A real dignified man doesn’t humiliate himself like that. I think that peer pressure plays a major role in that, music is also a tool as one of the scholars said, the music that glorifies filth. Somebody left the faith because of this sin. In Islam, dating is not allowed because it leads to that road which Allah forbade us to go down, getting married to someone can only be done through the father. Many people consider us Muslims as old fashioned for doing this and that getting to know the person before marriage is important according to them, but what is knowing someone? The devil tricks people with that concept.
