I'm so sick of the "These false accusations are even worse because it makes getting justice harder for actual victims!" mantra. "Innocent until proven guilty" should apply to every crime, especially one of which there are more false accusations than actual instances. There are countless safety nets and support systems for SA victims, yet absolutely nothing for false accusation victims, despite being just as devastating.
It won't. There is a woman who admitted this to the police and the guy is still in jail and they won't retry or give him a release. Once you are accused, you are done. Now we know why so many men are no longer dating or talk to women. It's to be accused if you ignore them.
Fellas remember this, women or women first. They will take whatever their female friends say at face value without question, even at the expense of much longer more important relationships. This woman ruined her male friend’s life over nothing but the word of some new female friend.
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 The moment we open this door, it is finished. Innocent until proven guilty that's it. If you have no evidence, it sucks but there is nothing we can do about it. It is sad but that’s the harsh reality of this world: sometimes bad people do bad things and there is nothing we can do because they executed their plan too well. We have only two options: we can accept the risk or on the contrary avoid any situation involving it. However, we cannot decide to put people in jail or socially alienate them without any proof. If we do then people like Samantha will start to weaponize false accusations and ruin lives on a whim.
What a terrible person OP is. In group bias at it's best. She knew Samantha was being dishonest that's what makes her worse. She believed her because she was a woman.
Not hard to see why she has difficulty connecting with her son on an emotional level. This woman is clearly stuck in a high school mentality and wants to relive The glory days through him.
I don't think people fully understand how common these stories are, and i wonder how many more decades of hurt men will it take before society crashes.
It absolutely happens. I remember that people used to get suspended at my high school for things that not only happened off school property, but during the weekend.
Zero accountability on ops part, and both the accuser and friend should face charges for filing a false report, even so long after the fact, especially since it ended in the death of the accused. S2 break up with the single mom, her ignoring his advice is just going to be a constant if they get married. She is a terrible mother and he should call CPS on her and leave her on the streets.
Understand this about karma, if you caused someone to commit suicide then your ending will also be from suicide no matter how you believe it's not going to happen to you.
S1: no leave him alone you’ve done enough and You’re an idiot. And he passed tsk now that makes her even worse S2: she ruined the kid’s self esteem. Other commenters on here have adequately covered story 1. Story 2: Ladies, you should be GRATEFUL to have a man that will take a son of yours that has a different baby daddy. Be warned: more and more men are catching on to the double standard of you telling him "that's your child" when a bill needs to be paid but at the same time that's "not your child" when discipline or hard decisions need to be made. Pick a lane and stick to it, or risk losing the new man in the process.
Don't apologize/make amends or even reach out UNLESS it would benefit the person receiving the apology. There are some people I would rather never see again versus getting an apology from.
It is amazing how she wanted to barge into the life of the man she destroyed, but was too scared to barge into the life of the woman who encouraged her to do it and lie to her. She is still weak, and truthfully since he is dead, and they both contributed to it, that woman Samantha should be exposed too. It is not too late to expose a manipulator who contributed to the destruction of a person's life and future. I am willing to bet Samatha is still out there manipulating people.

This is why I don't date single moms, lol. It's not the kid that drives me away, it's the mother. If they are getting married, they have to be partners and make those decisions together, trusting that their combined experiences and reasoning will lead to compromises that are overall objectively better than either would have arrived at alone. She doesn't view OP as a partner, in her mind he's just a boyfriend who gave her a ring and will soon be taking over more of the bills, lol. That's not a great foundation for a marriage. But I don't think she's a bad person. She made a very common mistake. She's used to parenting her child unilaterally, and delegating some of those decisions is going to be hard for her. She ignored what her son wanted, and that hurt him. She feels bad about that. When OP called her out on that, she became defensive and doubled down. That's not ideal, but it is pretty typical human behavior. Everyone makes similar mistakes from time to time, it's not an indictment of their character, but it is something they need to be able to acknowledge (and it sounds like she did... eventually). But yeah, as a man, that incident would have had me questioning my future with her. Of course she is the kid's mother. But she can't have her cake and eat it too... ask him to be a father to her son while shutting him out of any meaningful decision. And single moms do this a LOT... not all, of course, but I would say it's very much the norm.
This kid deserves better than her. It's pretty clear why he connects more strongly with OP. It's because he actually listens and doesn't try to project his own high school experience onto the boy.
everyone says that she shouldnt contact Tom bc it might bring up bad old memories again, but nobody thinks about the possibility that maybe Tom is the type of person who wants his name cleared and want to hear an apology from the accuser herself. if he's someone that doesnt want to hear from her again, then he'll hear from her again once, it'll bring up the pain again, but then he'll never hear from her again, and he will forget about it again. if he wants to hear the apology, he would go the rest of his life wondering if his former best friend still believed that he would do that one is temporary pain, the other is permanent pain, so logically the best decision is actually to reach out to Tom since it's up to the accuser or original victim to make the next move he died by overdose and signs point to that he never got over it. perhaps if she found out and reached out sooner, it would help him to recovery knowing his name was cleared. people don't tend to think about this perspective
lmao it's a risk sure but that's a generalization. Yes, I had a female friend spread rumors about me (that I was staring at her) instead of talking to me but all of her and my female friends took my side. All of them, didn't expect them to but they did. Because they know me. Most women with a brain would take their "best friend's" side but yes there's a risk. But I can't live life in perpetual fear, I'm already so alone. I don't want to not have female friends. if I can help it.

This is an incredibly heavy and painful situation for everyone involved. It’s important to acknowledge the harm caused by false accusations, as they can destroy lives and trust, not only for the person accused but also for others who are genuinely seeking justice in similar situations. You couldn't sue Op for slander. You have to prove: You knowingly lied You spread the misinformation with malicious intent neither happened on OP's part. She actually has grounds to sue Samantha along with Tom's family.
The thing that really sucks about the first story is that even though OP would be telling the truth to blame it on Samantha, the guy she falsely accused is never going to believe that because it sounds like an excuse
Story 2. You know why she spoke out of anger and "didn't mean any of it"? Because she is too comfortable running her mouth. Because there are no consequences for her running her mouth like she did, and that's his fault.
Story 1. This is why I never believe a woman who says they have been SA'd. There are too many false accusations, and NEVER any consequences for those false accusations. Until the false accusers start getting punished, then it will never stop. Also, I think that it is absolutely insane that a woman can walk into a police station and make a claim without any proof, and the guy is automatically guilty, and his life is ruined over it.

And that accuser? They know. And they don't care. Story 1 OP was used as a pawn to do this, sure. But she still did it. OP chose to listen to someone she hardly knew over her best friend. She destroyed him, and now he's gone. OP, live with the guilt. You are at fault, and you need to never, ever forget that you ended that man. You did.
What a terrible person OP in story 1 is
Samantha is even worse, don’t let the woman off the hook
@ of course
Honestly Samantha is the real villain and chances are she'll keep ruining people's lives just out of jealousy and spite and is a menace to society just waiting to happen. Still even if OP was a "victim" of manipulation, she still aided in ruining someone's life and never came forward cuz she was afraid of the consequences. She still has Tom's blood on her hands and no amount of penance is gonna make up for that.
Story 1: you practically unalived someone else. Congratulations
She needs not just confront Samanta but put her in prison for false accusations and Tom's death. Because if these women don't suffer the consequences, they wouldn't learn the lesson and wouldn't stop acting that way
If only OP and Samantha follow in Tom's footsteps.
The comments better not let OP feel a moment of peace
OP was a narcissistic Piece of crap... She was so fast to reconnect TOM to make her feel better... Even tho it wouldn't change anything for TOM...
14:20 But when it comes to confronting her friend she makes excuses, and doesn't wanna take responsibility...
Sounds like Samantha needs to be taught a permanent lesson.
O p was never Tom's friend. He was hers but she was wasn't his.
Story 1: the OP should clear Tom’s name, especially to his family, that’s the least she can do
It won't. There is a woman who admitted this to the police and the guy is still in jail and they won't retry or give him a release. Once you are accused, you are done. Now we know why so many men are no longer dating or talk to women. It's to be accused if you ignore them.
False accusations should get jail time.
Fellas remember this, women or women first. They will take whatever their female friends say at face value without question, even at the expense of much longer more important relationships. This woman ruined her male friend’s life over nothing but the word of some new female friend.
Exactly, this is why you don’t “Believe All Women”, you shouldn’t believe ANY woman without evidence
@@patsypersaud how are they supposed to get said evidence? If it happens behind closed doors?
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259that just means females ary lying lmfao 😂😂😂
That's because women have in group bias.
That’s why Ill never settle with a single mom.
Nothing will matter if your name isn’t on her children birth certificate.
Story 2: I don't care if she says this out of anger. Some things can't be taken back. Don't marry that Person!
Not hard to see why she has difficulty connecting with her son on an emotional level. This woman is clearly stuck in a high school mentality and wants to relive The glory days through him.
Her entire friend group were terrible people.
I don't think people fully understand how common these stories are, and i wonder how many more decades of hurt men will it take before society crashes.
What right does a school have to suspend a student accused of something unproven that happened at a party? Complete BS..
It absolutely happens. I remember that people used to get suspended at my high school for things that not only happened off school property, but during the weekend.
I already knew he had ended himself as soon the linked in profile that wasn’t updated it years came up really sad
With friends like this who needs enemies
It’s everybody’s fault but her own! I HATE that trait in people.
And this person was your friend? Wow.
Had a feeling Tom ended himself. This stuff happens everyday.
"I can't confront samantha...."
At least OP is consistent
To keep it 100% real, I highly doubt Samantha would care.
She is still trying to come off as a victim through all of this? I can only hope her and her friend meet the same end.
She is a victim. You do realize she believed what was said, most likely suffered trauma due to it right?
"Believe all women", right? smh There needs to be serious jail time and/or financial consequences for those who make false accusations.
Understand this about karma, if you caused someone to commit suicide then your ending will also be from suicide no matter how you believe it's not going to happen to you.
In the first story does she get he’s dead because of her? Likely an addict because of her
S1: no leave him alone you’ve done enough and You’re an idiot. And he passed tsk now that makes her even worse
S2: she ruined the kid’s self esteem. This is another example of why no single mothers if it works for you sure but this happens all the time when they feel like they’re right your opinion/input doesn’t matter.
She ruined a man's life then wants to traumatize him all over again.
It's her guilt to carry while not telling anyone of importance. Such a martyr.
Story 1. OP should contact OP’s family and have them sue Samantha for defamation and emotional damages.
She should sue Samantha. Don't forget she believed she was raped. Rape victims often feel traumatized even if they don't remember the assult itself.
What sort of apology could you even make at this point?
Don't apologize/make amends or even reach out UNLESS it would benefit the person receiving the apology.
There are some people I would rather never see again versus getting an apology from.
Wish first op would have went to jail for life
For believing she was raped? Wow. What a pos you are.
I am willing to bet Samatha is still out there manipulating people.
jail.ASAP.
Last story: a woman and a mother leaves it to her boyfriend to talk to her child because he's better with emotional issues? That confirmed what I had thought from the beginning: OP's GF is pretty deep in psychopathy spectrum
Yeah OP in the 1st story is the reason why Tom is dead, she should really think herself and Samantha as murderers, I wouldn't wish such kind of treatment even to my enemies
Usually reddit stories are fake (or exaggerated), but for story 1 I really do hope it's fake but I have a feeling that it wasn't fake or exaggerated, as the statistics speak for themselves
It's not a reddit story, it's an AI story that was never posted to reddit. It was made up by SecretVoices with ChatGPT.
Story 2: that's why no matter how, never get involved with a single mother
"i wonder if tom ever recovered and found happiness" ... OP HES GONE THAT HAPPINESS BROKE AND SHATTERED WHEN HIS BEST FRIEND THE FRIEND HE TRUSTED THE FRIEND HE KNEW FOR A LONG TIME .. let that sink in op and you call yourself a friend you to quickly believe the words of another person without asking anyone else at the party if they saw tom there or not you wouldve gotten your answer if they saw tom at the party when wouldve he been in your room if he was somewhere else
Story 2: OP if you are better with emotional issues than your fiancée the mother - this is a GREAR RED FLAG!
I didn't get to swy goodbye is crazy to say after ruining someone's life
everyone says that she shouldnt contact Tom bc it might bring up bad old memories again, but nobody thinks about the possibility that maybe Tom is the type of person who wants his name cleared and want to hear an apology from the accuser herself.
if he's someone that doesnt want to hear from her again, then he'll hear from her again once, it'll bring up the pain again, but then he'll never hear from her again, and he will forget about it again. if he wants to hear the apology, he would go the rest of his life wondering if his former best friend still believed that he would do that
one is temporary pain, the other is permanent pain, so logically the best decision is actually to reach out to Tom since it's up to the accuser or original victim to make the next move
he died by overdose and signs point to that he never got over it. perhaps if she found out and reached out sooner, it would help him to recovery knowing his name was cleared. people don't tend to think about this perspective
#2: "I support you, but you ruined your kid's birthday by not listening to him."
Story 1 is a prime example is why men should NEVER be friends with women, even if you have nothing but platonic intentions throughout
This.
Don't marry single mom with daughter
lmao it's a risk sure but that's a generalization.
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259Fair enough, just be prepared to spend the rest of your life as a social pariah or in jail when you upset the wrong one
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 Then good for you. But remember that one bad day on their part means 20 yrs in prison for you even if you did nothing.
What op should do is making a video on every social media there is and mentioning Samantha and everyone connected to her from her family to her coworkers and just spill the beens out about what she did - the op said that Samantha likes drama let us see what would she do if the drama caught up to her.
The op and Samantha deserve jail time. She murdered a man because she was a little moron who wanted attention.
Reconcile? You need to give yourself a short drop with a sudden stop
This is an incredibly heavy and painful situation for everyone involved. It’s important to acknowledge the harm caused by false accusations, as they can destroy lives and trust, not only for the person accused but also for others who are genuinely seeking justice in similar situations. It’s equally important to recognize how manipulative people can prey on emotions and create devastating consequences. Moving forward, taking responsibility, seeking forgiveness, and learning from this experience is critical. I hope all parties can find healing and closure. Let’s all remember to approach such situations with care, thoroughness, and empathy to prevent misunderstandings and ensure justice
damn, and the person who start the whole manipulation gets to live consequences free and guilt free
"The latest thing i found of him online was his resume which hadnt been updated for years."
Me: he dead, probably by his own gun.
"He died to drugs"
Me: i hate even being close.
This is why people who lie about SA need to go to jail, I'm sick of this S, it doest take much for a man to lose everything.
Here is how the first person can atone for what she did to ruin Tom's life, she can go to the police and tell them about her history with Tom, and then turn herself in for falsely accusing him of sexual assault.
Nah, you're a coward ma'am. Being unable to tell the people who ge was either family with or that Samantha girl they deserve to know from YOU.
Post the truth on Social media, and tell Tom the truth so he can sue both of you for slander.
You couldn't sue Op for slander. You have to prove:
You knowingly lied
You spread the misinformation with malicious intent neither happened on OP's part. She actually has grounds to sue Samantha along with Tom's family.
I hope she never gets over the guilt over what she caused
This being quite common now a days is why i have a personal rule to never ever believe women who claims SA based on hearsay only.
Most SA's follow this pattern.
What a gutless PoS OP in Story 1 is. Hideous.
The thing that really sucks about the first story is that even though OP would be telling the truth to blame it on Samantha, the guy she falsely accused is never going to believe that because it sounds like an excuse
False accusers never face consequences.
I wouldn't want to be her best friend
OP will live with her actions for the rest of her life. Tom will forever haunt her in memory.
Wasn’t the last time a cousin who accused him and now it’s a friend who is accusing them
Contact his family and tell them the truth. They deserve to know.
“17 years ago? Huh, that must’ve been in the late 90’s-early 00’s”
17 years ago was 2007.
First OP deserves to be in prison her and Samantha are directly responsible for Tom's death.
Story 1: wanted to find the guy whose life she ruined and offer some half assed apology but is scared to confront the demon that started it all.
So you didn't believe your best friend over some girl you barely know. But 17 years later, you believe some random comment at a wedding. Op if this story is real. I feel like you knew it was fake the whole time, and now you feel guilty.
Story 1: OP should be sued into bankruptcy.
Don't seem like much of friend to me
People like this is why I stick to myself
S1: Heartbreaking ending. If I were in her position, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. She should come clean to everyone about what she did, share it publicly across all platforms, and accept the consequences - no matter how severe - because I doubt it would be worse than the lies that ended him.
