- Mario Kart's secondary mode, the Battle Mode, can be just as fun as the racing. Throughout the game Nintendo have thrown in a bunch of different battles tracks to amplify for the fun. Although... they don't all do a great job of that. So let's take a look at what are the best and worst Mario Kart battle tracks.

The problem with Mario Kart Wii's battle tracks is that they're more fun to just screw around with the half pipes and gimmicks rather than to actually battle and use items with.
Exactly! That's why I don't care for funky stadium
Also, MKW's battle mode sucks. Teams only, forced time limits, no last man standing, coin runners... It's so limited. MK8D didn't even fix it entirely but at least now we don't have to be on teams and there's a lot more modes.
@@k-leb4671 agreed. Plus you’re only limited to 2 vehicles. When I hop on MKW, I only play VS for that reason only.
@@k-leb4671 MK8D really should, at the very least, have an Elimination option for battle mode patched in (they did add the surprise feature of Custom Items very recently, so who knows)
I’m curious if just adding this option would instantly give MK8D the best battle mode in the entire series, or at the very least, close enough to that

I think the reason Funky Stadium hasn’t come back is that half-pipe tricks were dropped after Mario Kart Wii, sadly.
It came back in Mario Kart Tour so possibly will come in Mario Kart 9, all we can do is hope

I really like Delfino Pier because of the unique water system. Although its not my favorite, its really cool how the water rises and forces the players to go to the roof.

D The Australian the original mk8 just used the normal race tracks as battle courses and only had one mode, it was horrible

I wish they brought back delfino pier in mario kart 8 deluxe and added in a playable underwater section, I loved playing it on mario kart wii.
Personally I would’ve put chain chomp roulette a bit higher but I think I just like the look of the map rather than the actual design because if you take away all the chain chomp it’s just a circle with a jump in the middle
Funky Stadium was absolutely amazing! Wish we could have it on Deluxe...
good list! i never understood the appeal for pipe plaza. the arena's tiny size negates the purpose of the teleportation entirely, making the pipes just a pointless gimmick that distracts from the battle.

Yeah but it's fun, and I always liked leaving Bananas and Fake Item Boxes right outside the pipes so that whoever used them would smack right into them
That transition from DP2 to BC3 at the beginning was perfect.

Double deck being that low is a crime. That was the only battle map i used to play back when me and family had the game one the wii

I played battle a lot and I just didnt enjoy funky stadium. It wasnt chaotic enough, and people could easily run from you in coin runners. Or they'd camp the boxes in the sand pits. It just wasnt that great imo
Funky Stadium is the epitome of cool design/vibes but mediocre when you actually get into it

Mario Kart Wii has the best Battle Mode. Great variety of Battle courses, good choice of returning courses, amazing music to give each a new taste. I love MKWii and the Battle Courses show greatness

I like the SNES battle courses much more because it's very simple and very balanced for battle mode

35. Sherbet Rink (3DS) - This is the WORST battle course. The ice is too slippery and the penguins.
34. Battle Course 3 (SNES) - The only battle arenas I hate are the ice one, since they don't work in arenas.
33. Palm Shore (DS) - If the ice physics weren't in 35 and 34, this would've been the worst. Good god is this bad.
32. Battle Course 4 (SNES) - WAY. TOO. BIG
31. Battle Course 2 (GBA) - It's just a square, nothing else.
30. Battle Course 3 (GBA) - A BIT simple, but it's a bit too big.
29. Battle Course 2 (SNES) - THE ACTUAL FINAL SNES course that aren't too close to GBAs. I wish we could use the bounce stuff.

27. Double Deck (N64) - What you said applies to mine.
26. Big Donut (N64) - It's TOO DARK, and I feel like it's a complete of waste, as in MK7, you can glide.

23. Tart Top (DS) - I like the thememing, but the music ruins it.
22. Tilt-A-Kart (GCN) - An 8bit Mario you're on and you can go sidewards. yay?
21. Battle Course 1 (SNES) - The first Battle Course, so it can't be the bloody worst, but not the best.
20. Battle Course 4 (GBA) - This is like the only GOOD one (the rest were mediocre on GBA)
19. Battle Stadium (NS) - WHAT IS THIS? THIS FEELS LIKE A RACE TRACK.
18. Lunar Colony (NS) - The thing that annoys me is the gravity, I feel like it's a bit too bad, and it makes it good, but not great. The 15 courses are great, but the gravity ruined it.
17. Nintendo Gamecube (GCN) - Nintendo Gamecube is, like you said, a wrestling arena, and it doesn't feel good.
16. Nintendo DS (DS) - You do more stuff than drift, and it's more interesting. YAY!
15. Thwomp Desert (Wii) - go go go ogo g
14. Skyscraper (N64) - Skyscraper looks beautiful... on the Wii that is but hey, it's still fun.
13. Sweet Sweet Kingdom (NS) - Too hungry, I wanna eat it!
12. Block City (GCN) - This is a chill track, yet a fun one.
11. Pipe Plaza (GCN) - Teleporting to one pipe through another is fun, going up to down is fun, going from one pipe at the top to the bottom is fun, case close.
10. Urchin Underpass (NS) - Urchin Underpass is a nice refrence to Splatoon, and would be most of people's favourites, but nah have you listened to the music? no its bad.
9. Twilight House (DS) - 9 parts, chck. Outside, check. Nice atmosphere, check. Good Music, not check.
8. Honeybee House (Honeybee Hive) - 9 parts (i think), check. Outside, check. Nice atmosphere, check. Good Music, CHECK!
7. Block Plaza (Wii) - OH NO, IT'S GOING DOWN! HELP!!!! nah, you won't go there. Anyone who loves Block Fort MUST love this arena.
6. Dragon Palace (NS) Same as yours
5. Block Fort (N64) - The original HAS TO WIN, HAS TO.
4. Wuhu Town (3DS) - I like Wuhu Island tracks, and this is a great BATTLE arena. This could've been the best battle arena,

It confuses me how few battle courses there are in MK7 and 8 in general. I mean, it doesn't really confuse me because I know the developers just wouldn't have had enough time or didn't care, but still...why does MK8D have more cups than battle courses? It should've brought back one course from every previous game at least.

For me personally funky stadium is the worst battle scenario, I prefer the terrible GBA Battle Course 1 than a super empty stage, but the music of that stage is good.

I wouldn't have put some of MK8DX tracks so high, because some are so big that is HARD to find enemies to hit and becomes boring (like space station, that place is way too big)

I absolutely hate Mario Kart Wii's Battle mode. Being forced to race in teams is just straight-up awful. I think out of all of those in that game, Funky Stadium is the only stage good enough to make the experience tolerable. Every Retro course and the other new courses suck. Except Thwomp Desert. That one doesn't just suck. It transcends reality with how bad it is.
In my opinion Pipe Plaza is the only good Double Dash Battle Track
