      Does the amp sound like the video in person? I'm not digging what I'm hearing tone-wise but I watch other videos on this same amp and hear tones that are great to my ears and I wonder if that's because of post-production.

    Great lil amp. Have the Blues King 12 (15W) and Love it. Only negative, not a fan of the knobs as they're a bit hard to read from a far. Look at these and it's the same. Black knob with a white tiny slash to show where you are. Easy fix, swapped out for Chicken Head Knobs and much easier to see your settings, look great too.
    This Delta King 10 is a real nice option for a small home tube amp for the price.

      I have this amp. Regarding the reverb, I get a terrible hum when reverb is turned up anywhere past 4~5. Add more master volume and it's unbearable. I've read that this is a design flaw with the reverb tank being too close to the tubes. Maybe this is the case maybe not, I'm not an amp expert. I do know that the hum/noise makes the reverb all but unusable.

    • @Orville123
      @Orville123 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertburnes2285 would try adding a ground wire. There may be a small fuse inside that needs cleaned or soldered to make a good connection. You can also try using a ground fault tied to outlet on wall. Have soldered the fuse into the fuse holder to get a good connection prior. Spraying contact cleaner on control switch is always a good place to start.

    Looks so cool. When I was a teenager, in the 1970s, I got my first electric guitar (an SG copy) and amp. The amp was a Noble accordion amp. Yep, it actually said that. I found out later, they were made by Ampeg.
    At the time, the “cool” stuff was all black and made by Fender, but out of my price range, so I settled for an already old Noble tube amp. It looked much like this amp only in black and white. At some point, I got enough money to buy a Fender Blues Deluxe and I actually dropped that Noble off at a Salvation Army.
    MAN, what a mistake. I would give anything to turn back time and have that classic tube amp back in my possession. It would have needed some new tubes and caps, by now, but what looked dumb back then, is super cool now....

    • @bldallas
      @bldallas 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Reid James my real issue was it was too powerful/loud for playing around the house. About the time I sold it, I bought and very good condition 1965 Fender (black faced) Champ. It was my first ever purchase on eBay and I bought it from a local guy, to make sure I didn’t get screwed, for $200. That is still my main amp, as I don’t gig, and I LOVE it! It was fabricated a couple weeks before my wife’s birthday, in January 1965. Wish I would have bought a dozen as they’re now selling for $1500 to $2300 on Reverb. Nice, simple, clean Fender tube amp. Love it.

    I've owned a Blues Jr,. Supro Delta King 12, and Delta King 10. Oddly enough, the Delta King 12 is not a 12" version of the DK10, as many people assume. The DK12 is a 6L6 amp, while the DK10 is 6V6. They look the same, but they each have their own sound. I personally preferred the DK10 to the DK12.
    The Blues Jr. uses EL84 tubes, so is really a different amp altogether than the Delta Kings. EL84's are typically more associated with Marshall than Fender, but I'm a fan.
    I preferred the Blues Jr. out of these 3 amps. I was able to get some great tones out of the Delta King 10, but it was pretty finicky. I felt like sometimes it would sound great, and then the next time I'd plug into it (without changing any setting), it would sound quite different. - I think the Blues Jr is a very underrated amp.

      Blues Jr amps need to have their transformer changed for a good quality more robust one, speaker changed to a cannabis rex or greenback, cabinet upgraded to a larger all pine version and a good set of tubes. Get a used blues Jr off reverb and upgrade those parts and your have a below1000$ amp that is up there with the best boutique amps on the planet! Truly a spectacular amp with those upgrades but stock it's pretty lame. Added bonus is buy a 2x12 replacement cab rather than a 1x12....a blues Jr with new transformer, good tubes and a 2x12 cab with greenbacks and you will never buy another amp.....pure heaven and still not much above 1000$ all in!

All super easy upgrades and being the most popular amp on the planet (most units sold) means there are a ton of after market transformers and cabs available. 500$ for a used blues Jr, 500$ in upgrades and you have an amp that will blow away most boutique amps. I did it as a weekend project, ended up selling my Swart and Dr Z combos. End of the day the upgraded blues Jr sounded as good as my boutique amps and cost half the price. If the amp ever blows all I need to do is buy another blues Jr head for a few hundred and I'm back in business. Boutique amps, when they blow they cost alot more to repair.

      Yep-same basic amp as the Blues King series with different/better external covering except for the 12inch/15 watt model they also deleted the built in effects loop-and all for somewhat higher(?explain this) prices-shoulda bought the Blues King 12 when they were being blown out for $399 as opposed to paying full price for new Delta King 12 which lacks the built in effects loop. It may be skepticism or that I am just an old geezer, but this seems like a marketing ploy to me-remake the outside, drop a feature (effects loop) thereby lowering manufacturing cost (and value), and give it a new name and raise the price-and hope most folks dont notice they are paying more for less in terms of performance because of well, marketing. I am sure Supro execs thought why not, Fender has been getting away with this for decades-Fender makes modern reissues of their classic amps (Princeton, DR, Twin) all made less expensively with PCB boards and yet somehow can’t add a built in effects loop to any of these reissues despite knowing how many players of their amps use effects pedals-why? because of 1) it will add too much to cost of production and their ability to sell the amp at desired price point or 2) because it will disrupt the old school/reissue vibe they think we all want or they want to project of 3) because they arrogantly feel all of us plebes should just be grateful that Fender still makes reissue versions of their old classics and just shut up and not complain about them not offering any new “modern conveniences to these reissues (never mind that effects loops have been around since 1980s (40 yrs)). Rant over.

    The clean channel at the end could have been a LOT better Darrell...one short scale didn't cut it for me pal.
    Regardless, $450 to $650..depending on size seems like a lot of money for a 5 watt amp. I don't really care for the design, and I find the color hideous. LOL..but hey..that's just me. I do like the black and silver ones though.😁
    I do agree with others that a test with both a LP and a Strat would have been nice to hear...but all in all I think you did a very good quick review. But then..you always do!😁👍✌️

    I want one, but not at that price point. I like the roughness of it's tones. However, I just got me a cheapo Monoprice 5 watter Champ-ish clone, and it's got roughness in spades. Well worth the price for that little guy. No features, but it's for the studio anyway.
    I wish the Supro had a second volume for the Gain setting so you could keep 'gain' and 'normal' at the same levels (make it a two channel amp with both channels in unity) and use boost for soloing. As it is now, both of the footswitchable features give you a volume jump. I couldn't make as much use of the features live, because of this. Its one fatal flaw.

    Sounds good but miss my Blues Jr. Diamond '06, $400 otd.
    Floor model didn't work. This was out of a box new.
    People said it was a speaker change away from being a great amp. Linked a worn in Celestion G12 35 and not enough to swap.
    Vol controls were jumpy, though. Great in a shop.
    Hours got cut and it went. still cranky.
    Some one said the best selling tube amp of all time.
    Hard act to follow..

    Where'd you get this, Darrell? Did you buy it? Is it on loan? From where? Did Supro give it to you? That's not really clear so I thought I'd ask. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's wondering about this. 🤷‍♂️ You really should be more straightforward about that and make it clear up front like Shane does @ InTheBlues.
    If something is on loan from a local store, he says so. If Fender or someone sends him something, he makes that clear. You're never left wondering who's behind it and what his motives are for making the video.

      I've never seen him give a less than favorable review for any product.. Judging by the URL provided by his links we can only deduce that he's being sent gear for review and doesn't want to speak badly about product losing traction with those vendors. Perhaps however, he's attempting to allow us all to make up our own minds. I will say i do own the Delta King 10 and it IS an awesome amp, very studio oriented which is cool. Not really the choice for live playing if you need channel switching and all that. You're supposed to dial a tone in and be happy with that until a set break or something. But I do agree, sometimes I just don't really like the lack of details and non-disclosure that seems to be prevalent here.
      SHOULD have been a three band at this price point tbh. The gain - Yeah, this amp should have a way to control the amount of drive in relation to level, not just a switch for GO or STOP. Ditto for boost, but then, it would be a $7-800 amp I suppose. But if you're going to put it in there, don't make it a static amount that the user can't control.

    Lol, Supro sends the same amp to some top guitar channels. THE SAME AMP... and people are complaining with conspiracies because experienced players (the TH-camrs) have some of the same praises. ITS THE SAME AMP. Great sounds, Great looks, good prices. Nice review.

  • @bojanstojkovic3927
    @bojanstojkovic3927 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a nice demo, thanks for that. But I wish some of these reviews would actually point out some limitations and not just praise the product. This is a Class A amp so it will probably clip at a lower volume which is part of the magic but could also be a deal breaker for some people. Also there's no fx loop if you want to run modulation effects while playing dirty that might be difficult. And the footswitch doesn't come with it, it's an extra optional. The amp is also made in China. Nothing major but wish people would comment on these things but I guess they probably get paid to promote the product so they have to project an overall positive image of the product...

    I love those tones. Being a guy who plays small venues 50 - 150 a 5-10 watt amp is essential. I was disappoint about the DI as a great DI can really make life easy in a live setting. Does it just need a speaker simulator like something from radial engineering?

    When you called these a competitor to the Blues Junior I laughed. I was expecting these to be >$1k, if not $2k. But $450-650 is pretty amazing. SUPRO stuff is usually fairly pricey. Where are they making these things?

      It's a repackaged blues king. Nothing changed in the circuit. The sole differences is the tolex and the removal of the effect loop on the 12 version. The new ones are $649 versus $599 for the Blues King.

    Love the lead play and style you put in you videos ( great )! Amp sounds great with LP, was that you pick or just luck? Prices? Cool boxes for the old school players, do they just make an head unit? I would LOVE to see a video of a few of the guitar melody lines you use some of them are beautiful man, I’m like I hear my next song in there lol makes me want to play guitar, all my band members are gone now they were all older than me so I just listen, learn, and keep calluses keeps me with meaning the feeling of not quitting.👍

      I use a tiny Vox AC4tv with one of those cheap Behringer Tube overdrives and it sounds real nice through a telecaster.
      Edit: Forgot to add, I put a 12at7 tube in there instead of the 12ax7 that comes in there originally so I get a tad more headroom.

    Hey, have you played a Laney super cub? My only amps a 195(9?) magnatone 213 and I need a new amp to use reliably for gigs and give the old beauty a rest in the studio only. If you have, any opinion on which of the two would be a better replacement? I’ve had my eye on both but haven’t been able to try one yet. I’d need to get a vibe pedaleither way because I can no longer live without it. It’s become like reverb to me now. Always on. So cool.
