    I’ve just bought the contractor pc compact. On my last job I was using 310 tip to spray BM Command urethane acrylic paint. Not a think product. I kept getting these droplets on triggering no matter what pressure 😢
    Called a Graco tech department and they told me that the paint required minimum .016 opening….
    I am amazed you are running a 308 tip without issues. ❤

    Hello Painting by Josh.
    To date, my sanders have taken forever to sand down to bare timber window trim.
    I gave up and used a grinder heaps faster results but it is to easy to grind too much ending up with a few dents in the trim.
    I scrap the corners when the grinder can’t reach.
    I have one orbital sander and one sander with a rectangular pad maybe 20cm long.
    At each end pf the rectangular pad, sheets of sandpaper are held in place by a metal clip almost like a clipboard are held in place.
    I keep breaking the sheets.
    Thank you. 🙏🏼🙂👍🏼

      @seamuswarren hi, sanding the boards back can be a long process. A good quality sander and sandpaper will definitely help. The grinder is a lot quicker, but like you said, you can gouge the timber real easy. Thank you for the message 🙏

      @@seamuswarren what is the reason you are sanding it back to bare? Have you got a linbide blade. Sorry for the late reply. Appreciate the message🙏

    I noticed the hinges wern’t taped and that you spray the doors still hanging. Do you replace the hinges or something? And do you spray the door at the same time as the frame?

    • @paintingbyjosh
      @paintingbyjosh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ihavequestions6302 I do a lot of repaints, so a lot of the time the hinges are already painted. Yes, I spray at the same time, frames first, then the door 👍

    when its time to paint the walls, can you spray paint straight over the semi gloss/ gloss on the walls thats close to the trim? or will you notice the sheen from the semi gloss threw the low sheen paint on the walls?

    • @paintingbyjosh
      @paintingbyjosh  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Josh, iman old school painter transitioning to spraying woodwork. Can you answer for me please. Do I need to be concerned about hitting the wall with enamel? Does it flash through or cause adhesion issues for the wall paint?
    I've watched alot of people spraying and no one seems to focus the edge of trim. Isn't it patchy or do you go around an cut the sides of door frames after? Cheers in advance

    The "atomization" factor is HUGE. I like to spray industrial level water-based Alkyds on residential new builds for how well it sets even when spraying fairly heavy and then 2nd/3rd costs give that old school enamel finish

      Took Dulux long enough to tell painters that though, in fact they said nothing til they came up with other products.
      Bunnings are the biggest buyer of that product so the binders used in it were designed for home use for people brushing and rolling and not trade people spraying.
