Should do a bonus 500$ round to see who can improve their setup the most to see which one is actually better because imo they both equally suck and could be better with alittle more planning
But IMO it comes down to what was available in the store for "cheap" to appeal to the budget gamers

@@karltee7862 Also not every Target, or Walmart stocks the exact same items, nor will they always have them available online, and both Target, and Walmart's websites will sometimes tell you check a store right outside your normal area that with the current gas prices does not make sense to drive too, as it nearly doubles the cost of the item you're looking for, so it's as much of a crap shoot as just buying it online from someplace like Amazon, or eBay, plus not everyone wants to game on a laptop setup.

I'm a Best Buy employee I feel like this was such a hard challenge to pull off. Both Target and Walmart are doing great things in making laptops more available, and at more price points, but for both companies PC Gaming is a very new market for them, and both have struggled with supply. My local Walmart carries the exact same laptop that Ken bought at Target, but only have it in stock like three days every two months. And looking at my local Walmart's current stock online, I'm finding MSI's for less than $700. So it is a matter of Ken went cheap to conserve on budget, or did he go cheap because there was literally no options in stock.
(To be fair even us at Best Buy struggle to keep gaming laptops in stock under $1000. Don't get many, don't stay long; we just compensate by having a variety of options.)
@@scottmorrison3929 they need to do a series where they shop Best Buy for kitchen items…. Oh that’s not their wheelhouse. It’s the same thing with this “series” or whatever you call it. Both stores have enough to pass but if you want computer accessories, go to a dedicated store. If you want kitchen items, you need a specific store.

They sell actual desk chairs at both stores. You would think that is what you would choose automatically.

Money
You could from Target, mind you just keeping to what they have in the store, which is 3 low quality chairs. I'm pretty certain I had the bonded leather office chair back in the day. Ugly and terrible to have to tighten the screws each week. Walmart locally has 4 and they are a better range. Some better quality but you can see the cheapness. At the end of the day you are better off popping into a Staples or a Home Depot if you want to find something that's better if you have to buy locally. Otherwise I'd just shop on Amazon.
@@bacstaber6253 what's money have to do with it. Ken just forgot altogether and Evan didn't think instead just got a fancy bar stool. They didn't have a set budget. This ain't about money, it's about not thinking.
The desk chairs both Walmart, and Target carry in store are usually low quality crap not worth your money no matter what your budget is, and like the other commenter said Staples has a way better selection, and that's where I got my last chair being a Tempurpedic, and it's been great knowing I have a chair that won't break on me insight of 2 weeks, or hurt my back, and butt when I sit in it for longer than a few minutes.
It's like watching Peter and Ned set up their gaming rooms. I love it 🤘

Austin should have won the aesthetic portion of the video. Kens looks like it is straight out of a corporate apartment from 2007 especially with the fruit painting. Why fruit in your house man? That being said great finds and really appreciated the professional look of both setups.

I rock similar specs to that HP Pavillion, 1650ti and an i5 10300H. Mines an Acer Nitro 5, though. For a budget, the 1650 or the newer 3050 are great GPUs, ignore the hardcore saying it's trash!
I bought a refurbished HP Pavillion i5 9400 recently minus graphics card, bought that model HP was using since they made rgb mechanical keyboard/mouse Pavillion gaming branding
I own an HP Pavilion, 1660 ti max q and i7-9750H. It's performance sucks, tbh. It's been around 2 years now, and I get only about 150 fps in Valorant (lowest settings, NVIDIA performance mode, and optimization performance in This PC).
@@suthirthadas8315 the Max-Q is a tame card aiming for efficiency over performance. Also are you using a monitor or not (connecting to a monitor can improve performance). I could probably get more fps with my 1650ti through some MSI Afterburner.
I have a similar HP model but it was I-5 9300H gtx 1650 $598 at Walmart February 2021.Then In December I snagged a Victus i5-11400H, 3050 for $750 at best but…and let me tell you you can see and feel the difference next to a 1650 at the same 4gb ram limit…I’m happy with the performance.

The hp pavilion laptops are actually pretty solid, it’s what my dad uses but I personally went with the nitro 5 mostly because of upgradability, I have no idea what the upgrade path for the pavilion series is like
it’s the same, there’s an open hard drive slot and open sodimm i got the pavilion for 450 at micro center with an R5 5600U

Y'all could have printed photos as posters at Target and at Walmart. Plus they both sell office/gamer chairs. Also, since CVS owns the pharmacy in Target, technically Target is CVS. They both could have fone better but I kinda like Ken doing a fruit theme on the fly with what was in his grasp. That's creativity!

I think Ken went cheap because it is no way you will get a gaming laptop for about 750$ like Austin did. Most of the Walmart gaming PC/laptops are really high.
So i think them switching places and shopping without each other would make this a little more interesting because then Ken wouldn't feel rush and Austin can just pick what he wants.
walmart sells their gateway laptops the creator series for like 750-900$ and they have 3050's in them

The reason I don’t like Walmart is because the managers treat their employs really bad.
I mean that all depends on what games your playing for Kens laptop as if your just a casual gaming you can easily play less intensive games or even lower the settings in the ori game
