      Yeah Greg I could see where someone with a disability, arthritis or a missing arm would greatly benefit from having one of these.. One of the guys I work with is missing an arm and I can imagine some folding knives would extremely difficult for him to open

    I love my Livewires,I have 3.I bought all 3 from BUD'S GUN SHOP for $198.00 each and they had them in stock from the get go.I paid the same even for a blue one that others want as much as $270.00 and all mine came in Magnacut. You are correct about Microtech operation,I even called Microtech about this problem and told me they would look at it but it hold be the same as they could not fix it!Kershaw hit a home run with the Livewire.Great video and keep up the good work.Props from another Virginia boy.

    You mentioned VA's ban on automatic knives (switchblades, OTFs, etc). For folks who may not know...that the ban was overturned in July 2022. It's now legal to possess them. Still can't conceal them though.
    I hope Kershaw keeps pulling on this thread and comes out with different blade shapes.

    • @JCpNK
      @JCpNK  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct and good info👍.. Kershaw needs to learn how to sharpen blades first before they worry about different shapes lol

    • @aeoteroa818
      @aeoteroa818 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ohio passed a law that states that these are no longer weapons until used as such. we can conceal legally because they are no longer weapons. Ohio is pretty conservative when it comes to personal defense so i don't worry about having to change the legal definition of my blade at a moments notice. and i cant legally own a gun

    • @JCpNK
      @JCpNK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Some of them do have a safety lever but this one doesn’t.. I don’t see how it could open in your pocket because it’s such long throw on the trigger and you can’t just brush against it, you have to put a good amount of pressure on.. I’ve seen videos where people actually tried to get a false fire in their pocket and it’s hard to accomplish if not impossible

    I’ll help you with some insight to the auto game micros and heretics have stout spring for the purpose of reliability and they both have extra grippy switches so you’ll have the same complaints with heretics but it’s honestly a combo of angle of finger placement and breaking down of the tolerances of the switch I’d suggest you get a dirac with the face mounted switch as I’ve felt a few and they are easier then ultra techs , overall I like the design of the kershaw and I’ll wait for second batches when they aren’t rushing them out

    • @JCpNK
      @JCpNK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that👍.. That’s poor ergonomics on them to have a button with sharp corners if that’s the case 🤷‍♂️.. A couple of people have mentioned axial and I may try one of those next.. So far I have a pro tech TR3 for an out the side and it’s amazing.. Love my Malibus but I may like it more.. A guy at work has a benchmade out the side and his spring already broke and it wasn’t that snappy to begin with

    • @Davidmoore-xy6wu
      @Davidmoore-xy6wu ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my experience I’d agree overall when using it for regular things but over all I don’t notice the heavy switch or sharpeness on the switch when I use them at work and have things to do so I’m not ogleing the action of the knife but when using gloves of any kind the sharpness of the switch makes all the difference

      I just bought both a Guardian Tactical Recon 040 and a Microtech Ultratech Hellhound. The Recon 040 has an amazingly smooth opener and the Ultratech has a cheese grater for a switch which can only be easily opened and closed by the Hulk. If John Wick had to rely on mine to save his life, he would have been dead in the first half of the first movie. I love the looks of their designs, but not worth it because of the painful and difficult to open switches.

    • @samoliver9132
      @samoliver9132 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gladius1275 the switch on the microtech is hard to open at first but then you get callouses on your thumb and it won’t be as sensitive. It’s easier to open if you hold your arm at like a 130 degree angle angle rather than having it straight. I’m only 130lbs and I can open it so I’m sure John wick could open his

    • @doejon9424
      @doejon9424 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fully agree. Guardian Tactical makes a better & smoother "Double Action OTF". I wish they would make some "special runs" like Microtech does sometimes. With Guardian Tactical you only have like 4-5 anodized colors to choose from & 3 different blade styles. That being said.. it doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as it functions. I sold many of my Microtechs after getting my hands on some Guardian Tactical OTF's. Best place to find them is Ebay or a knife/gun show. Plus they consistently use Elmax steel. Winner all the way around.

    i love beautiful knives (for some reason, esp edc-type pocket knives).
    BUT.... knives are one of those things that just seem to disappear easily, in my exp (not to mention they tend to get beat up if you want to play with them extensively).
    I've had maybe about 2 g worth of knives stolen... some by police officers during minor interactions... "calm down, you'll get it back. we just need to check it." I mean, check it for what...? You stopped my buddy for speeding... wtf does my Ultratech have anything to do with anything? it is legal in this state and blade length is legal... i have zero criminal record.
    I once tried asking for a complaint form and the person at the metro police office front desk just chewed his gum, smiled, and stared at me silently. i can't imagine what would happen if they saw i actualy had some kind of a criminal record before these interactions... prob would have had a few concussions by now from my skull being bashed into the concrete.
    Anyway, now i just carry decent budget stuff that functions but you don't stare at and think, "oooo purdy." those tend to gather less unwanted attention in my exp. also never carry more than 100$ around.
    it kinda reminds me of that old SNL spoof commercial about 'The POS Luxury Automobile'... the car with the extensively-designed theft deterrent system of looking like a hunk of junk... and they have that ball bearing rolling into a rust hole. lol

      My laptop is actually made in America but they don’t make I phones in the USA.. I guess supporting your home country and buying local is lost on most people now days.. Also there are plenty of US brands I don’t buy because I don’t like them, not going to buy something just because.. Everyone is free to buy what they want and they shouldn’t care what others think about it.. I wouldn’t expect a troll to understand that though

    You talk around what you are really trying to say, kills a lot of time, and loses your audience. You might try getting rid of the extra words and stay on point. Also, once you’ve made a point don’t go back around and say the same thing 4-5 more times. This will give your reviews more value.

    If all of you guys are PRO 2nd Amendment, Benchmade is ANTI 2nd Amendment. Just wanted you to know before you give them money, which helps them take away your Rights.

      This is a review about a Kershaw knife.. Not sure if you meant that instead of Benchmade

    Definitely on my list, first gotta score the microtech Glykon for double the price. Grab a Dirac Delta or the SOG Pentagon, you won't be disappointed.
