The secret is that having high ping also delays your commands getting to the server and other players. Since shot registry is client side, however, you can see and shoot your opponent without their client even having received from the server your movement command yet. This provides an advantage on aggression if you know how to leverage it. Basically, if you have 200 ping to the server, you see other players a good ping 120ms before their client even receives the command that you're moving. When you initiate movement close to the corner, preaiming, fire and immediately return to cover, that delay plus client-side interpolation makes a full peek look like a shoulder peek on the opponent's client. Beating it is simple in theory, though, because they have that same disadvantage against someone else peeking. So the key against them is to be in control of when encounters occur, even on defense. Most of all of these kills have nothing to do with this advantage -- most are just him having good aim, recoil control, and being able to control engagements. Basically, the skills you get from a lot of DM. Wide peeking like a body width or two out from the corner isn't helping him because of ping though. Wide peeking like that takes away any advantage that he has from ping. It's just not what pros expect or practice for at that level of play. These are two separate issues. The issue with Xantares in normal play where he doesn't have the peeker's advantage, he's just leaning on level 1 movement with level 10 aim to throw them off and tilt them. It's working for now, but he's going to have to grow as a player to remain competitive, because people will adjust to his weird playstyle, and he'll start losing more and more gunfights if he doesn't.

MashaAllah Xantares abi has been for a very long time the king of FPL, even s1mple and Niko say that about him. He taught us so much csgo which we didn't know. The art of not giving a f*** and peeking angles so wide it will surprises any opponent Hobbit put it in the very best way, when you see his playstyle you can notice how he treats the game like its a regular deathmatch.. and he dominates unlike any other player, so unorthodox yet so effective and awesome
It's called peeker's advantage and is well documented by VALORANT dev team for example. Basically every competitive FPS game suffers from it more or less.
This aged like milk Online Era was the BIG Clan Era Xantares chilling in Online But when CSGO slowly returned to normal BIG just fell down to obscurity
For people who are watching this - do not believe a single thing that has been said about "high ping" in this video, if you're thinking about CS:GO. About most other games - yes, high ping will be your doom, not CS:GO. In this game netcode works slightly differently than in most games, and there is a reason why high pingers out-peak you. When you get agressively peaked by a high pinger, on your screen it looks like he just started moving out of a corner and headshotted you whilst moving in full speed, when in reality he moved out, already stopped to a place he wanted, and made 1-2 shots. In short, in CS:GO the server FORCES a low ping player wait for the updated information from the high ping player. If the high ping player is roughly above 100-120 ping, he has a STRONG peaker's advantage, that not many people realise. This is lag compensation at work, which works slightly differently than in other games - in CSGO, Valve is trying to "level" the playing field for high and low pingers, but it actually backfires, as neither get gameplay sattisfaction. I've played both Quake2, Quake3, CoD and many other titles with antilag, or so called lag compensation, and the only by-product in those games is that you get "shot around corners", and from many games I've tried - Quake3 is the most forgiving and doesn't feel bad. In CSGO, it's just hilarious how some people with high ping jolt out of a corner and instantly headshot you, even though your crosshair placement is perfect and all you have to do is click on their head. You dont even have time to click. And I checked it on community servers, where they modded so you have kill-cams, it's hilarious to see yourself standing there like an idiot without reaction from enemy's perspective, when in reality you could not phisicly react because of how the netcode works. It is beyond my understanding how CSGO's community is not in an absolute revolt about the netcode, because it is more than broken. I have a sneaky suspicion people falsely blame tickrate for it, and have no understanding about lag compensation and interpolation, what it does and how is it twisted to work in this game. Or people are just so numb that they don't feel it. I can only imagine how people suffer with worse gear - imagine someone with higher latency mouse, 60-120hz, lower FPS, like 100, trying to play CS:GO. They probably think they're bad at the game. It takes nothing from Xantares, obviously an amazing player. However, if you take a look at his online frags displayed in this video, you'll notice his opponents barely react to him peaking, because no human can react to CS:GO's netcode, whilst vs. high pingers. 10:28 is an amazing example - you can see that he peaked, made a shot and was already moving backwards behind the wall, and you couldn't react to it. If it was any other game - a high pinger like him would not be able to do it EVER. As a low pinger you'd see him first, and shoot him first, even with antilag on. If you ask me - CSGO has the most infuriating and non-logical antilag systems of any game out there, and it forces to change your gameplay and how you hold angles so much, it's hilarious. And if you go to a LAN - all your skill and how you hold angles against high pingers does not matter anymore, you're ON LAN, and you have to play it totally differently. Stupidity beyond belief. The fact that this video is preaching nonsense about high ping on CS:GO in particular, is a mark of incompetence on technical basis, and makes you wonder whether they play the game themselves. And if they do, are they that numb and do not feel it ? Technical forums are full of information, and even documented film footage of high pingers advantage for peeking. Do your research for god's sake.

Xantaras is a god even on lan, one of my favorite players to watch. I know it’s annoying to see players act wild with a connection but his confidence and aggression is near perfect
CS:GO really needs a hall of fame
I love seeing xantares getting some recognition. I long to see him at the top of the world's csgo stage.
MashaAllah Xantares abi has been for a very long time the king of FPL, even s1mple and Niko say that about him.
He taught us so much csgo which we didn't know. The art of not giving a f*** and peeking angles so wide it will surprises any opponent
Hobbit put it in the very best way, when you see his playstyle you can notice how he treats the game like its a regular deathmatch.. and he dominates unlike any other player, so unorthodox yet so effective and awesome
My internet connection is so bad, that a person in Turkey still has a better ping than me in the middle of Europe...
A Person from southern spain has better ping on polish servers than me (i am from poland)
not only his peek was incredible also he is raw aim and his spray control ... always flawless
well, at the dreamhack Leipzig 2020 they also won even tho it was a lan event. This dude is insane if lan or online
inconsistent is the issue
10:31 how he says "Mr. Xantares" is fireeee
talking about bad ping and xantarex perfecting that -> shows lan scene
6:25 As an argentinian that hits close to home, literally, we have them as neighbours and they dont seem to know there are more weapons than the p90
Damn. Just realized old a4 sounds like a beast
old ak aswell
this peak is a dream to achieve, but a nightmare to have
It's called peeker's advantage and is well documented by VALORANT dev team for example. Basically every competitive FPS game suffers from it more or less.
This aged like milk
Online Era was the BIG Clan Era
Xantares chilling in Online
But when CSGO slowly returned to normal
BIG just fell down to obscurity
The right pronunciation of his name is: ismaeeljan dortkardesh : it means dear ismail four brother!
In CSGO, it's just hilarious how some people with high ping jolt out of a corner and instantly headshot you, even though
your crosshair placement is perfect and all you have to do is click on their head.
Do your research for god's sake.
give those silvers with 100+ ping a good internet and they will become global in 2 days
Finally a positive real youtuber that seems be healthy And see xantares as a real nr top 5 player in csgo well i always saw this guy a nr top 3 player in csgo ... thnx for this bro
Maybe you shouldn't use the term "clapping kids" 0:18
man I miss the old gun sounds of csgo. they were so crispy🤌🏼
"bad ping" all clipes showing 40 ping at maximum hahahahhaha in brazil, less then 100 is very very good
In africa having 100 ping is being rich lol
Lol no, I only see 5-40 ping here
I constantly asked myself where the high ping is in that video. - Some years ago, here in Germany i had a ping of 80ms with spikes up to 300ms every 5-30 seconds. That's bad
when he started he had bad ping which made him develop his playstyle, now he plays with good ping

"We see big entering the stage after so much success online, hoping to.... wait are they all carrying a single, hundred meter long Ethernet cable wrapped around their waist?"
How is 40 ping bad? Im used to like 80 to 100
bro 5:45 actually looked like aimbot this dude is nuts
The name of xantares cannot be pronounced worse than this.
How is it pronounced?
After the first few clips in the start of the video, I said to myself "This guy plays comp like it's deathmatch". Then later you mention he actually does play a lot of deatchmatch. I would never have been able to see something like that 6 years ago when I started playing CS GO, the game sense that you build in this game is insane.
meh, 50 ping isnt high tho
My ping is usually like 17. Anything higher than 24 makes me lag hard.
@@elliottdavies3528 lol, keep tellin' that yourself.
@@goldcraft1337 What does that even mean?
@@elliottdavies3528 You just imagine being worse with a few ms more. That's all in your mind.
@@goldcraft1337 Yes. That is the case with me. When I'm playing CS:GO, if the ping increases just by 2 or 3, I get thrown around and I will most likely die to the lag.
you know you're a good player when the god of cs himself recognizes you and speaks of what you do super highly
A legend once said "Adapt to the situation and make it your advantage."
that clip of canadian losing his mind is amazing
I love how you try to sound as confident as possible reading the name and you still fuck it up...
это потрясающе, мне всегда нравится твой стиль, братан)))
Much deserved. A video for XANTARES at last.
I'm not subbing until Dimitri gets his own sub channel.
Video about Xantares with a quote from Batman: The Dark Knight Rises?
I can't even ask for more
Wouldn't be a Dimitri video without a fl0m clip
After hearing the name erdogan peek im just dead
Considering this man is now top 8 in the first cs2 major and still destroying. I’d say it translated nicely
He’s getting rid of my excuse of “bad ping”
3:13 love this play from XANTARES
DIMITRI wooooohoooo, made my sunday nice again
Its monday for me. He made my whole week too
Not the peek we wanted but the peek we deserved...
this dude not only peeked the pros, he WIDE swing-ed the ping
Feels good to see someone from my country at the top ^^
3:03
look how proud he was after making that terrible pun :D
I pop my enemies cherries. They call me the rapist.
Xantares got absolute perfect aim, perfect flick regardless.
Xan used to kill me on palace so much back in the day, that i refused to push A side in a 4v1, man is a savant...
having 200 ping unlocks the ability “teleport peek” where you peek and kill them but on their screen you just appear out in the open.
I'm feeling thank you
- Xantares
There’s one thing you need to know…
XANTARESPEEK!
