- How to rebuild your tractor gearbox. I start fitting the reverse idler shaft and use a home made dummy shaft to help with assembly.
In the video I say 4th gear runs on reverse, that might be hard when it is only a three speed. I was reading another manual before filming, lol.
Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.

You have saved quite a few people countless hours with that short shaft to assist in the alignment. Great Video Lance
Thanks Benson.
G Day Lance fitting that idler without a dummy shaft would be an almost impossible job. At least it’s starting to go back together now 😎👍👍👍
Hopefully gearbox will be done next weekend.
Excellent insider information, my frustration levels would have been pretty high before I figured that out.
G Day David, Yes I think there would be a lot of needles to retrieve.
Pretty slick Lance that would be a pain in the ass without the little dummy shaft.
G Day Joe, Yeah I cant imagine it going very well, I think I would be spending a lot of time picking up needles.
Nicely done! That shaft you fabricated was a must.
G Day Bill, Yes I think I would spend a lot of time picking up needle bearings other wise.
Nice Work Lance. I'm liking this mf135 series
It is a good little project.
Hey, love the video. My thoughts are to make a spring loaded dummy pin. Sort of like a toilet paper roll holder, with a machine screw (flat head) in the center to hold the lot together. Yes indeed it's more work but, it might make installation even easier!
Yeah why not, good idea.
Awesome gen as usual!
Thanks Deebo1812
Good show!
Thanks for stopping by.
super Video Bundy
Thanks Gunter.
Good one Lance it was a bit finicky I thought at one stage it was going to drop into the gear box! Regards John
G Day John, That would happen for sure, the camera and lights get in the way at times and make it a bit difficult.
Hi Lance.
Do you know how I can download this whole series on the 135 in one go. I would like to use it as a step by step as I refurbish my 35 in a year or two.
Paying for it isn't an issue. Cheers mate.
G Day Laurence, I use a free program called clip converter and download TH-cam videos in MP4 format and use it on a usb stick. They will them play on a smart TV.
Are extra needles included in the kit?
Yes 4 extras, often they make one kit to do a couple of different models so you get left overs.
What a shit of an idea. Why didn't they just fit a roller bearing with a housing?
G Day Mal, Who knows, must have been the thinking of the era. The old Holden 3 speeds were similar.
Fergy mal I would have to agree but I think you understated it somewhat 🤬
Needle bearings can take a higher pressure load for a small package space.
