Can I get this 1991 Yamaha Venture Royale up and running and back on the road?

- Im in uncharted territory here with this 1991 Yamaha Venture Royale. I took a gamble buying this motorcycle. In this video, I work through the process of getting this bike up and running again. Find out what's wrong with it and attempt to fix the problems I find in order to get it back on the road again.

What a bargain! I’d never seen or even heard of one of those, we can’t have had them for sale over here in the UK
@benspeedschannel888 I know right! Crazy good deal. I have a few things to deal with on it, but I think I've got a pretty good head start. Ya possibly not sold over there . Not sure. I'm not to familiar with these big bikes. I always think of them as Honda goldwings and all looked the same till now lol. Looking forward to posting more videos on this bike as I work through some of the problems with it. Cheers!

I just bought a 1984 venture royale 1200. Going to work on it. Looks good. We ll see
@Zonginit2 right on! Should be a fun project for you and a fun bike to ride. I plan on posting more videos on the work I'll be doing on it over the next little while. I got a few projects on the go at the moment. Currently riding the Venture royale to work every day now. So far so good . Haven't had any problems yet. Cheers!
That brake fluid was looking grim 😳
@benspeedschannel888 ya, it sure did, hey. I've never seen brake fluid foam up like that before. I'm not sure what that's all about. Might have to flush out all of the old fluid with new. Like how is it foaming up. Would it be reacting to some kind of contamination idono. They feel firm now, but for how long is what I'm thinking.
@@CenterStandMechanX I’ve never seen brake fluid foam like that either, very odd indeed. Definitely worth you giving the system a flush out I reckon.

I do,nt know what you paid,,but if you can get it on the road,what agreat deal it will be,,,I mean consider the new bikes in this class like K1600 and Goldwing are mega money and none will hold value...I would think that only a Touring Harley will hold value in the long run ,,20/30years time...
@lipsee100 Ya Harleys definitely holds value. I bought this one for 400 bucks off a buddy. I work with that hauls and deals junk on the side. So hes like a go-to guy for all your junk needs, lol. Someone needed it gone because their underground parking was getting renovated. So it was situational, I guess you could say. I've also spent about 300 so far on parts so far getting it up and running for the road. It's definitely a good deal so far, and Im having a blast riding it. There does seem like there are a lot of these types of bikes selling for cheap in my area. In various states of condition and price points. Mostly low in price. I'm currently working on my next video on it, which I am probably going to post later today. Hope you can check it out. Thanks, Cheers!
@@CenterStandMechanX $400 is a steal,,,situational is where it at.. I,m British and things are different here,,but a bargain is still a bargain,, I went out with my Mrs ,for a bite,, outside the shop was a 1975 GL1000 totally stock going for £500 (about$750),,I was broke ,,,soo got the Mrs to buy me a birthday present(3 months away) and the bike was mine,,, Iv had it now 10yrs ,,diesel in the tank and oil in the bores and its stood (like a fine wine) just last week I decided to clean it up and get on the road,,,,Honestly this bike is fantastic,everything has cleaned up even the exhaust ...anyway good luck ,,,and I will be watching ...

@kymhaniford lol haa ya I don't know about that. She's a keeper! It does seem like there's lots of these types of older touring bikes out there for sale dirt cheap tho. Not a lot of people want to take a chance on them maybe. I bet you could find one close to the same price. Could be a big project and a money pit . We will see. Cheers

@kymhaniford All the way down under eh! Cool I'm in BC Canada eh! That's to bad there expensive there. They must have flooded the market up here. You guys must have a lot of adventure bikes there, I bet though. You must see a lot of African twins and Teneres there
@@CenterStandMechanX Yes we do but being only a small population here makes it still minimal numbers compared to sales in the USA and Canada.
@kymhaniford oh ok didn't know that. We are spoiled up here, lol at least when it comes to motorcycles I guess. Rent is ridiculously high and other cost of living things too. I can't eat my motorcycle but I can ride in style as I starve lol
