How I Made A Tattered Wooden American Flag With A Deer Skull Engraving

  • One of my favorite wooden flags and American flags yet! It’s a fairly easy build and there are a TON of ways that it can be done. The methods I use in the video are just a few ways that I like to make flags.
    For this project, we are going a little outside the box! A little angle grinder work and this thing really stands out! The deer skull was an added benefit.

    Time:
    -2 to 3 Hours (excluding glue-up and dry times)
    Consumables Used:
    -1x12x8 Pine Board - 1
    -Minwax Stain - Barn Red
    -Minwax Stain - Navy
    - Minwax Stain - White Tint Base
    -Minwax Polycrylic - Satin
    -Paper Towels
    -Titebond Wood Glue
    -1 1/4” 16 Gauge Brad Nails
    -120 Grit Sand Paper 5”
    -220 Grit Sand Paper 5”
    Tools and Bits Used:
    -Dewalt 12” Miter Saw
    -Craftsman 10” Table Saw (Diablo Blade)
    -Bosch 4 1/2”Angle Grinder
    -Graff Speed-cutter Wood Carving Disc
    -Dewalt Palm Sander
    -Dewalt Orbital Sander
    -Shapeoko Carbide 3d CNC
    -60 Degree V Bit (Deer Outline)
    -1/4” Endmill (Deer cutout)
    Other:
    -Large Union Star Stencil (Amazon)
    -Pony Jorgensen Bar Clamps
    -Flag Jig (See The Video On My Channel!)
    -3M face Mask
    -Safety Rated Glasses

    I use acrylic paint because it’s easy to find anywhere and dirt cheap. I wipe it on with a rag and it looks amazing.

    Nice job,I've made 8 flags and a cpl of mini Flags..
    I do like the Jig Set up i have ran into that before where the furring strips Bow..
    Watching this made me realize i need a Jig. So Thanks for helping me make up my mind..

    Love the flags! Have you tried to cnc machine the stars? If so does it look nice? What machine do you use? Appreciate it.

    You had me worried you were gonna hit the staple on the end of your board holding the barriers, be careful not to knick your blade. Great video tho...
