Trace Adkins is a very kind and generous person who just this past weekend gave a free concert in our Tornado stricken town of Mayfield Ky which was devastated and destroyed on December 10, 2021. an EF4 tornado left 24 people dead and at least 200 people injured in Graves County Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service. Trace stopped here to help raise money and bring awareness as our people work and struggle to rebuild, on his " Somewhere in America Tour". Yes were gonna miss this but we will rise up better than ever.

My baby will be 16 this summer. She is lovely, fun, smart, inspiring at this age. I didn’t expect to LIKE her so much as a teenager. I look forward to cheering her on on each step of her journey. My childhood was no good, either. But parenthood has be an ongoing study in wonder and love. Enjoy this time with your boys. They are such fun ages! But there are so many fun times to come, too. You don’t want to miss out on anything because you were fearful of the changes time bring. Because each year is the good stuff. Enjoy it all

Single dad of 2. One biologoical. The other one chose to call me dad. Yes they are so much fun when they are little and innocent. But the hard times do come. the rebellion and the words that cut deep... Trust me.. if you stick it out.. Its beautiful. Both are grown and doing amazing. I couldnt be more proud. What a roller coaster ride though.. I wouldnt change a thing.

The first time I heard this I cried. I’ve heard it probably 200 times and I still cry because the title of the song is so true, you’re gonna miss this. I miss almost EVERYTHING about growing up and ironically I used to say the same thing to my daughter. She’s now 24. My beautiful precious IVF baby is all grown up but she’ll always be my baby and her dad and I still call her the baby. Don’t apologise for showing emotion. It makes you human ❤️

This is one of my favorite songs ever. I'm a father of 3, my oldest is 11 and my youngest is nearly 3. My oldest is already talking about how she can't wait to be a grown up and I tell her exactly that: "Slow down, you're gonna miss this and when you realize that it'll be far too late". She looks at me like I have 3 heads, as all kids do hahah :D

Never apologize for having a heart or showing what you are feeling, be it love, compassion, empathy or sadness. Your loving heart is what make us want to share these songs with you. I love to hear your love for your family in your voice and my heart breaks for you and your sad childhood. The one thing I know however, is that you will be the wonderful father for your children, that you wish your father had been. I feel guilty for having a calm, loving childhood when I hear how other kids have grown up. We had many Foster children come thru our home over the years, with many sad stories about their lives leading up to where they were taken from their parents and brought to us It breaks my heart. Sending prayers for you & your family. Life is what you make it & everything we do is a choice. Keep choosing the good stuff.

I’m from Baton Rouge, Louisiana which is in the southern part of the state. The love you show for you children is so heartfelt. I’ll touch on my memories and how I miss so much from growing up there. I’m 70 now and my Mom was divorced from my Dad when I was 3 and I had two older brothers. My Mom was a wonderful Mom and through her, I learned so much. The big things didn’t have expensive price tags because she made lasting memories for us through her love of the outdoors. She gave me my love for animals, forever, treasured memories of going fishing, my love for nature, having family reunions with my aunts, uncles and many cousins, and much more. I reflect back on so many memories from that time and smile! My point is make memories with your boys and your wife that don’t have dollar signs attached but rather they’ll remember the times just spent with them doing ordinary stuff. Go exploring, teach them about nature, play ball with them. These memories will be what they reflect on as they get older and they’ll smile. Much love and great reaction!

My daughter will be 21 soon, so I've had to brave through most of the stuff you fear. It's just a fact of life that we just have to buckle up and deal with it, so prepare for the tears and long nights, but let yourself enjoy each moment, even the ones that take the piss out of you. It's the kid/dad country songs that kill me every time. 'Tough Little Boys', 'Stealing Cinderella', and ones like 'Just Fishin'' will always be able to make me weak in the knees for recalling how I felt at points in my life.

There is not a parent who would not react the way you have to this song, whether the kids are3 1/2 and 10 months or whether there 36 and 23. There is not a dad who wants better for their children then they had as a child. A loving kind "dad" always wants their child to have a lifetime of memories and as I am sure you have already experienced it requires sacrifice and whole lot of love. Some of my best memories involve just doing things as a family. Simple things like dad teaching us to ice skate on a frozen pond, or spending an entire day at a local swimming hole cooking on a grill, packing the "station wagon" but mostly just laughing being a kid with my brothers and sisters aunts uncles cousins friends and neighbors. Those days were precious because they were filled with so much love and I learned more about what really matters in life. Mom and Dad always made sure we knew what was important.

  • @falloutcycle1550
    @falloutcycle1550 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Mine are 19 and 21. We definitely miss the days when they were little, it goes by in a blur and suddenly they're adults. My oldest graduates from college on December 1st amd both my boys have decided to join the military (my husband and i are both Vets and though they know how hard things can and often are in the military, they've chosen to join anyways). It's still terrifying watching them change and move on as they grow but its also great to see the wonderful, caring, protective, and generous young men they've turned into. This momma is very proud of her boys and also worries constantly for them. I will always miss the days when they were growing up to be the men they are but will also enjoy the men they are and will continue to become (if that makes sense). As a parent, its both terrifying and amazing at the same time.

man, I grew up with country, and it was always a shame hearing so many hate on it. Glad so many are opening up to it now.
This song gets me for multiple reasons. I have 2 kids of my own, a biological son who turned 1 in January and a step daughter who I see as a daughter who turned 3 in January. So the whole kids thing definitely hits hard.
But I think the thing that got me most was when he drove up and saw his dad at the end.
My father unfortunately passed away pretty horrifically in our apartment at around 11 PM on December 31st, so seeing that, kinda broke me.

As for childhood stories, I don't have any the song reminds me of, I never wanted to grow up as a kid. But what you said about missing things in your past is very interesting! I think it's very valid for some people, but I feel like I also don't miss my past, much like you. I've never longed to go back to it. But I do think very fondly on my past! I had a great childhood with a loving family and nice friends, so maybe I'm just strange for not wanting to go back

AS a grandmother of 4, I do connect with this song. Seems that our boys grew up way too fast, time went too fast, and it seems that time goes faster as you get older. Yep, I missed my past,
I have two foster kids and one of my own, age 7, 3, and 5 months, seeing them growing up, reminding me when I was with my siblings,
I had pretty good childhood, growing up poor, still poor even today, a few regrets, but that's okay, I can say; I can die happy anytime,

I understand you completely, I have 2 babies of my own, one's 20 one's 28. The year our daughter left for college. I'd stand in her room and tear up, it felt like something was missing. My favorite fun was when they were 3ish, like you said, they say the funniest things. Lol

Lmao there's a song that says exactly that! The song remembers when! I love how true it is. After we've forgotten all about it, the song remembers when it existed

I only have one child, and the idea of her growing up used to terrify me too, but she’s an adult now, and my best friend!

I really want to recommend "Alyssa Lies" by Jason Michael Carroll, its a song that will definitely make you cry but the story it tells is such an important one.

I LOVE your reaction to this great song and performance. Trace truly is one of the best at conveying heartfelt stories and emotions in his music. FYI, the man Trace meets at the end is his real father. Kind of adds a nice "full-circle" element to the family element of this video. Again, kudos on your reaction. I loved the emotion.

I’m in a similar boat as you. I’ve got a 7 and 4 year old and it just keeps going by faster and faster. I guess that’s life and all we can do is make a conscious effort to not take it for granted.

Beautiful reaction. Do not let the future break your heart, Live today, make those memories for your children to look back on and miss when they get older. Your children missing their memories with you and their childhood, means you did it right. My girls are grown now, but I have those precious memories of their childhood and we still talk and laugh and cry about those memories today. And no matter how old they get, they are still my babies in my heart. Making memories for your child to hold and cherish is a parents gift to their children.. Enjoy every second and never let an opportunity to say I love you pass you by. You should also check out Trace Adkins 'Then they Do, it's amazing. Thank you for this reaction!

Yep, this one gets me. I just lost my oldest daughter ($$) to breast cancer. Cherish every moment, protect them , love them and pray God that you go first. No parent should lose a child. I lost a 4 year oldin 1991 and then a 44 yrar old beautiful daughter in december 2021. God bless you all and may peace be with you and yours.

dude, in the blink of an eye, my youngest is about to be 13 and all of my kids are at the age or "don't touch me, don't come near me" Well my oldest will give me half hugs. A few years ago, I couldn't put my arms behind my back and my youngest would want me to give her piggy back rides from the bus stop, and I just physically couldn't. I really wish i could have.

So, little hesitant to recommend this song after your comment about having a rough childhood, but if you have a decent relationship with your Mom, I recommend the song "Bye Mom" by Chris Janson. However, one song I recommend no matter what is "Almost Home" by Craig Morgan, it's similar to this in that it's a very nostalgic song

Trace is AMAZING! This video, he shot in his hometown of Sarepta, Louisiana. The older guy at the end is actually his Dad. Trace also has 2 daughters and he said this song while for everyone but definitely wanted his daughters to understand, it's important to appreciate where you are in life. It always hits me because I have 2 boys of my own that are grown. AND Springhill/Sarepta are my hometowns too. Louisiana proud!
