Rudy Cooper think a big sporting event are interesting anyway, I don’t like America football but if I ever desire to go the the US I would probably go see a match, or maybe baseball.
Chirstiania was a military facility, but not any time recently. It is the remains of a star fortification. Old castles with high walls and tall round turrets were made to defend against archery, catapults, and rams, but they quickly went out of fashion when cannons came along, for which they only served as target practice. Star forts had low walls, stone over earth, angled up to deflect cannon balls, in a pointed configuration to give coverage over all of the approaches. Modern artillery, in turn, put the star forts out of business. If you look at an aerial view of Copenhagen, it becomes very obvious that this is what Christiania is. To the north, across the water, you can see the main star fort, labeled Kastellet. Chistiania would have served as the outer defenses, two rings of jagged teeth pointing mostly southeast. If the outer defenses were ever overrun, the defenders would beat a hasty retreat and the Kastellet would pound on the invaders till they changed their mind. The configuration suggests they were mostly worried about invaders from the water, especially their nearest neighbors (yes, we are looking at you, Sweden!). You will find star forts throughout Europe and even in America, with Old Quebec City probably the most obvious example.
Welcome to Denmark! I know that you've probably already leaved Copenhagen, but I hope you liked it. The weather is much warmer now and Tivoli is also open. Please let me know if you come back!

Actually, the singer Lukas Graham (7 years) is from Christiania. He's very vocal about the place, and sticks up for the freetown in the media. Also - it's impossible to buy an apartment in Christiania, you have to be invited to live there. Pretty weird, pretty cool also :D

I’m from Denmark and it’s really great to be there I love to see when ppl from other countries visits it 🇩🇰❤️
Hej alle Danskere🇩🇰🇩🇰❤️❤️✨
I saw pics of Copenhagen and Denmark and they are SO BEAUTIFUL
Copenhagen does look beautiful
haha, it is always so amusing to hear non-natives speak danish ZDD
Not as funny as russians trying to speak english
Or Danish people speaking English.
😂
Looove your pronunciation of our words! They’re really tricky to foreigners, so it’s amazing when people actually try 😍 Thanks for the great videos guys and you’re dedication to each country and their culture ❤️❤️
They need to try and say rødgrød med fløde!
Caryn Schwengel A classic 👍🏼
Skål! I'm a Danish-American living in Massachusetts!
Haha we do our best! Glad you enjoyed it 😁
hope you are gonna talk about the bridge connecting copenhagen and malmö aswell :)
great vid!
malmö is my hometown
I visited it July 2019 from Minnesota. Very nice but a little expensive. $5 for a street hot dog. To save money I stayed in a hostel, rented a bike and bought food from 7-11 Stores. I lost my wallet, it fell out biking, but it was turned in to the police with all my money still in it. Thanks Copenhagen!
Ok
Wow 😮 relax everyone lol 😂 there learning about the place, there not going to get everything right all the time 👀 I also think 💭 they put more into the video then the same places everyone knows already 🤩😃😇 Best couple ever 😘🙏❤️😁☺️
no offense, but like u gotta learn how to use there and their...
Lol I live in Denmark and they are always emotional about everything 🤣I wasn’t surprised
Kara, your video editing skills shine through this video 🤩❤. Addicted to your travel vlogs, stay blessed!
In Christiania about everything you described is true but they don’t sell drugs, they sell only weed and it’s really chill and peaceful place in danmark.
And the weed sale is actually not legal, but happens anyway.
I live in Christiania and we’re so much against hard drugs! There is no school here and only no pictures or video in pusherstreet everywhere else you can photo what you want
Er der ikke en børnehave? Maybe they thought the kindergarten was a school?
Why do you live there , is it cheaper ?
Despite not always being 100% factually correct, I always look forward to your videos.
Unhurried, great production values and always entertaining - good work!
probberly the most accurate video i have seen ..well done guys ....please come back in the summer ....you will have a much better experience
Finally !! 😊 yeah ! I Got included 3 times Wow. I like The Way you write in The local languages every time. Tak for at i besøgte Danmark ! ( It means “ Thanks for visiting Denmark” )
Since I’m born in southern Sweden I’ve been to Copenhagen many times! It really is a beautiful city and you should really visit Denmark!
Lukas Graham was born on a couch in cristania
Who is that
@@rudy1999 that's a famous singer google him 😊😉
@@victorgudmand4592 ..lol. so famous that you have to google him.
Doktor Uzo 7 years almost has 1 billion listens on spotify, but go off i guess

Wonderful video. I hope you enjoyed your stay. If you ever plan to return, make sure to come back during the summer, so you can experience TIVOLI Gardens and the outdoor life in Copenhagen. One of the things that amazes most tourists is that you can swim in the harbour, right in the center of the city. Nyhavn in the summer is a unique experience. I think you did very well with the bicycle ride across town.
im absolutely impressed that you could pull out your phone and FILM inside Kristiania, not to mention that you were absolutely lucky that the guys that walked by didn't took the phone of your hands and made you delete the footage. Also the comments were a little bit judgy about the people there... I brought my grandma to Kristiania and ate some incredible vegan food there, so nothing is all bad there... just so you know.
Your videography and editing are over the top!
Bahaha. The cow map part made me giggle. You guys are so cute. Favorite TH-cam channel of ALL time! 💕
Tak
I live in Denmark. And i didn't even knew, we had a food hall😂😂
That's funny! I also love your Danish punctuation - I always feel like Danish has commas EVERYWHERE (compared to English and dutch, my native language)
Well, you should go out more :D
@@Nynke_K you're so right!😂😂
@@petrisavero4382 i know😂
@@Nynke_K Ohhh don't start. History of the comma rules: coherent set of rules --> it needs to be looser so the old rules + if you feel like the text needs it (after all the comma is used as a short break in a sentence) --> oh now noone know where to put them...eh scatter where ever!
Watching them bike the city and here in 2020 Nate’s taking on the Colorado Trail!
Like your attitude of optimism in everything you do or try... I guess your morale is to spread positivity everywhere.. Kudos to you Guys...
Actually, the singer Lukas Graham (7 years) is from Christiania. He's very vocal about the place, and sticks up for the freetown in the media. Also - it's impossible to buy an apartment in Christiania, you have to be invited to live there. Pretty weird, pretty cool also :D
You guys should take a trip to Sweden while you’re there, Skåne (the south part of Sweden) got some amazing places to go to. For example Österlen, not exactly similar to Stockholm.
Sweden is frikkin beautiful and that is coming from a dane hehehe
Omg i love copenhagen! So sad you could not go to tivoli gardens its amazing!!!
Xoxo from Oslo norway
I'm in Oslo too 😄 lovely weather today, hoping it warms up a tad bit more though
Just got back from Copenhagen and also visited that same bakery for pastries. I, too, was bummed they were cold and quite dense. I visited the La Glacé bakery and it was much better.
I live in Denmark so happy you did this video 😊❤❤❤❤❤
It looks a wonderful city to visit.
Tivoli Gardens was one of the places that inspired Walt Disney to create Disneyland.
5:00 it should be said that the area around Tivoli are really expensive.
Hope you both enjoyed Copenhagen while you were here. Next time you will have to come when Tivoli and Bakken (the world´s oldest amusement park) are open! Best Regards from Copenhagen, Denmark - Maxi and Maro :-D
The oldest amusementpark is also in Denmark is called "Bakken" its founded in 1583, it´s placed about 10 kilometers north of Copenhagen.
I've been to a dining place like that in Oxnard California called the Annex Food Hall & I loved it!!!
can't wait to see this city in September!!
3:01 scanning a ticket on travelcard scanner 😂
Copenhagen is way more enjoyable in the summer!
That right there is summer. Cold weather and rain 😂😂
marcranger if they were there now, they would have warm sun. Well, at least for a couple of days. Hehe! I’ve been there 8 times. I love Copenhagen, even in January! Then, I come home to California and warm up. 😆
@@Nubianette we just had a few days with 30°. Finally ended with a thunderstorm this evening. Guess it's abit strange but prefer the cold over warm weather 😅
Summer is the best day of the year!
I love to watch your program I was born in Copenhagen an I love to see what’s new .
I'm going here in a few weeks and watching this for inspiration ❤
Hope you enjoyed your time there.
Perfectly on time in the bakery for special delivery... we would love to try them because we love them so much! 😍 most of the capitals in Europe are pretty similar and I kind of like it! Food looks delicious 🤤
The district looks pretty interesting and special for sure. It’s always cool to see places like that.
Have a great time in Denmark and safe travels guys! 🌏
You guys inspire me to travel!! Signed up for fare drop and can’t wait to go Spain or somewhere in East Asia!! I’ve already seen some amazing deals ♥️
We are so happy to hear that Melissa! :)
I live in Denmark, so this is rly fun to watch!😂👌🏼
hi! I’m Carolina from Chile and I’m 21. I’m writing a book in Spanish based in Denmark. Do you think we can get in touch (email, WhatsApp, whatever), so you can tell me more about your country?
Can you find out where Bodil Joensen's farm was?
As a Dane who live in Copenhagen it is funny seeing people reacting to the city for the first time
We just came back from Copenhagen

I fell asleep on a S-train on my way home from a nightclub in Copenhagen in my younger days and travelled back and forth the trainline several times before eventually waking up at the central station, the same place I started. Must have visited Copenhagen 4-5 times that night.
Christiana is definitely unique, hope you got to see the view from the top of that church. It's a beautiful view 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Damm as a teen livin in CPH you went all the wrong Places
Depends on what you are looking for, but what do you recommend?
Peter Bak Petersen Tivoli, Bakken, Kødbyen, Nørrebro, Strøget 🙂
Hjalte 123 what are the good places? I am visiting this spring with friends what should i see?
@@lizasaakadze5411 Tivoli, Rundetårn, Strøget, Christianshavn, (Nyhavn - the harbour with many colours, as you can see in the video 🙂)
And many many other places! Actually every place in Copenhagen is beautiful in it's own way🙂
I lived from US and my family lived from Denmark , if you asked what I like the most about the country is the environment everywhere you go are green and clean . The Danish foods and specially the cookies and cake is one the best in the world so delicious .
I saw you guys at the Tivoli Food Market. I was sitting at the Letz Sushi. Great video, you've gotten some misinformations (or misunderstood the information you got), sadly. But great content, keep it up!
OH... Food Hall. I was expecting a Food Haul! haha
Tivoli is amazing! You definitely should go back for it. Great video and editing!
Go to Rundetårn on strøget
The rundtower on strøget Copenhagen
Cost 5kr to go to the top and there is a very good view
I am moving to Denmark this october for two years for my job. I wanted to know about that country. It's really beautiful and peaceful
Been there only once and seems like I have been to most of the part of Copenhagen except Tivoli because of pandemic.. Bummer!!
