    I wish I had the option to post an audio comment, that’s the only way my excitement can truly be displayed. Your video is the only one I have been waiting on and I am not at all disappointed, you gave me all the information I needed and more, so so so helpful and now I’m even happier with my purchase. Amazing detailed video. Thank you!!!!

    We own the Zoom F2BT, Tascam DR10L Pro, and the Rode Wireless Pro , and got it about a month ago. The PR2 is really the very best among all of them, being able to use it with the TC-1 just makes multi-cam recording such a joy.

      I use PR-2 with TC-1 and this combination works very well to synchronize audio and video on separate devices.
      There is just one caveat: I have to set PR-2 as a Master for synchronization.
      When I set TC-1 as a Master instead then PR-2 superficially shows that it is synchronized with TC-1 but when I open files recorded on PR-2 then they reveal some kind of internal PR-2 timecode (as if it was not synchronized with TC-1).

    You said @ 17:14 that even with the US version you can still send the timecode audio signal to camera while recording but you can't monitor it. How do you do that? I have a US unit I'm here in Texas. I can't figure out how to record audio on the PR-2 while sending timecode audio to my mic input on my camera. My camera doesn't have timecode so I need the timecode audio. I've tried all the settings and flipping the switch both ways I can get the timecode audio but the pr-2 won't record. Then I can get the PR-2 to record but no timecode audio is being sent to camera Please help

      @@kadventure68yeah. Not only that but if you try to use a stereo left right splitter the timecode audio signal is so loud it spills into the other channel and no matter what you do you still hear it. I have a tentacle track E and on that you can lower the volume output of the timecode audio so you don’t hear it on the other channel. I wish the PR-2 let you turn the timecode audio down like the tentacle but it seems it only has one volume and that’s max volume. With the TC-1 no problem either I can split and use one channel for mic audio and no spill. Go figure.

    • @kadventure68
      @kadventure68 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@slcantu you and I think a like. I also use a Track E and use a splitter with the TC-1 (haven't tried with PR-2). The track E is a bit better because you can start recording and it disables the TC output. Whereas the PR-2 you have to switch modes: record or TC output. The whole reason I purchase the PR-2 is I wanted to record 32bit AND provide time code from one unit based on the comment in the video that this was allowed.

    Great video!😊👍
    Having standard user replaceable batteries also means that the recorder won’t die, because an internal non replaceable battery becomes faulty or is at the end of its life. I had some wireless flash triggers die on me because I wasn’t using them for a longer period of time, and then when I wanted to use them again the internal battery could no longer be charged😭😡. So an internal battery basically turns whatever it’s in into a disposable throwaway product. In my case that meant around 300 USD went down the drain.🤬

      @@agostonfeher8797 I found a solution that works for me. I bought Deity TC-1 and I use it to synchronize my camera (Blackmagic 6K G2). And I use Deity PR-2 to record audio. Now my audio and video are perfectly synchronized. I just import audio and video separately into my timeline in DaVinci Resolve and they are perfectly synchronized. The only caveat is that I have to set PR-2 as a Master and synchronize TC-1 with PR-2 via the Sidus app.
      Generally I can see that people do not treat PR-2 as a timecode solution at all, they treat it just as an audio recorder (without using the timecode feature). I think that PR-2 timecode features are not exposed properly to users.

    Hi Matt, I might still be confused about the in-out switch. For the Global version, in the "In" position, everything is for normal and in the "Out" position, the output jack turns into an input jack and the Input jack (lavalier mic) stops working? If I understood this correctly, then accidentally turning off recording is not the worry but accidentally flicking this In/Out switch is.

    It's fine but most people aren't going to the expense and hassle of time code unless it's required like on a movie set. Its far more convenient to use a device that transmits the audio while recording a backup. Note most cameras don't have a timecode jack so it needs to be recorded to one of the audio channels and that can bleed into the other. It doesn't prevent drift because most cameras don't have Genlock. I've revisited timecode but every time I've passed on it.
