I'm pretty confident that the remaining 5 characters are Petey piranha, Diddy Kong, funky Kong, Pauline, and kamek. However I think funky Kong and kamek are less likely than the others
Kamek and Pauline are the only ones that I doubt, mostly because they weren't in past games. Also because it would be weird to put a mario character in the lowest row because that's dedicated to non-mario ones, so maybe R.O.B

@@pixel3042 as far as past Mario kart games they said the same thing for the tracks and look at how many tracks from tour are in the bcp so I'm pretty sure they mean the same for characters.

Pauline is 100% a lock. Also they'd have to give her a biker suit model like the princesses since she doesn't have one in Tour
I don't know if this is true or not, but im pretty sure Nintendo said its only returning characters, so probably no Pauline

You're forgetting that the characters were specifically stated to be RETURNING characters. This means only characters in past Mario Kart games are possible, so don't get your hopes up too much guys
I agree since EVERYONE on the TH-cam community constantly adding Tour characters and calming Tour as a past game despite the Tour being the NEWEST installment of the MK series.
@@courage1363 that and there's people expecting a bunch of characters who've never been in Mario Kart in any capacity. People are setting themselves up for disappointment. I love "what if" videos and concepts, but people need to keep in mind that's all they are.

I really REALLY want that blue shelled flying coop from the Mario movie to be a character!! if his role is big in the movie I could see him becoming a staple in spinoff games

My top 5 I want to see are Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Pauline, Kamek, and Petey Piranha. I also want to see additional variants for the different characters like the American Mario outfit
E. Gadd needs to get into Mario Kart at some point. He has appeared in multiple games, and when he does appear he usually plays a very significant role. Yet he has never gotten into Mario Kart, not even Tour. Another character that would be cool if it got in, is Paper Mario.

I agree, both of those characters need to be in Mariokart 9 at least. Also, bring in some more obscure Mario characters like Wart and someone from one of the RPG games
I'm betting that the first four remaining slots are Pauline, Kamek, Diddy Kong, and Petey Piranha, and the last one is a toss-up between Funky Kong, Nabbit, and Captain Falcon.

Pauline's 100% certain bc if they don't add her, the fans would definitely be super upset with Nintendo. Also, I think Petey Piranha, Kamek, Diddy Kong, and Monty Mole would probably be coming as well. I hope that King Bobomb comes bc he is my favorite Mario character in the whole universe.
We also need DLC for Mario party superstars with new boards and DONKEY KONG in Mario and rabidds and original link to the past remake and WAVE 5 TO BE A ANNOUNCED

I think it was a good call to hold the characters back. With the first three waves, they used nearly all of their heavy-hitter courses to attract early purchases, leaving the last few waves seeming a little less exciting. By announcing the characters late, it regenerates the hype for the BCP and keeps everyone interested.
Honestly, I think K. Rool would be the coolest character to be added, but if we do actually get Funky Kong I will be extremely happy too
And if Kirby makes it, maybe King Dedede?

I'd say pac man is likely but the only more likely non Mario character is rob just bcuz the arcade gave are confusing with Nintendo considering a past Mario kart game or just ignoring it. I'd love to see pacman on the roster though

My remaining 5 guess: Funky and Diddy seem like a shoe in. Pauline for more female representation and just the fact that it’s another big Mario character that isn’t here. Olimar (or maybe all the pikmin astronauts just as their own variants since all their models are pretty close) for when pikmin 4 comes out, and finally, Zelda (and TotK Zelda) for when TotK releases
its only gonna be characters that are in tour / previous mario kart games. why would olimar make it in over petey, who has his own track in tour which is almost definitely gonna be in the bcp
@@spookysushi4079 I mean they’ve added stuff in promotion for things before. Olimar may be a stretch, but I’d be willing to bet that Zelda makes it in, maybe even another variant of Link.

I’d hate it so much if we got more crossover characters, I already don’t like them in the base game and it’d be so disappointing here because we can have some interesting and more obscure Mario characters (The only crossovers I will except is DK because he is a part of the Mario universe)

I like many of the ideas on this list. It probably won't happen, but I would love to see King Dededee. Also if they introduce Kirby, maybe have variants based on his most popular powers or waddle-dee.

Since Wiggler is now in MK8DX, I unfortunately think Funky Kong will _NOT_ come to Wave 6.
I feel like Wave 6 is going to be Pauline (because she's a fan favorite and in everything since Super Mario Odyssey) and Diddy Kong (because Bowser has his partner, they're going to give DK his).
at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffet.
Actually "Captain Toadette" IS considered an alt in Mario Kart Tour. She has her regular emblem and is simply called "Toadette (Explorer)"
Toadsworth and Pauline should have been in every Mario Kart since Mario Kart Double Bash, super missed opportunity

What I want more than anything isn't even a new character, but a Daisy-themed amiibo costume. I can't believe Megaman, Pacman, Samus, even Sonic have Amiibo costumes but there's no Daisy one lol.

I know this is the basic opinion, but I legitimately love Funky Kong as a character, and would love to see him come thru the BCP. I also really want Monty Mole, though its probably not likely. As for alt costumes, I really want 9 toad colors like shy guy and yoshi got, and a purple yoshi alt, though I doubt either of those will happen.
if i was at nintendo i would release: Captain Falcon, Funky Kong, Pauline, a character from the movie (probably mario) and maybe Samus.
even though Captain Falcon and Samus are not from the franchise their introductions would kinda make sense since Metroid is killing it with its new 2 releases and MP4 should be coming out some day; F Zero GX is rumored to be released as a remastered version, so having Captain Falcon would rekindle the love for the franchise and more people would spend 40 bucks easily on a GX Remastered.
But just these 2 characters, more non mario characters would devalue the name Mario Kart, it needs to be a special occasion, just like it was with Link and the other non mario characters, once a decade and thats it.

My most wanted characters are probably Funky Kong, Petey Piranha, and Captain Falcon. I just really like the designs of the first two and feel like they deserve to return to Mario Kart, but for Captain Falcon I think he just needs to be in the game because there’s already two tracks and a kart from his games in 8DX, like you said. Also, the video was great!

Petey is practically a guaranteed since he'd come in the wave with Piranha plant cove. Diddy, Kamek, and Pauline would also make too much sense not to put them in. Funky is also possible but I could also see Nabbit, King Bob-Omb, or maybe someone like Honey Queen or Wiggler just to throw people off
Zelda, fox or Kirby would throw people off

I'm surprised so few people have guessed Spike. If you're getting Pauline and Birdo in Tennis Aces, it's a fair guess.
My hopes are: Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Paratroopa, Petey Piranha and Kamek. It has been stated by Nintendo that they're only adding returning characters, so no crossover characters unless they randomly get added to tour this year.
I hate to say it but in the direct, they said only returning characters(including Tour) so there’s no hope for some of the characters. Also the blue koopa’s name is Koopa General

My 2 dream characters are king Bob omb and captain falcon. Not sure why but I strongly believe that they both deserve to be in the game

Regarding the kong family and all the different Koopas, they could have differentials like they already included with inklings, Yoshi, birdo and shy guy, different colors and variations. You’d get your characters as well as other character releases

You know that little ghost dog from Luigi's mansion I want it in the game. Imagine how funny it would be to see a ghost dog driving a jeep on a road made of rainbows in space.
They obviously wont add him as he's already represented by a Mii suit but Pac-Man would be so cool as a character in the game. After all, Mario Kart Arcade GP was developed by Namco and he was actually a playable character in that game so it would be amazing to see him in a way bigger light
Samus, kirby and captain falcon would be awesome characters too
I deeply hope for Captain Falcon. It's so frustraiting that there's so much content on his franchise in MK8DELUXE but yet he ISN'T playable, the closest we have is the Mii costume but c'mon dude 😢
Since they're made by the same team, it'd be cool to have ARMS character as a guest. Mechanica makes most sense, could retool her suit into a vehicle. Either her or Dr.Coyle wanting to dominate in another fantasy sport lol.

Personally, my favorite color is blue so any blue characters would be dope, such as megaman, sonic, or the blue turtle guy that you mentioned. I also think they should totally throw in some sweet skins for already existing characters. Maybe they can throw in skins from smash bros, like the reverse color luigi and the doctor mario outfit.
Keep in mind for Captain Toad/Toadette the headlamp, backpack, pickaxe would justify a heavier weight class
Adding Ash would be very good since he was removed from the pokemon anime (even though they should have never replaced him)
I feel like if they were to do alternate costumes or looks for certain Mario Kart racers, King Boo should get his Luigi’s mansion design as an alternate look. I just think it’d look cool, and this alternate look is already in Mario Kart Tour. I also think like if they were to throw in a completely new racer as one of the last ones, I’d love to see characters from Luigi’s Mansion get out in there. Like E.Gadd, Hellen Graveley, Bogmire, Chauncey etc. or any of the portrait ghosts from the Og Luigi’s Mansion or even the ghosts from Luigi’s Mansion 3, but they would have a much lower chance over the more notable LM characters like the ones I mentioned before.

He was actually planned for mario kart 64 and not super mario kart. According to beta screenshot of mk64 he was replaced by donkey kong because DK was found more relevant at the time
The only locks are Pauline and Diddy Kong, and Petey Piranha, Kamek and Funky Kong are extremely likely. Also Kamek is male btw.
One character I would like to see (and I know it's a huge stretch) is Pac-Man as a callback to the arcade games
Of all of the characters from 3rd party companies, Pac-Man has the second (maybe third?) most extensive history with Mario behind Sonic (and probably the Rabbids)

One of my favorite things about games like Smash, is you get to play as your favorite character outside of their franchise.
Now if anyone is wondering yes Ik we're not going to get Steve or Sora in Mario Kart lol.

Kamek is confirmed because people found his logo in MK8's files and its the same as his logo in tour
If dark browser returns, I will be super happy. He is my favorite Mario character so I would love to play as him. He could also be a costume for bowser with dry bowser. But Dry bowser is not a costume for bowser right now, so it probably won't happen. If not, gold dry bowser could be a costume for dry bowser and dark bowser could be a costume for normal bowser. they could also all be costumes of each other of have no costumes at all.

I know the character choices have to be diligent, but I’d love to see octolings or idols from splatoon in Mario kart. I know there’s already inklings, but to be fair those are from splatoon 1 and we are currently on splatoon 3
What I’d love to see is one of the blue penguins as a character
I would luv to have King Hippo as a racer, or a Punchout style course. Both of these are unlikely, but at least Lil' Mac got some love in Smash Bros.
