If only Microcenters weren't so rare (with only 26 stores in the whole country), it definitely would've made the list

True; the closest for me is about 100 miles away. You lose so much in gas costs and time getting there and back. I think they would be a gold mine if they started on-line sales, but that's me.

I live next to two of them. One is about 10-15 minutes away depending on the traffic light lottery, and the other is about 30 mins away. I honestly couldn't imagine not having one nearby. That must suck.

theres 2 in my state, they are 150 miles and 169 miles away. thats a 6 hour drive round trip. The nearest Best Buy is 42 miles. Id love to go to micro center but i have to settle with best buy as it being closer

@@cosmicgrim7963 One good thing I can say about Best Buy is they have price match guarantee with any deals you find online. Sadly their selection is really poor these days and their staff usually knows less than you about computer parts. But I wouldn't drive 6 hours to go to MicroCenter either... 😅

My first pc came from computer world (long ago shut down) with a 256 mb (512 mb was top of the line at the time but cost $479 as opposed to 256mb being $78) graphics card, external stereo card, and a whopping 872mb hard drive. My how things have changed in the last 31 years.

I have seen in the past from Costco: A Razer bundle of keyboard, mouse, headset and XL desk pad. For monitors, there is a LG Ultragear 32" VA panel 165HZ 1440p Widescreen on sale for $225. And this sale price happens very often. I had to buy 2 off sale. Then went to Customer Service and talked to them about it. Being an Executive Member, I didn't need my receipt, they looked it up and gave me back the difference, $140.

That 34” monitor from Costco is the one I got, and it has honestly been incredible. It’s not 4k, but it’s 1440 and the image is gorgeous, and it’s very responsive when you enable 165Hz refresh rate. For sub 300 bucks I have ZERO complaints.

@@bruhhguy80 Pennies made before 1982 are 95% copper and 5% zinc. Today they’re 95% zinc so in theory the older penny that’s almost entirely copper will cool down a cpu a lot more efficiently.

my first gaming build.. actually, assembly from other PC parts was i think around 1997? i remember switching parts out to other computer and the moment i was shaking and scared to press power on. the thouight i would fried the pc. it turn on and works except the graphic was limited. the color was in white black and purple. i went to the school and went to the school lab and ask the technician for help. he gave me a book and some free stuff like games. surirpsely he had tons of video games in the backroom. then i learn to find drivers for hardware and stuff. this is all without internet at the time. i learn things reading book, download drivers on floppy disk at school and bring it home.
the time i was messing with computer from 44mhz cpu to 233mhz to 400mhz. then the time i had first purchase a 933mhz computer with cd burner was felt so fast and smooth. now computer runs with ssd and multi core which is smoother but doesnt feel any faster in term of leap and bonds of monster power. i dont really get those feeling of speed anymore. it seem to hit the wall of speedyness.

The only advantage I think Costco has because you pay for a membership. You get an extended warranty almost free. If you buy the warranty at Walmart. It could end up being a more expensive purchase. That’s why I buy my OLED TV’s from Costco. They usually upgrade the warranty and if I had bought the same TV at Best Buy I would spend more money on warranties when Costco offers the same warranty and service for free in a sense. Yes there is a yearly membership fee at Costco. The membership fee end up paying for itself.

@@jayytee4977 What how what??When your an executive member (not surer if same for regular members) you get some of the money you spend back every year. We mostly use it for our membership because we spend a lot there and get back something like $200 to $300 a year.
