    Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Christmas is not illegal, it is a public holiday but the celebration is not celebrated publically like in Singapore 🇸🇬. It is a great country. Try Jerudong Park and go to Kuala Belait, you guys will love it. I was mostly station at Temburong not Bandar Seri Begawan.

The call to prayer made you feel so special not because it was a call to prayer but because it highlighted the differences and the fact that you get to experience a different way of life. I moved to Brunei 🇧🇳 from the UK 🇬🇧 7 years ago. I would say the Government is one of the best things about Brunei, His Majesty The Sultan Of Brunei really seems to care about his people and I have met and spoken to him and his family several times. In 30 years in the UK i never even got close to my leaders and I don’t feel they care about the UK or it’s people at all.
Imagine if we judged Americans for the decisions of their government, it would be a billion times worse. Brunei never killed or invaded anyone.
The religion is very important in Brunei and I think it’s good they value traditional beliefs and the way of living.
It’s a peaceful country, people are generally very friendly and there is very little crime or conflict. People are happy here.
I find it insulting when western countries act superior and say negative things about how the people of Brunei choose to live. It’s not your country, if you don’t like it, don’t go.
Personally I can’t think of a nicer better place to live.
Do visit Brunei, they need the tourists and you will get wonderful memories and experiences here.

I hope Kara feels better soon, I can imagine that being on the move so much and in so many extreme living situations can wear you down sometimes. I loved your comments during the Call to Prayer, as I've grown up in the US surrounded by churches and am used to the loud church bells, but the call to prayer sounds otherworldly to me. As someone who has spent a day in Brunei during a visit to Southwest Asia, I also found the people to be very kind and friendly. Riding with one of the locals on his boat around Kampong Ayer was certainly one of the most fascinating experiences I had on that trip!

I was lucky enough to have a layover in Brunei in 2010 and stay at that hotel the most luxurious one I’ve ever been in! And you are so right the people make a country. Loved it all 😊

I have grown up in Australia in a typical Australian household and had never known about the call to prayer. On my first trip overseas I went to Africa, in those travels I was introduced to "The call to Prayer" I absolutely love it. Even at 4:30 in the morning it is a beautiful way to start the day. I find it an exotic and thrilling way to enter a new day.

Thank you for that intro. You guys have such a huge reach, it’s such a positive thing to explain to soooo many people who haven’t been fortunate enough to travel the world that, contrary to what you hear, most people in the world are lovely, accomodating, friendly and do not reflect what transient government is in charge. Can’t listen to the headlines….

Kara feel better! Nate you did great, love love love “meeting” the people you meet on your journeys; by far my favorite part of this vlog is not food or transportation or stuff but interactions with local people in their home countries. AND!! even Cracker Barrel doesn’t have pancakes that big! ❤️❤️ from Knoxville TN

Nate! Your editing skills on this left me in awe. You talk about the only 7star hotel in the world, and then show a shack on stilts that looks like it is about to fall into the river! The hotel room itself had to be so much better than staying with the family where you had no toilet! What a huge change!
