@@harolddavis4138the website for Home Depot just says stainless steel like there other fixed blade while there more expensive one around 70 bucks is AUS-8
I’ve used this knife for 2 years now. No problems at all. I do pro lawn and landscape work. This knife does it all, from cutting trimmer line and plastic pots to branches and weed roots. Even bagged a few moles and a snake. The sheath is great it retains the blade and doesn’t jam-up. Made a little Velcro retainer strap to wear it as a boot knife. I would give it an 8.5.
Guess I'll have to buy one now. I have a Milwaukee fastback folding utility knife with the locking screwdriver. I modified the retention for the phillips head/flathead reversible bit. I changed it from a wire thing that I didn't really like to magnet epoxied in the bottom. It works great and I have beaten it up thoroughly. I carry it just about every day. Milwaukee makes surprisingly good knives. Who knew?
Been using this blade for 20 yrs doing HVAC. Can't button this blade.. honestly any knife is better than no knife. I'm so use to this knife. I'll give a thumbs up even if no one else will.
I've had one of these (different brand) for years. Great truck knife. Cheap, sharp, cuts seat belts like butter if needed. My son is in the HVAC business and got it from him. Free.95 is even better!
I have this knife and use it for HVAC. It'll cut anything you put in its way. The serrations are amazing on cardboard and thermopan. It'll cut OSB like a saw. The brick layers have even borrowed it to cut watermelon and came back raving about it. It's bad ass for sure
Any store that sells this knife should send you a commission check for the increased sales this video will produce. I was surprised at how well it performed on wood. I imagine it would also shine on fiberglass/duct work. Thanks Brian. It is a real bargain.
I purchased one of these knives to use to cut the twine and netting off of a large round Haybale. The first time that I used it it snagged on the tractor fender and broke the sheath. I was quite disappointed in the sheath but the knife was good.
Purchased a USA duct knife, Amazon , $14.00 wooden riveted handle thru blade. Trimmed wood back 3/4 inch in order to allow metal to extend through handle and improve balance. Not as comfortable as Milwaukee but much more durable and better thrower.
I've had one of these in my car as part of my survival kit for about 8 years now. Never used it for a darn thing but all of my thoughts about it aligned with yours and many others in this comment section
I had been looking at this knife for a while too, so I got one about year and a half ago. Wasn't thrilled with the sheath, but it is not unusual to have a great knife come with a so-so sheath. Love the sharpness and balance and light weight. I didn't test with a ferro rod because I'm more interested in it's use as a low cost fighting knife. Thank you for the fire test! Mine was under 20 bucks at the time. Inflation! Milwaukee Tools has a number of knives that are of interest outside their intended use.
@@rossogden9920 Yes. Improvised weaponry has been an area of research for years. I'm especially interested in how a person can become armed quickly for either not a lot of money or when traditional weapon are not available. I wouldn't underestimate this knife, it has some good qualities of a fighter: very light and very sharp. It's certainly better than a butter knife which, in the right hands is more effective than a $500 Emerson in clueless hands.
I have been throwing these blades for years now. I bought 3 total. The first one broke inside the handle after an over rotation and hit flat against the target. There was no way to tell if it already had a fracture or a weird inclusion in the steel. Overall they have been great for throwing full spin and Russian style half spin.
So now I am into the hobby and know knife steels and buy hire end stuff. With that said, Fastback is my toughest button-lock and this fixed blade is the shit. I used it for six months hacking through the backend of GFRG.. nasty stuff. It refused to quit.. Still going strong actually.
I have pretty much the same knife under a different brand. While I did buy it for ductwork it didn't take long to realize I had a pretty mean looking dagger that I could legally carry on the work site anyway.
I bought one of these at our Home Depot last year for the same reason. What I like about it is that it's tough, sharp, and if I lose it or it gets stolen, it's easy to replace. Awesome knife.

That’s a budget combat dagger if I ever saw one. I’ve never seen a company market a dagger as a workman’s knife. In a lot of states it’s illegal to carry daggers.
@@ronaldinnewmexico1912 No, those are features of a dagger. Wow! That is getting your money’s worth. You may have sold a lot of these with this review! I like having serrations on one side, and a plain edge on the other. Many people dislike double edged knives but, like a double bit ax, two edges are better than one.
Have a similar design duck knife I bought years ago. Malco brand. It has been my sod cutting knife for years. Cut circles around sprinkler heads pull the sod out in one big clump when I got to replace them. That Milwaukee definitely looks like a better version.
If Milwaukee colored the handle coyote and OD green or something, darkened the blade and named it tactical they could charge double lol. I did a review of a master force fixed blade a while back which is Menards house brand, it was alright but not nearly as good as that one 👍
These knives are great I literally use it every single day at work. $15 at my supply house. Holds an edge well and is incredibly tough. Needed to be sharpened before i used it because the blade was just rough sharpened from the factory. It was def still sharp out of the package and ready to go im just picky lol
