    i still can not comprehend why all the brands which are so proud of their remarkable finishing do not incorporate a visible/ glass back so the owner can enjoy watching this masterpiece from both ends and not just the sheer beauty of the case and finish. Above certain price it should be a must. The excuse of deep dive resistance are no excuse in the 21st century’s so does the fear from fakes, as they forger can open the case anyway.

      I disagree. I like my movments closed. Unless it's something very beautiful like a lange, journe, Moser, or some chronographs from patek ( even patek has ugly small movments that I would rather not see) .. you know how you watch porn and then the guy just open her asshole and you see inside of her organs ? Same goes here.

    Thanks for the vid! I think the subject of faux patina is worth discussing. I personally don't care if others complain about it - I have yet to see a faux patina that I didn't think looked awesome. I kind of feel that someone, somewhere, complained about it and suddenly it was a bad thing. It's not "faux", it's simply a great color option.

      Laer Pearce I wasn’t too sure about the look of it when I saw the videos and images of it but then I tried it on at a dealer. Initially I didn’t get an emotional connection with it but after around 10 minutes wearing it I didn’t want to take it off. It’s an absolutely beautiful watch and I knew that I would regret it had I not purchased it there and then (given it’s limited to 800 pieces I wouldn’t get the chance again) so I did. It is an amazing piece of art and technology.

  • @DavidDatura
    @DavidDatura 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yet another entrant into the blue dial trend. I reckon JLC used faux patina lume because cream/yellow just goes well with blue. Also 800 really isn’t all that limited, especially at the exalted price this sells for.
    As for what I think of the watch itself? It’s nice but not very distinctive looking. From across a room I wouldn’t know this was a JLC. That’s not the case when it comes to a Rolex or AP.

    I love the Polaris and see it as a great alternative to the Submariner, but I just have not been able to bring myself to buy one. I think they make them too big, why not 40mm? It's a dive/sport watch without screw down crowns... that sucks. Put screw down crowns on their no-date blue dial version and I'd be in. This new dial is an absolute stunner, but again the crowns kill it for me. I am just too OCD and I need my timing bezel to be aligned. With the Polaris that bezel would constantly be out of alignment because any slight touch to the crown is going to move it. That would drive me crazy. I see a Polaris in my future, but I am waiting on JLC to get their act together.

    Seeing what Bremont does with their internal ratcheting bezel, I wonder why more brands don’t incorporate that type of technology.

    It’s a pretty piece but when I think of JLC I’m thinking MUT Moon or Reverso. Interesting size. I passed on both the silver and black variants of the MM in the past as 39mm just seemed 1mm too small on me yes, 1mm makes a massive difference in diameter and dial real estate. Bit like the Tudor 58. Cool but dainty. May give this size a try on as I’m a 40-45mm guy. As you say, incredibly made but prices are soft. Perhaps secondary is the way to go.

    Glad you're back in london and give JLC some screen time!

    From a distance 1:45 it reminds me of a dilated pupil with a bright blue iris .

    What is next one of a "limited" amount? Nope I want a number, any number.

    Watchmaker puts tang buckle: “for this price level, I expected a deployant”. Puts a deployant: “this would look awesome on a tang.” 😂

    It is not faux patina. It’s just a creamy white color, it doesn't give off a faux patina vibe. If you want faux patina, look at the much darker shade used by the Speedmaster 1957 trilogy

    I really like that dial. I dont think we have any JLC dealers in northern ireland which is a pitty coz i'd love to try this on
