both high and low DAC quality is so-so for today's standard. it's on the same level as PCM1793 that was released 20 years ago assuming a good design applied. the DSP core itself might be good enough. CS4344 also used on Nakamichi DSP and probably also used on sennuopu unit. ah, yes the output rating. it's rated 28W 4Ohm with 10% THD and 22W with 1% THD. clean-ish output is rated at 15W 4Ohm at very best. did you see any opamp tied to the analog outputs?. if yes, output above 1.5Vrms is possible *the THD+N figure on the spec sheet is a total bogus if you read its chip's datasheet lol. both DAC chip rated around .003% at very best with 1k signal. the ADC itself has .001% rating at 1k
Is it worth getting for a SQL car Pro Audio build not strictly SQ? My goal is basically just Loud and Clean. I have 4 Prv PA style 6x9s in the door ran on a Recoil Di.1200.4. 4 Prv 8 inch Midbass speakers on another Recoil Di.1200.4. 4 Orion Xtr 3 way 6x9s on a Fosgate Power 400.4. 2 Audiopipe 7 inch Super tweeters on a Fosgate Prime 500.4. 2 Sundown U series 15s on a Sundown Salt 4k amp. I need 16 channels but can work with 10..
@@pfunkbro yes, go for it. you'll have a hard time to differentiate sound quality when you go super loud but when you go to the middleground (SQL), go for quality unit

Odd, I run all Recoil amps in my Navigator and they sound phenomenal. Matter of fact, 80% of my audio equipment is Recoil and it sounds phenomenal. Haven’t tried this DSP but certainly it’s odd.
When Recoil says the output is up to 9 volts, do they mean the 4 main channels are 9 volts (roughly 20 watts) and the other 6 are much lower (like 1 or 2 volts)? Maybe they should have used more chip amps so all 10 output rca could be 9v.
AK make the best sounding DACs and ADCs, although some ESS units may measure slightly better. These models are not top of their line of course, but should still be decent IF implemented correctly... Cirrus Logic (CS) also makes decent DACs. I've sent you an e-mail about the amplifiers though, as it seems that you are measuring BTL amps single ended...
Why am I not surprised? A couple years ago SMD and Tony D released a new LOC. It was not cheap. Some underground Richard Cranium, on TH-cam, started talking a lot of trash and was pushing Recoil. SMD and Tony D did a ton of public testing that showed other LOC’s were straight garbage. Even after the underground guy was exposed and called out, he doubled down. That really turned me off of Recoil.
Robot is a douche, but SMD is selling over priced products due to marketing not preformance or tech. Im not saying its junk, just way overpriced for what you get. I dont blame him, Id just never pay that much for their products.
Comments about LOC are irrelevant. Its unfortunate you were introduced to Recoil in that way. Setting that aside, the Recoil amps do seem to deliver very good power and price ratios. Keep in mind that the Recoil dsp is a completely different device. They may or may not even make the dsp. It's possible they are made by another company and labeled as Recoil.

How does these recoil dsps compare to good old school early dsps?
SQ on older ones is better, but the functionality is very limited compared to this recoil.
