      I likem both , i would have bought a corolla , but for a largeish old ex truck driver , it was a bit squeezy for width room in the cabin ( the rest of the little corolla i loved ) , i also had my eyes on a camry hybrid , about 4.5 litres per hundred k`s around the burbs , it seems almost no penalty fuel wise for the bigger hybrid car , and as a new hybrid , it is going to take a long time for parts to wear out or need $$$$ in maintenance as long as its looked after , and the latest camrys on this side of the pond (Australia )look very swish too compared to early models ..

    I’ve had both and I recommend the Camry. Yes, the don’t have the same gas mileage as a corolla but they’re still safer, roomier, more fun to drive, and reliable. The corolla feels like a chicken nugget with a steering wheel.

    • @richscott2483
      @richscott2483 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agree! I'd rather have a whole chicken than a nugget. For people who want the basic, super affordable, no thrills, boring, great MPG, everyday city driver, get the Corolla. Want a family car that has respectable features even though it is not either a top luxury or sports car get the Camry. The Camry is better suited for long road trips as it is quicker to accelerate, provides better handling and comfort, may provide a few extra safety features, and a larger vehicle tends to have better protection if involved in an accident. Note: All vehicles feel cheap today as they are built with more plastic, glass, and aluminum, plus adding more expensive computer gadgets, as the automotive industry believes more Air Bags are the best safety device. Oh! Air Bags can be easily punctured. Oops! sorry for your death as the airbag could not stop that sharp object from penetrating your body. In the last few decades, vehicles are cheaply built with inferior parts, this is why vehicles made in the 1960s through the early 1980s are better than those made today because they were solid and used steel. What will last longer: a metal Tonka toy truck or a plastic one? It's like driving a tank over a child's Big Wheel. It gets Crushed!!!

      he's off by around 30 years. jaguar was winning le mans, introducing disc brakes, and setting production speed records in the the fifties. their cars were as good as anything european in the sixties. after that is when things didn't so much as go downhill as stand still while most other companies were making forward progress, especially in terms of reliability. when ford bought jaguar in the 90s they showed them literally hundreds of ways to improve their quality control, and this was the time when ford was one of the least reliable makes on earth.

    I sold my 98 Corolla LE w/ a 1.8L for a 99 Camry XLE w/a 2.2L. The weird thing was how different the cars were from one another- like they were from 2 different companies making them. Both are very reliable, but the Camry's steering wheel NEVER shakes, not eben a little. I drive 400 highway miles / wk, so I want a smooth ride. I spent $$$ trying to get my Corolla to ride smooth, including alloys, Bilstiens and a whole new Proforged front end. Nope! My 98 Camry is the best overall car I've ever owned, but my 92 Subaru Legacy fwd wagon had hands-down the best steering ever!

    @7:50-It’s not always worn out hinges: I bought a dodge caravan new and the front doors were sagging after only 4-5 yr. I kept taking it in to adjust/rehang the doors and finally noticed a pucker in the body sheet metal around each hinge-it wasn’t thick/stiff enough to hold the doors’ weight. I took it to a body shop to have them weld in 10” long pieces of 1/4” thick steel under each hinge-problem finally solved… Too bad that was only one of dozens of problems with that sorry piece of trash…

    Hi Scotty I have a 2002 Mustang GT, 98k miles on it. Car runs great a couple minor problems though. My check engine light came on so I plugged in my scan tool and my camshaft position sensor code came up. I changed the camshaft position sensor and the engine light went away for about a week or two and came back on. I was reading the Mustang forums online and a bunch of people saying it might be the alternator going bad. Also Sometimes When I get into my car It Won’t start on the first time, it it doesn’t fire right up on the first time then it always does on the second time. Any idea what it could be thanks!

    Hi Scotty. Greetings of the day. I appreciate the knowledge you share with us.
    Please help me with this one:
    My Hyundai grand i10, which is 3 years old has 44000 miles on it. The clutch has become hard. The problem is, whenever I go at 1400-1500 rpm, I hear a wobbly noise coming from the front of the car. This stops if I take my foot off accelerator pedal and still cruse at 1500 rpm.
    Is it because of the clutch ? Or anything else...if it's the clutch, do I need to change the plates or clutch wire....
    Yes recently the car shudders a bit in 1st gear.
    There's no drop in mileage and pick up... Although I feel the top end smoothness has reduced

That's an entirely different company that build JLR cars in China it's just a way for JLR to get into the Chinese market, selling to the Chinese and avoiding the huge tax Chinese pay for imported cars.
