    Cancelled my TV licence on line a couple of years ago, and received a prompt refund. No longer have a TV. I have all I want on my computer: TH-cam or DVDs. I must just say that it has greatly improved my sense of wellbeing. I no longer have to keep stabbing the remote to get rid of the mind-numbing, soul-destroying adverts every 10 minutes, or waste time searching the multitude of channels - in vain - trying to find anything remotely watchable.....Best thing I've done in years!

      Surprised no one has actually got one of these jobs yet to inform people of their rights with this bs BBC tax and not needing to pay it if they are not watching live tv, Now that would make for interesting viewing watching people beat the system from inside it.

    'RETURN TO SENDER' notice I attach to these time wasters:
    The law on ‘Stalking’ recently achieved a serious widening of scope. A widening which resulted in a man called Alex Belfield, being incarcerated for FIVE YEARS.
    "One of the many successful complaints brought against him, was for ‘Stalking a Radio Station’. it seems fairly likely to me, that YOU and your unsolicited endeavours are on VERY thin ice here.
    I have NO CONTRACT, nor commitment to you - whoever you are. You appear to live in Darlington and despite numerous returns of junk-mail, sent to me by you (or some other party with too much time on their hands, living in Darlington) you persist in being a nuisance.
    Perhaps some time spent in a cell next to the unfortunate Mr. Belfield is what it takes to allow the futility of your ‘Stalking’ to become apparent?
    I sincerely hope not.

    So the licence was for The BBC how have they expanded it to any live broadcast ? I don't understand this as ITV has adverts thus it is paid for via adverts. If you pay for prime you are paying for a private broadcast nothing to do with The BBC. Sohow can they say you should pay a licence for BBC if you do not watch it and what has live broadcast got to do with it it could be your own live broadcast. I don't watch TV but my Mother does as we share the house but again she is a pensioner and all of a sudden after saying she no longer needed to pay a licence they changed it. Also MPs don't pay licence fee. I would love to see The BBC go bankrupt its such a lying piece of crap propaganda evil broadcasting company.

    • @DARTraderMediaProductions
      @DARTraderMediaProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its crazy they have managed to get away with it for so long, I agree the licence should just cover the BBC content. You can watch live streams as long as they are not by a main broadcaster, we often watch a live stream on TH-cam as long as it’s not by Sky news, BBC or and other broadcaster for example. If your mother doesn’t watch or record live TV and isn’t using iplayer a licence is not required. We use Netflix, Prime, Discovery+ and the catch-up services for anything that was broadcast except iplayer as this would need a licence. To be honest there really isn’t much broadcast TV worth watching these days, too many repeats the last time I looked. There’s only the BBC stuff anyone would be unable to watch if they went licence free and that’s just fine with us. The BBC would like to see the licence fee added to the council tax or broadband bill when the charter expires in 2027 so we all have to pay, watch or not. As it is at the moment we do have a choice, hopefully the BBC will go commercial and show adverts. I can’t see a subscription method working for them as the content just isn’t good enough.

    As an ex Meter reader this is exactly why I left a job that I loved for many years. Please understand Meter readers hate having to do this and have empathy with customers after all we’re all in the same boat but we are forced by our employers and threatened with the sack if we refuse.
    I developed a system similar to the guy in the video (which is actually what we were instructed to do by our employer) to reduce the chances of being confronted by the customer which involved parking a bit away from the property and inserting the card as quickly and efficiently as possible so as to not alert them to our presence however often this didn’t work due to having to walk by a window or being seen/heard by an alert pet dog.
    I also had to post threatening bill demands on behalf of a number of well known energy providers in the middle of the Covid shutdown many of which were unemployed and struggling single parents which was in my view - inhumane.
    Like many large faceless employers LB doesn’t give a toss about it’s employees. It is all about making money for them.

    You MUST let them keep visiting. More than 3 times becomes continuous illegal and unlawful harassment. Then you phone the number on the letter and inform the registered company that you have NO contract with, that - "the next time you send one of your minions to my door I will arrest him/her for the above reasons". They will say "and how will you do this" - you respond with - lawfully. That you will contact the (useless) police to have them legally removed and will press charges for the above.
    You then inform them that any further letters will be returned to them via your solicitor with all appropriate fees.
    You also point out that - buying or paying for a tv license is committing and supporting the act of Treason under the 1848 Treason and Felony Act. Then promptly hang up.
    Be calm and assertive. Do not swear.

    The meter readers who work for Lowri Beck are mainly temps or self employed doing Capita TV licence work for extra money. Considering enforcement officers only get a base expense and they have to sell a license to actually earn any money from commission it means long hours for little reward hence why enforcement officers ignore the guidelines and turn to finding ways of entrapment.
    Like any sales company like selling double glazing you have to reach a monthly target to keep your job, the company can't afford to give you a monthly expense without a return.
    It would be nice to see how many hand deliveries need to be made to earn just £1 and if there is extra money for every response to a hand delivery?

    I cancelled mine a few year's ago, I did it officially on line and even got a refund from Crapita however the letters started coming the following month, when the two years of letter free (or one every couple of months) was up I did nothing, never contacted them to let them know I still did not need a licence, still get the letters I file them away safely, in the shredder.

    I have never had a TV Licence for more years than I can remember. If they come to the door and you answer never say who you are and make them identify they will also ask you to confirm your address by asking is this 333 stick it where the sun don't shine street (example street) again ignore and ask for ID and when they say TV Licence simply walk back in and close the door. They are door to door salesmen/women with Zero power and do not fill in the online form. If you do click NO on everything or you will fail and need a Licence as they purposely missed out the word LIVE. Just ignore everything to do with them. Easy explanation is thus, you do not contact your Dr to tell them you do not have Clamida and do not need Antibiotics. You do not email Asda and tell them you do not need to shop there this week so why would you tell the BBC you do not need a Licence ?

    • @DARTraderMediaProductions

      TV licencing use them to deliver some of their letters and pass it off as a visit. In some parts of the country they also use them to spy on people when they call to read meters in properties with indoor meters.

Or of I answer close the door without acknowledging them. I'll then send the footage to TH-cam channels for a laugh. They are scammers and use intimidation, but don't like it turned back on them.

      I don’t think £159 a year is very good value considering what you get for it and who gets the money.
      The BBC daily schedule consists of just too many repeats for one thing and what isn’t a repeat I would not wish to watch anyway.
      I also think the days of broadcast TV are nearing an end and few really want to have to watch to a schedule these days or record their favourite programs. The only live broadcast programs in the future will be news and sport events and these will be streamed, no dish or aerial.
      I pay for what I want to watch and I watch it when I want to watch it, we have a choice and I choose not to support the BBC.
      You think £159 a year good value and you are entitled to that opinion and if you’re happy to pay and enjoy what you get for the money then that’s fine.
      We can still watch around 90% of TV using the catch-up services except any BBC content so missing nothing really and can watch it when we want without parting with £159. Many thanks.

    Do you know that you are not allowed to monitor people on the street and other public areas with your security cameras ? Your cameras viewing angles should be limited to your own property only.

    • @DARTraderMediaProductions
      @DARTraderMediaProductions  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      That’s simply not true. You can film beyond the edge of your property. It’s impossible to not film beyond when using a Ring door bell due to its design lack of adjustment. All my neighbours are aware of the cameras and happy they are there. If we are not allowed to film as you suggest then the Ring doorbell company would be finished.
