Freezer Door Magnets

Tired of your freezer door staying open just enough that nothing freezes? Tired of the lost fridge capacity caused by using pool noodles or pipe insulation to hold shut the freezer door? You should watch this how-to video. Although our fridge/freezer is Nova Kool, other companies have a similar setup with the freezer door on their, what I call, dorm room fridges.

I think the trick is multifold: start with dry surfaces, clean everything the adhesive will touch with alcohol, let the alcohol surfaces dry, press and hold firmly for 60 seconds the latch and the magnet pieces when positioned. Wishing you great success with it this time.

This is one of the best tips we've ever had for the van. Before we did it, food in the bottom bin was always freezing but the door stays closed now and haven't had a single thing freeze since! I wondered whether the adhesive would hold up to repeated opening and closing of the door but still perfect! Thanks much!

Glad to hear it worked for you. I think having a third magnet will benefit you situation; Kelly occasionally had, with only two magnets, something on the top shelf for the refrigerator freeze.
