes to me within 2 hours of having an issue with any of my tools, pretty much no questions asked. He'll either swap it, fix it, or have a loaner.
@@TorqueTestChannel ah. I must have been thinking the -923 vs the -913. I'm not in DeWalt's 20V line (just the 12V dcf901), so I'm trying to figure out which direction to go.
I think if you pinch the battery tabs when installing m12 batteries it might help keep them from wearing out. Yeah, it's a pain, but less so than batteries falling out.
Got my M12 3/8 for £80 ($100) as a new bare tool pretty recently so not feeling too hard done by if the Matco and Dewalt make slightly more power. Awesome tool to use and Milwaukee has a great M12 range overall but good to see some competition.
What is more impressive to me is the fact that people me included are watching (with good numbers) a guy with a bunch of cordless tools hammer on the same bolt in every video.
I have the 20v MAC 3/8” impact that I have completely abused and loved for years, and I have the m12 I gotta say the m12 is much more handy and light for all all day use even if the battery doesn’t last as long.
Well this certainly explains why my M12 3/8 has removed and installed bolts with ease that I could barely move with an 18" bar. 😂 Glad to see people in other tool systems have even better options
@@jake-mv5oi We've got an older snap-on 1/2 inch and the batteries are TIRED, it still hits pretty hard for the first 3 blows, after that she's done for, can't even break loose all the lugs on a UTV before it's out of juice. People, including myself, can't believe how much power this little guy has.
@@curbo34 I have a co worker and he used his MONSTER lithium or whatever old snap on gun, and it would just CHUG along even on Atv lugs...like torqued to 50 ft lbs or less. I get out my 3/8 it zips them right off, axle nuts? i think it would, my mid torque definitely, his MONSTER snap on? Yeah that's junk. Granted its old and im sure wore, but they're not a power house even brand new.
Matco also makes a 1/2 inch version of there stubby impact, would be surprised to see what types of beans it can bring. Always great vids TTC keep up the good work.

Look at Matco trying to make a comeback 😉 Only thing is The Torque Test Channel I really feel like the tests would be more accurate comparatively if we could always use the same mAh on each contender. (Outside of the matco this time bc it doesn’t have other battery) Otherwise you kill the tests my brother!
And someone on youtube told be that the m12 1/2" and m12 3/8" would have that exact same numbers on one of your videos. I guess when you actually use these tools you can tell when they are different.
I'm a professional tool user and have destroyed a milwaukee 5amp battery and a 3/8 stubby within a year of use. Got both back within a week with no fuss and at no cost to myself. Compare that with messing around with a tool truck and there's a clear win for me. Not sure how Dewalt warranty works. I can keep destroying my mileauke tools and they'll keep sending me new ones. It's nice
That Matco seems solid just looking at the tool by itself but when you compare these as tools within their respective platforms the Matco’s desirability quickly diminishes.
Wow DeWalt is seriously striking back these days. I can't get into the 12V line because of the bulky battery design though, and I will stick to M12 for compact tools. I am still loving my 921 though! Definitely my new favorite tool.

YES!!!! Finally!!!! My “Grab My Strong Arm” Stub (If you know, you know) makes his debut!! I only realized this lil fart hasn’t been tested, in 3/8ths, on TTC about a month ago. I was surprised and have been VERY interested in knowing if the same wizardry happens when taking on its 1/2 bro as with mid torques. I’m strapped in, got my doc, my new curved monitor and hitting play now. Ahhhh, yes, I’m home boys, lay it on me!! *Post game* Alright! I’m an even happier owner of the 3/8ths Strong Arm! I have the m12 3/8stubby and it has good power, is small enough, runs bolts on good, takes off a good bit, its a small gun, don't expect miracles, but you also might be suprised. If you need a small gun like this, its a good buy. If you need more? Well i have a m18 1/2 mid torque and it does 90% of all my work. Good in my opinion
Wait have done the newer matco 20v live yet I heard it has a great run time and a lot of power for the size I wanted to buy one although was waiting for a sale, And now I'm not in the wrench turning business anymore
So I’ve got a lot of Milwaukee. I hate the 3/8 stubby. Love everything else. I own two kits from Snap on. A 10-19mm universal impact set, and their 3/8 impact. My shop has every brand in it across all the techs. The snap ons the best. For a 3/8 compact gun, the price is justified. I don’t speak from this guys side. Just a big rig and agricultural equipment tech that uses these tools every day. So idk. And also, the matco is good and you won’t be upset. Just my experience my gun I saw doing things the other brands weren’t doing. For really not much more. I get $600+ isn’t justified to most people for a kit. But if you’re watching these videos you probably an every day use person. Oh and fuck off with the “you wrote a book comments”. 😜
I have the new-ish same generation I think FULL size 3/8ths impact from matco. Got it about a year ago. I used to daily it for tire rotations when my matco stubby pneumatic went out.. suddenly one day my electric matco couldn’t take off small sedan lug nuts. So not even sure how much power it makes now
Nice video, just a heads up that 3000mAh Vs 2000mAh 18650s will almost always perform worse, unless there's a substantial price or age gap between the cells. Optimizing for power output hurts capacity, and vice versa
With battery packs, higher amp/hour cells don't generally give more power. Often the lower capacity cell actually have higher sustained drain rates so they can actually push more amps. Perhaps you have data that refutes this, but my experience has proven this consistently. As an example, a Milwaukee stubby using a 4ah XC pack will have a bit more grunt than a 6ah XC pack on the same tool. Not a lot, but noticeable. Of course, an XC 3.0 pack will blow a compact 3.0 pack out of the water. I don't see much difference between the 3 and 4ah xc packs. But you will sacrifice a bit of grunt for the extra runtime on a 6.0. You won't see any performance difference at all with low drain rate tools. I don't know if this an accurate analogy, but I picture these cells like rolls of toilet paper. The high capacity cells a more linear feet of rolled layers like a heavy tightly rolled TP roll. But the individual layers are thinner and more fragile. The chemistry is getting better all the time, so this may not apply with new cells with different recipes.
The M12 line trumps any flat battery line of tools for this particular tool. There is no point in a compact impact wrench when the battery is bigger than the head of the tool. The M12 stubby is an amazing wrench.
It would be interesting to see if any m12 tools would ask for more current than the xc6.0 can supply. One could parallel two 6.0 ah batteries with an amp meter in the line to see what's the maximum current pulled by a particular tool.
I enjoy your videos but they haven't really told me anything other than the most expensive usually has the most grunt. What I need to know is how much grunt I actually NEED to be able to undo the tightest/seized bolt I am likely to encounter while working on my car at home. Like hub nuts and suspension bolts. Do I really NEED to pay extra for a Milwaukee? Or am I paying for power I'll never need.
My 3/8 Milwaukee stubby is so impressive, I’ve used it to take off many lug nuts, axle nuts, subframe bolts and lots of other high torque fasteners. The new dewalt seems like the best option now. The matco does seem like a great performer but dewalt and Milwaukee beat it out with having a great battery platform.

The real surprise to me lately is how these new Dewalts are doing. Are you guys about to make me buy a whole new freaking platform, and batteries now??? I seriously just bought 2 new M-18 batteries for my 1/2". Also.... have y'all tested the Strap-On 3/8" yet? I've just.... ummm..... acquired one of them. You know... brand new. Like it must have just fallen off the tool truck, and landed in my box. At least that's what I'm gonna tell my wife if she finds out.😁 It seems to do better than the old snappy 3/8.

I've owned the matco broke after 6 months traded it in and bought the miwaukee no problems and seems just as powerful if not more im a full time tech so my tools are worked hard everyday the 2ah batt is a big limitation if you work the matco hard
I wanna see some handheld stand alone hydraulic tools come on the market.. like the fluid, the motor and all built in the tool. Figure itd be pretty beefy if worked.. imagine a cordless that makes over 10k ft lbs .. lol.. the ultimate lug nut fuckelator.
My friend at work has that Milwaukee & I have the ridgid 3/8 sub compact & we both agree the ridgid seems like it’s got more beans even tho the Milwaukee on paper says it does more
I rather have the more compact battery than what the Dewalts battery is. I still rather have the Milwaukee than MATCO or Dewalt or any other tool. Also pneumatics need a different category.
is the IR 2115TIMAX on the horizon? Also, IR dropped the 2146MAX. It's in 3/4" drive but looks to be around the same footprint as the 2235TIMAX but rated at 2000 FT/lbs!
Can you test something from Shinano? Their tools are made in Japan, and seem like good quality. I have the stubby half inch and it has been pretty good.

Despite the m12 not beating the dewalt, I still prefer it. M12 has a much larger variety of GOOD tools. Also, i haven’t run into any jobs where the m12 couldn’t do the job for my home garage.

I love my m12 stubby and when Milwaukee finally start putting out their gen 3 impacts you watch how fast they climb back up to the top of the charts lol that being said any of the tools in the top 10 on this channel will do the job more than adequately and if it’s in the top 5 we’ll it’s gonna pass with flying colors

I prefer the Snap-on brushless 3/8. Used to be a massive Milwaukee fan but the mag bases and toggle switch on the Snap On make it my go to. If I need torque I just grab my m18 mid torque. There are very few jobs the m12 stubby comes out
I have all Snap-on cordless brushless. The 1/2 is stronger then any air impacted in the shop...

Just dont want to tell anyone no to borrow the compacts. They are expensive ,look awesome ,wish i had them. Would loose my mind if a buddy shoved the batt in wrong and broke it.
The Matco seems ideal for someone who uses it all day. The narrower front width would make a difference in tight spots, compared to my stubby.
*MATCO* is awesome in their cordless tools. Also Dewalt is excellent.
These little 3/8 guns are all impressive and capable of doing jobs they are not designed for. I think it really comes down to what platform someone uses, their power tool needs and their budget. The main thing the Milwaukee and Dewalt have going for them is a very diverse list of power tools that use the same battery.
I am really happy to have seen this episode today. I just started working as a trailer mechanic and only have a flex high torque and a craftsman impact driver. This would be a perfect in between tool as I often find myself reverting to hand tools because the high torque is too big and the impact driver is too small and breaks socket adapters.
Not sure what kind of trailers you put together and fix ect, but i've put together a good bit of new trailers, and my 3/8 m12 Milwaukee stubby has plenty of beans for all of the rollers, bunk bolts, lugs (just need the right sockets), and everything else. Even lasts a good while with nyloc nuts which it runs down decent. Reccomend it. Not sure about how its gonna work with real stubborn nuts and bolts, but i've also got the mid torque 1/2 which covers 90% or more of all i ever need with automotive small engine trailers ect.
Do you have impact rated adapters
They're hard to find but get the makita gold wobble adapters, not only go you get the benefit of the wobble, but they're super strong. If your local home depot doesnt carry them any more amazon does

Proving yet again tools from the tool truck aren't any better than store bought tools, all the tool trucks only charge more for the convenience of them bringing it to you.
Absolutely love your curves! What have we learned? For a newbie it is now feasible to start with an all 3/8 setup with plenty of torque on hand in ever more compact form. Being cost conscious, one wants compatibillity.
One thing to note is the 3/8 version M12 stubby is 4.8 inches in length vs 4.9 for the half inch anvil version. That smaller anvil trims a little length. And beefs up that ftlbs/inch number

Battery capacity is usually _inverse_ of max amperage on a per-cell basis. AH is a _capacity_ rating, not a current rating.
That said, quite a few battery cells are getting up there in both capacity and current ratings. Though the general rule of more capacity (per cell) means lower max current (per cell) is still true.

We have all 3 at our shop and I LOVE my Matco. I can say personally, the Matco is by far tougher and much better warranty. The Milwaukee is half it's age and the front bearing is already going out without a repairman in sight
Milwaukee's warranty is top notch too. I got a battery replaced in about a week and a half. Don't go to repair centers. Send it directly to them. Go to their website and submit a claim. I printed out a shipping label from their website and dropped it off at the dollar general behind my house and FedEx picked it up.

I think if you pinch the battery tabs when installing m12 batteries it might help keep them from wearing out. Yeah, it's a pain, but less so than batteries falling out.
Got my M12 3/8 for £80 ($100) as a new bare tool pretty recently so not feeling too hard done by if the Matco and Dewalt make slightly more power. Awesome tool to use and Milwaukee has a great M12 range overall but good to see some competition.
While comparing impact wrench sizes, a wrench fainted and hit the floor in the background.. Another great comparison video.

I have the 20v MAC 3/8” impact that I have completely abused and loved for years, and I have the m12 I gotta say the m12 is much more handy and light for all all day use even if the battery doesn’t last as long.
Well this certainly explains why my M12 3/8 has removed and installed bolts with ease that I could barely move with an 18" bar. 😂 Glad to see people in other tool systems have even better options
It's funny watching my stubby 12v take off lug nuts that other older 18v full size models can't.
@@jake-mv5oi We've got an older snap-on 1/2 inch and the batteries are TIRED, it still hits pretty hard for the first 3 blows, after that she's done for, can't even break loose all the lugs on a UTV before it's out of juice. People, including myself, can't believe how much power this little guy has.
@@curbo34 I have a co worker and he used his MONSTER lithium or whatever old snap on gun, and it would just CHUG along even on Atv lugs...like torqued to 50 ft lbs or less. I get out my 3/8 it zips them right off, axle nuts? i think it would, my mid torque definitely, his MONSTER snap on? Yeah that's junk. Granted its old and im sure wore, but they're not a power house even brand new.

Only thing is The Torque Test Channel I really feel like the tests would be more accurate comparatively if we could always use the same mAh on each contender. (Outside of the matco this time bc it doesn’t have other battery) Otherwise you kill the tests my brother!
I own quite a bit of M12 stuff and everyone always talking about the batteries falling out ...I still have yet to see this and I use them every day
And someone on youtube told be that the m12 1/2" and m12 3/8" would have that exact same numbers on one of your videos. I guess when you actually use these tools you can tell when they are different.
I'm a professional tool user and have destroyed a milwaukee 5amp battery and a 3/8 stubby within a year of use. Got both back within a week with no fuss and at no cost to myself. Compare that with messing around with a tool truck and there's a clear win for me. Not sure how Dewalt warranty works. I can keep destroying my mileauke tools and they'll keep sending me new ones. It's nice
That Matco seems solid just looking at the tool by itself but when you compare these as tools within their respective platforms the Matco’s desirability quickly diminishes.

Wow DeWalt is seriously striking back these days. I can't get into the 12V line because of the bulky battery design though, and I will stick to M12 for compact tools. I am still loving my 921 though! Definitely my new favorite tool.
P.S. No interest in the Matco due to price and battery. At least it actually performa and isn't insanely priced like some tool truck brand cordless.
@@802Garage yea stay away from the Matco couple of techs at the dealership I work at are dealing with battery issues and the tool trucks guy response is " have you tried cycling them?" Which they have and in turn he says "well let's just give it some time and go from there" that was 3 months ago

I was surprised and have been VERY interested in knowing if the same wizardry happens when taking on its 1/2 bro as with mid torques. I’m strapped in, got my doc, my new curved monitor and hitting play now. Ahhhh, yes, I’m home boys, lay it on me!!

I have the m12 3/8stubby and it has good power, is small enough, runs bolts on good, takes off a good bit, its a small gun, don't expect miracles, but you also might be suprised. If you need a small gun like this, its a good buy. If you need more? Well i have a m18 1/2 mid torque and it does 90% of all my work. Good in my opinion

So I’ve got a lot of Milwaukee. I hate the 3/8 stubby. Love everything else. I own two kits from Snap on. A 10-19mm universal impact set, and their 3/8 impact. My shop has every brand in it across all the techs. The snap ons the best. For a 3/8 compact gun, the price is justified. I don’t speak from this guys side. Just a big rig and agricultural equipment tech that uses these tools every day. So idk. And also, the matco is good and you won’t be upset. Just my experience my gun I saw doing things the other brands weren’t doing. For really not much more. I get $600+ isn’t justified to most people for a kit. But if you’re watching these videos you probably an every day use person. Oh and fuck off with the “you wrote a book comments”. 😜
I have the new-ish same generation I think FULL size 3/8ths impact from matco. Got it about a year ago. I used to daily it for tire rotations when my matco stubby pneumatic went out.. suddenly one day my electric matco couldn’t take off small sedan lug nuts. So not even sure how much power it makes now

Nice video, just a heads up that 3000mAh Vs 2000mAh 18650s will almost always perform worse, unless there's a substantial price or age gap between the cells. Optimizing for power output hurts capacity, and vice versa
It might not be as powerful, but I don't lose any sleep carrying around my little black makita impact
With battery packs, higher amp/hour cells don't generally give more power. Often the lower capacity cell actually have higher sustained drain rates so they can actually push more amps. Perhaps you have data that refutes this, but my experience has proven this consistently. As an example, a Milwaukee stubby using a 4ah XC pack will have a bit more grunt than a 6ah XC pack on the same tool. Not a lot, but noticeable. Of course, an XC 3.0 pack will blow a compact 3.0 pack out of the water. I don't see much difference between the 3 and 4ah xc packs. But you will sacrifice a bit of grunt for the extra runtime on a 6.0. You won't see any performance difference at all with low drain rate tools.
I don't know if this an accurate analogy, but I picture these cells like rolls of toilet paper. The high capacity cells a more linear feet of rolled layers like a heavy tightly rolled TP roll. But the individual layers are thinner and more fragile. The chemistry is getting better all the time, so this may not apply with new cells with different recipes.

My 12 3/8 has been lacking power lately that I have noticed and have been considering replacing it with a matco or Snap-on
The M12 line trumps any flat battery line of tools for this particular tool. There is no point in a compact impact wrench when the battery is bigger than the head of the tool. The M12 stubby is an amazing wrench.
When the hell is Milwaukee gonna make an m12 battery with 21700 cells let’s get the ultimate max power out of that thing.
The batteries have to fit width wise in the handle of the tool, which 21700's being 21mm in diameter.. wont :(
It would be interesting to see if any m12 tools would ask for more current than the xc6.0 can supply. One could parallel two 6.0 ah batteries with an amp meter in the line to see what's the maximum current pulled by a particular tool.

I enjoy your videos but they haven't really told me anything other than the most expensive usually has the most grunt. What I need to know is how much grunt I actually NEED to be able to undo the tightest/seized bolt I am likely to encounter while working on my car at home. Like hub nuts and suspension bolts. Do I really NEED to pay extra for a Milwaukee? Or am I paying for power I'll never need.
My 3/8 Milwaukee stubby is so impressive, I’ve used it to take off many lug nuts, axle nuts, subframe bolts and lots of other high torque fasteners. The new dewalt seems like the best option now. The matco does seem like a great performer but dewalt and Milwaukee beat it out with having a great battery platform.
I’ll take the m12 still. To me the warranty is above all. The performance is still great. Plus the m12 platform is more versatile.

I've owned the matco broke after 6 months traded it in and bought the miwaukee no problems and seems just as powerful if not more im a full time tech so my tools are worked hard everyday the 2ah batt is a big limitation if you work the matco hard

My friend at work has that Milwaukee & I have the ridgid 3/8 sub compact & we both agree the ridgid seems like it’s got more beans even tho the Milwaukee on paper says it does more
I rather have the more compact battery than what the Dewalts battery is. I still rather have the Milwaukee than MATCO or Dewalt or any other tool. Also pneumatics need a different category.
is the IR 2115TIMAX on the horizon? Also, IR dropped the 2146MAX. It's in 3/4" drive but looks to be around the same footprint as the 2235TIMAX but rated at 2000 FT/lbs!
Can you test something from Shinano? Their tools are made in Japan, and seem like good quality. I have the stubby half inch and it has been pretty good.
