But what if every item wasn't what they said they were???? You get a blue shell and use it and it gives you a mushroom boost instead. A green shell could be a plant, red shell could be a blue shell. Every time it's totally random!

Mario Kart 8 shells only, but the shells never break. Green shells infinitely bounce even after hitting someone, red shells hit and pass through everyone ahead of you, and blue shells constantly blow up on the person in first, until there is a new first place.
I feel like this would require some extreme rewriting of the code and not just altering which items come in the super 8.

Actually spamming the Crazy Eight coin is actually optimal as every time you collect a coin you get a very slight speed boost not even including you also get a higher top speed from having more coins.

This was a thing I learned from the beginning of the game. That’s why you need to optimize your coins and save them for the right moment.
Tldr: coins are the second most skilled item in the game, first being green shells

Read one if you are going to be that guy that says reading is too much)if you are joking then I’ll happily agree with you🤣 but if you are being serious, then it really isn’t the best skilled item. You have a blue shell in your item, you throw it and it goes flying. Nothing skill and it automatically reaches 1st place and can either give you a bit of an advantage or no advantage at all.
Skill items imo are items that you use for precise moments and are items that can be used to get you from 5th place to 1st place in a 200cc race without any troubles really.

Bananas are slightly skill but it really is just a fruit version of a potato mine(PvZ2)
bomb-omb’s are literally just bombs that can be used depending on how much people are behind you. Have to give it credit since it can be saved and used on red/green shells at the right time.
Green shells are pretty skill you can use it to hit someone directly or try to ricochet it on someone
Red shells are sort of skill, you can throw it and hope the target doesn’t have a red shell, green shell, banana or bomb-omb on them
Boomerangs are sort of skill too, you can’t really ricochet it but you can throw it and will most likely get a target with it.
Super stars, lightnings, golden mushrooms, piranha plants and bullets bills aren’t skill, you use it and hope to get past enough people to gain tempo.
Mushrooms and triple mushrooms are skill since you can get by shortcuts with them, unlike some of the other ones where you will have a chance to fall off the map or bump into an obstacle.
this is like the frenzy you get in Mario Kart tour with certain items
At least frenzy blue shells target random players instead of all going for 1st

Dude how about a challenge where the coin count doesn't stop at 10 so that you just go faster and faster ?? To make it more interesting, you can replace coins by crazy coins and make it so that you can get a ton of them

a mod where coins are ACTUALLY important.
Each coin you get, rather than slightly increasing your top speed, it increases by 50cc's.

@@nitroweeb41 not really, as mushroom boost is just a temporary boost. I mean the karts top speed is changed in race depending on how many coins you have. Can start off saying 0 coins is 50cc, or lower, and 10 coins is something stupid fast, like 500cc or faster.
@@brentos96 I think that would make the coin item OP, because it gives you 2 coins when you use it, so it'd be an instant 100cc boost each time.

Bloopers are a pretty useless item though, they don't really help the person in last. I would say to make it so people in mid places like 5th and 6th get it instead but that wouldn't change that it's useless

This video literally predicted the Wave 3 update that now allows players to customize which items can spawn. The Crazy Eight can also change based on the items selected from the customize items, particularly the red shell, green shell, star, coin, blooper, mushroom, bob-omb and blooper. So if you want just mushrooms it would be 8 mushrooms, stars only would be 8 stars, bob-ombs only would be 8 bob-ombs, and vice versa

CPU's always somehow manage to aim in between two protection shells
okay so my theory on why some of these behave the way they do;
with the Golden Mushroom, Bullet Bill, and ones similar, upon grabbing one they're supposed to have a timer preventing you from having it infinitely. my theory is that since the mod just makes each item a "crazy 8", their timers are still there, so you use one (which counts as using the power up itself), *every* timer starts their countdown, and when it's up, they all expire as normal.
for the Boomerang, each rang has four states; unused, 2 throws left, 1 throw left, and no throws. this state gets saved when thrown and technically leaves your inventory, only to come back depending on their state (so at no throws, it just continues). however, when it leaves your inventory, it needs at least one slot available to come back to, otherwise you forfeit it. since you have multiple rangs in the Eight form, the game thinks you have all your slots filled and doesn't let it come back.
for the Feather, i assume it probably crashed the game because the CPU attempted to spam it. since you're not supposed to have more than one feather *ever* (keep in mind i believe the Feather is a Battle mode only item), the game doesn't know what to do about you having used it while in the air from the first one, and crashes.
all the other items work as expected, for the most part, because they can be held behind or around the player normally (i.e. either via a standard Eight or thru holding the button)

The crazy 8 blue shell is the best out of all 8s
I'm guessing the golden mushroom did not give max uses because it has durability. Maybe it deletes the item when out of durability, and the mod dev forgot to change it to only take out 1 mushroom instead of the crazy 8. Bullet bills might have a similar durability, just invisible even in normal gameplay.

Mod idea : power up combination. If you have two items, you'll throw them both at the same time and they'll have a special effect.
Examples :
Red shell + star : the red shell cannot be destroyed by anything like bananas or shells
Mushroom + green shell : when you use your mushroom and rush into someone, he'll get hit as if he were hit by a shell
Coin + bob omb : each kart touched by the explosions give all their coins to you
Etc.
If you like this idea, I'll try to make all combinations

@@ElectricGlowSkull see for some reason only items that are in the default crazy 8 will be in it, so if there is no item selected that is already in it, it defaults to an all mushroom crazy eight instead.
