Aerodynamics is not a big concern in a short track like this, especially cornering at this pace which is not really quick enough for the aeros to kick in. The biggest disadvantage for the juke is really the high centre of gravity. (the aero does have a minute effect on the long straight though)

Agree. Not to mention the interior is soooo much better. What's up with the Corvette seats, it folds forward with you instead of being locked in placed. Seems like everything inside is cheaply made. The 2013 Viper is better inside / out than the 2013 Vette. I'm sure the Vette will get better over time with the help of all the auto editors pin pointing the issues. For now it is what it is.
They're building 20-25 cars at $600,000 each, I'd say that's a bit more exclusive than a normal GTR. They probably figured out they had enough buyers to either turn a profit or not lose money.
I love the Juke R, quite an achievement by Nissan and this a wonderful comparo with the Porsche GT2.

Hmmm The Porsche GT2 RS weighs 3,032 lbs and sports 600hp. VS the Juke which weighs 4,000 lba and 445 lbs. I wonder what wouold happen if the Juke were to shed 1,000 lbs? Would the Porsche still beat it. I thinking it wouold probably be slaughtered by the Juke! A quick way to test the theory would be to add 1,000 lbs to the Porsche to off set the Juke's serious weight and HP disadvantage. The only area where the Juke has some edge would be the 4WD

For $590,000 you could buy a GT-R Alpha 12 and a used Carrera GT. Who in their right mind would prefer a souped up Juke. Insane!!

The graphic makes no sense - it gets to the 1/4 mile on the left whilst on the right its;s showing 40mph - both of these cars would be way, way over 100mph by the time they got to 1/4 mile as shown later on. Not much point in putting up a graphic if it's misleading.

You need to compare this nissan with an audi s5 or camaro ss or any sport car with its level but not with this aggressive porche..because there is a big difference in the hp.. anyways i liked the juke r it's strong stable and fast.

It is indeed a collectible, no more than 23 are going to be built.
You can almost get two of the GT2 RS for that money as well.

Yes a Corvette doesn't fit in but a squashed beetle with bright red wheels and a bunch of decals does, culture and heritage? Chevy has been around 20 years longer than Porsche.
And I love top gear, i think it's a hilarious show with some nice cars, but it's an entertainment show, not an auto reviewer, most of their reviews are dripping with bias to appeal to their fanbase.
And not only that, but you should take some time to form your own opinions, not just jump on someone else's.
Ye it's fast but it's to big and heavy, around 800-900lbs more than a RR and then it's the price, base Caddie isn't bad but even if you go AWD and Platinum it's probably 20.000$ short on the RR. Id say there are no SUVs that can top the RR overall, the Mercedes Benz GL come close.

only how has driven a gt2 know that these cars are much more than numbers and track efficacy. The driving experience, the feedback, the whole car and the way it communicates with the driver, stands out from almost anything in the world... the 997 GT2 and Gt2 RS are probably some of the best cars ever made..Unique cars..unique experiences, very mechanical, very raw, very good

Why would you even do this video when there is a clear disadvantage to the Juke R compared to the 911 GT2 RS? It's a no brainer that a car that handles as well as a Porsche 911 GT2 RS will out perform something with more than 100 less horsepower and 1000lbs more weight around a track. It's simple physics, which also applies to the drag race. It's just no contest because of power to weight ratio.
Not always the case. If the chassis and suspension tune does not suit the engine or the dynamics of the vehicle in general are no good then you can shove all the HP in the world under the bonnet and you wont achieve a damn thing.
That's why I stated that a car that handles as well as a 911 GT2 RS would do so well because 911's are usually renowned for their excellent handling, which means Porsche got the chassis and suspension right, aside from other aspects. I completely agree that a car with an unsuited suspension and chassis would not handle well at all, in which HP will only make it worse.

Lol +JCs Page, that's fine. But yes you do have a point with your first comment. I totally agree that a car needs a good balance between chassis & suspension, not to forget brakes, tires and downforce so it can perform well with a high HP.
Thats not true in the leas, Power to weight ratio certainly does not mean a car will be faster or handle better,

But a lot of other people will have the cars you listed, if you see another Juke on the road it'll be a miracle. That's the price of admission, exclusivity.

it's not even a production car dude, the closest thing is the nismo juke which uses a turbocharged I4 with 215hp for about $25k

I agree, they had some great camera work on this video! The Juke is one of the most hideous cars ever created though, you couldn't pay me enough to make me own and use that car. The Porsche on the other hand, is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

Maybe you should go look at how the Juke-R is made, how many are made, and you'll see why it costs so much. It is by no means a production car. :|

997 GT2 RS will be the greatest Porsche of all time if you ask me...918 Spyder is legendary and scary fast and Carrera GT has massive torque with the V10 but the GT2RS with the twin turbo flat six and 6 speed is the ultimate DD/Track Car and it won't scare you to bits like the GT
It wont scare you, it will just kill you ! 911 GT2's are known as 'widow makers' for a reason. You have to be able to drive to drive them fast.

The $590K is not out of line for essentially a prototype/low production run with very expensive parts.
Excellent comparison!! My only gripe is the fact that all of your tests were done on damp surfaces...Had they been completed on perfectly dry, prepped surfaces the RWD GT2 RS would have absolutely murdered the Juke R, instead of just beating it by a large margin. Still a great comparison though!

This is simply a little beast with the heart of Godzilla! The normal hp for the GT-R is 545 to take a smaller version of that engine and increase the power up to 595 is rediculous!! The Nismo package takes the GT-R to 600... All you haters only love the brand of Porsche...what models can take this kind of modifications?? take a 918 engine & put it in the 911, should just keep it as the 918!! Haters, get behind the wheel & then tell me how much of a joke it truly is.
Are you serious? Like seriously as an owner of a GT2 RS I can tell you the only reason I bought that car was due to it being a real drivers car a legal race car. You talk about GT-R its a great car I would never trash a vehicle but seriously if you never drove either or you will never understand the difference between those two cars. GT2 RS is a racers car many owners of those cars are professional racers. Its not the badge its the feel of the car I can tell you that as much as GT-R is a great vehicle but it does not interact or require the skill that you do in a GT2 RS. The feeling or driving a GT2 RS is second to none. Clutch is nice and firm and the pedal travel is short also youre shifts are percise. Unfortunately i did not feel the rush or that much fun of driving a GT-R. You cannot bash a Porsche and say it is bullshit if you never drove one. But that being said paying for Nissan 590 000 is absurd. You either got stupid amount of money to blow or you really got bad taste. And here is a list of cars I owned so far 458 Italia, 911 Turbo S, R8 V10, GT-R, lamborghini aventador LP700-4, GT2 RS and a 97 Honda civic and honestly most cars I sold and got rid of them but only two will never be sold. 97 honda civic and a GT2 RS. You got to have something to remind you where you been and where youre at now.

Did anybody really expect the Juke to win? Even with AWD holding it in place it still has like 130 less HP, weighs 1000 pounds more, and has a way higher center of gravity. Would have been stoked to see it win though!

Because the GTR wasn't ugly enough Nissan felt the need to build the Juke-R. A car designed to make the GTR look better. Regardless of what anyone could feel about it's performance it is an awful lot of money to spend on a car about attractive as the defunct Pontiac Aztec. Because for that kind of money any one could build an incredible performing attractive supercar. The standard Juke wasn't worth a second glance to begin with. With the Juke-R you pass fast enough that no one will realize exactly ho grotesque your car actually is.
I love it! Was thinking the same thing how can you compare it to a Porsche but hey it held its own pretty good! I love love love My Juke. So it was awesome to see it go so fast!
